All form of amrit (Nector) lie in the ‘ word teacher ‘ . It can be taken by mind and not by the body , in order to drink it it had to flow in mind . This can be done by fine tuning the mind with the teachings of ‘shabad guru’. The purpose of amrit is to make the mind powerful enough, so that five passions namely desires, wrath, greed , material attachment and ego remain under control. This make the mind immortal not get itself killed by these five invincible killers. Then Immortalized guy uses these passions for his own happiness in controlled manner, just like a dam producing electricity in controlled and desirable fashion . This is sikhism.
In Sikhi taking Amrit is order by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. U cannot be liberated unless u get initiated and take on a Guru. In Sikhi u take on a Guru via Amrit Sanchar
