Awesome list of recommendations! You reminded me I really want to read Pedro Paramo. It does sound like it has gothic vibes, perfect for autumn. I didn’t love Hurricane Season but it does fit the autumn theme really well too. I want to read so many of the books on your list (A Swim in a Pond, The Idiot, Names for the Sea) and have also enjoyed a lot of others like Dead Souls, Ana Karenina and Villette. Great video!

The Melancholy of Resistance sounds super intriguing, definitely adding that to the "want to read" list 👀 Braised Pork is such a good autumn book rec! I really want to read The Idiot, it's one of my partner's faves so maybe this winter is the time I finally tackle it 😅 I did like The Romanovs but I do think it had a few too many footnotes - could have been edited down a smidge 🙈
