❤
Omg! That is brilliant! Fall IS the Friday of seasons!! I will definitely be using that❤
Finally Fall yaaaaas 🍂 !!! Loved the video! On my Fall TBR:
- A Tempest of Tea
- Assassin’s Quest
- A Dark and Drowning Tide
- Starling House
- Way of Kings
📚 ❤ 🍁
I absolutely adore Tempest of tea! It definitely gives cozy vibes
+1 for Tempest of Tea. So worth it!
I just finished A Sorceress Comes to Call and before you even answered question 4, I was thinking that my answer would be that one!! Love Hester and her whole crew ❤️❤️❤️
I would very much enjoy losing in cards to them and pricking my fingers while embroidering 😂
I feel the same way about the Tamora Pierce books, but I started with the Wild Magic series, I've been chasing that feeling ever since I read them as a child lol
I believe I read those right after Alanna! My sister liked Wild Magic quite a bit 🥰
The Winter of the Witch is honestly my favourite of the 3, such a good series, underrated !!
Totally agree!!
As a South African, it was lovely to hear you talk about Nelson Mandela’s book 🇿🇦❤️
the spell shop seems perfect! can’t wait to read it
I just picked up Foul Days from the library and I'm very excited to read it!
I love how many of these Spellshop answers. That’s a book I’m glad I read this year.
Reign & Ruin I'm so excited to read when I catch up on the next few books just because of your review. Definitely one of those fantasy readers you mentioned who isn't opposed to romantic fantasy but I've bounced off of romantasy books pretty hard because I want my fantasy to be fleshed out too.
I used to live in Tucson. I was born there and same as you, I HATE summer. I moved the East Coast for a number of years just to experience real seasons, so I totally get it. I’m in Colorado now, which honestly for me, is the PERFECT setting. But, I still hate summer. FALL is my favorite.
In Sweden summer is the most beautiful ever. Green lush nature. Lots of lakes and the ocean to hang around. Beuatiful twilligt at night because sun never fully sets. Even though we get some periods of warmer weather we were not used to until global warming taking its grip over the course of the last 5-6 years. But its still not that hot. 23-25 celcius in Stockholm is the norm. Gets like 28-29 celcius during a few days some periods and thats not nice but still not as bad as in other countries
Your description of your cozy reading setup was inspirational to me :P
The spellshop was so great! Totally agree. Btw I just started your book 😅 and she's chunky but I'm so excited to read it ❤ ❤
I also just did this tag, it's so much fun. I hope you have a lovely fall and enjoy the time when the weather cools down. :)
I love that you mentioned the Lioness quartet! I started rereading them and so far, the first one at least really holds up! I miss this type of feminist fantasy before girlbossing became the norm lol. Those are fun and all but I love how Alanna feels like a real girl instead of a super hero.
Loving fall and winter & hating summer, we are the same person 😂
The collective Arizonan hatred of summer always makes me laugh 🤣 winter is such a reprieve here
Fall for us will be 107 to 110 degrees for us this week. 🌵 What a great list. Im writing ✍️ on a envelope, please let me save this where I can find it again 😊
I just reread the Alanna series last year and it totally holds up! It's just as awesome as you remember, I promise. And if you haven't read the other series by her, Keladry and Daine, you should. They are also soo incredibly good.
Love this style of reviews! Thanks!
You’re welcome! 😊
The Spellshop and Foul Days have been added to my TBR!
As a South African, I’m so delighted to see Madiba’s ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ on this list. 🇿🇦❤️
Another autobiography rec I’d like to throw your way is Trevor Noah’s ‘Born a Crime’ - which covers his life and experience growing up during apartheid.
I want to read kingfisher so badly 😅
Ohh, I hope you like her works :D
I read the Bear and the Nightingale like two years ago, loved it so much, but have still not picked up the second book for some reason even tho I DO want to continue the series 😂 and AHHH, I have Reign and Ruin from KU, just haven’t started it, but I’m so happy to hear that you thought it was good!!! ❤
I love Fall!!! I’m not a Summer girl. I’m on the East Coast of Canada and Summer - not so fun. Fall = beautiful!
