The Clancy Brothers' one is my favorite so far of this song but this version could easily become another favorite.
And until now I did not even know that the Corries had one.
    Thank you for posting.

good song of honest thinking whiskey drinkers and others who love life. Don't waste your life not exploring. Well the whiskey, Nancy Whiskey owes.

nevermore1043: Similar words, but different tune. I love this one & the other variant too. I've sung the other one for decades.

" Usquebaugh ! " (sp?) Uttered by Deborah (one of my favorite Scottish actresses) Kerr's character in 1967 movie, "Casino Royale" (James Bond spoof, also starring David Niven), as she feels the effects of the Scotch whiskey.

Anyone know the lyrics of the last verse? I just can't make it out and looking up the lyrics provides lyrics to what amount to entirely different songs

      The final verse is:
"So I'll gan back tae my trade o the weaving
I'll fairly mak my wee shuttles flee
And the devil's curses on Nancy Whisky
For Nancy Whiskey has ruined me"
Being that this is live, slight variations may be thrown in by Ronnie and Roy in each individual performance, so things may be slightly different. But this is the final verse for this particular performance.

    Nancy Whisky
I am a weaver a Calton Weaver, I am a rash and a rovin' blade
I've got sill'er in my pooches and I'll gang an' follow the roving trade.Whisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!As I went in by Glasgow City, Nancy Whisky I chanced to smell,
I went in, sat doon beside her, seven long years I loo'ed her well.Whisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!The mair I kissed her the mair I loo'ed her.
The mair I kissed her the mair she smiled.
Til I forgot my mither's teachin', Nancy soon had me beguiled.Whisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!When I awoke in the early morning to quench my thirst it was my need
I tried to rise but I wisna able, Nancy had me by the heid.Whisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!So come awa' landlady what's the owin', tell me what there is to pay
Fifteen shillingsi s the reckoning, pay me quickly and go away.Whisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!I'll gang back tae the Calton weaving,
I'll surely mak the shuttles fly,
For I'll mak mair at the Calton weaving than ever I did in the roving wayWhisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!So come all you weavers, Calton Weavers
Come all you weavers where ere you be.
Beware of Whisky Nancy Whisky, She'll ruin you as she ruined me.Whisky, Whisky, Nancy Whisky. Whisky, Whisky Nancy-o!
