I usually open all on the back od the neck, then the whole collar is larger, more easy and it works like magic

Any tips on how to decrease the size of the collar? Sometimes I'll buy a tshirt and the neck hole is way too big, I feel really exposed, and it just doesn't look right.

I've seen some people gather the neckline! There are some pretty stitches you can do - I did one that looks like a braid when you pull the string

Buy men's T-shirts. The collars are higher. You can always taper the sides for shaping.

What keeps the collar trim from shrinking back to the original size. Maybe tug on it after washing & hand to dry

Usually, the ribbing can take a bigger size very easily. Padding with the iron is enough in most of the cases. The bigger surface of the neckline helps as well. Cheers 🙂