Ohh, is it beautiful in the fall months for you? There aren’t many changing colors in the city I’m in 😅
East Coast of Canada, too ✌️
@@ebnovels so nice! I’m in Nova Scotia and the trees are gorgeous!
@@_ashleylh nice!! Fall on the East Coast is my favorite
A good book for #2 is Picking by Samantha Marchand. There's a lot of grief and loss in it. It deals a lot with PTSD, too. I'd say it's a good read for fall.
I just finished Tyranny of Faith and OMG, it is definitely a horror book! I wasn't prepared for that, but I ended up really liking it!
OMG! My favorite book long walk to freedom by Nelson Mandela I feel real deep connected to it and emotional connection too 🍁🍁📚📚📚🍁🎃🍂🍁🖤👻👻💛📙🍃🖤📚📖📖📖👻🎃🍂👻👻📖📖📖📚🖤🍂🖤👻🎃🍃🍃🎃📙📙💛💛🤎🎃🍃🍁🍁🍁🍃🍃🍃📚📚📚👻🖤🍂🍂📙
Great Tag!
I’m reading The Crimson Crown right now and it really captures autumn (apples, chilly woods, rainy weather). We get such a sad blip of autumn in NC. Summer lasts forever here. I’m from NY so I remember and miss amazing autumns. Luckily, spring is always my number one season and we have a beautiful one here.
Arizona might as well have two seasons, hot and cold 😂 I’ve never been to NY, but I will miss nice autumn changes with you! I’ll remember that about Crimson Crown as well 🍂
A sad blip...? Where in NC are you? The mountains here are beautiful this time of year...
Does immersion reading mean nice ambient soundscapes, music, rain effects etc or is that listening to the audiobook and reading along?
*cries in southern hemisphere*
I'm halfway through The Spellshop and I agree completely. I lost both of my parents within 2 1/2 years and the book captures the bittersweet feelings of thinking about them. Also my grandpa used to grow boysenberries and my grandma made jam out of them, so when she tastes her berry jam and says it tastes like memories, that line hit me right in the heart.
I also want to reread Alanna, but I can't find used editions, etc (in my country). I'll have to save up to buy someday.
Ah man, I’m sorry! I wish I could send you some
It's definitely fall. The month is literally called "fall month" where I live.
🍁🍂
The thumbnail looks all oldy worldly. 👍
Haha, thanks! It’s the fall stack of books from this video and a picture I took at a pumpkin patch 🎃
Agree with you about summer. It's hot/humid, to the point where we often get warnings to stay inside, so there's no "enjoying" the sunshine anyway. All the Snowbirds come back from their homes in the south, so the town is INSANELY more hectic and annoying to live in. Rainy season hits, and everything just feels more calm. People leave again, I can wear nice sweaters/coats and dig out the cozy blankets. Hot chocolate and tea for cold mornings. ☺️😌 I have several used book stores with cats to visit and find old authors people have forgotten about. Best season.
I got The Spellshop after your recommendation. Sounds like a lovely read for this time of year, I'm excited for it.
nice
I thought I was the only one who hates summer
oh no you're not! My husband has some sort of reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder. Usually the grey days of winter make people sad, but for him, the sunshine is the worst!
What the winter temperature and average snowfall where you live?
Just looked it up to be certain: average high is 68, average low is 45 in December, no snow really :)
@@ebnovels WOW thanks for letting us know!!!
I would love to watch an animated series of the Empire of the Wolf in the Castlevania animation style. It would be great but terrifying 😭
I think because fall leads into winter (and winters in NY are not fun) it gets a bum rap from me.
Ah, that makes sense. That’s me with spring 😅
So move here to Colorado 😊
Hello friends! Are there any historical and/or fantasy novels with a hero or heroine who is an archer?
I'm desperately looking but can't find any!
Thanks a lot!
Well, there's Daughter of the Moon Godess by Sue Lynn Tan, the archery is magical and slightly overshadowed by the romance, though.
@@nightinmare thanks !
Might be stating the obvious here, but anything Robin Hood inspired. There's probably dozens out there.
I hate summer too. I was an autumn baby born in the middle of a thunderstorm. At night.🤣
[Of course, that's autumn in the southern hemisphere.]
Ur funny
