Nice video and explanation on the criticism, i agree with all of it, however pairi daiza is also updating and building the whole time as they recently updated the kids zoo and are working on a renewed huge aviary like you mentioned, so there is a huge chance the Asian area with the bengal tigers are next because i think its one of their more older habitats. (Fun fact:the huge boat is also where they keep their reptiles and pygmy hippos, if you look trough the mirror in the bathrooms in the boat you can see the vetinary for the reptiles). Sorry for the long comment , but great video with alot of thought into it :D
Ooh, that's so cool! I'd love to see an update in the Asian area. Thank you for that info, I'll pin it to the top so others can see! It's a really fun zoo to explore, and huge because I didn't even see everything in one day haha. Thanks for watching too, glad you enjoyed it!
I'd like to add to that! The boat is basically their reptile sanctuary. A lot of reptiles housed there are either saved from the black market and seized by the authorities or abandoned by people. At some point in the boat you pass next to their quarantine area, and there is a whiteboard where you can see just how many animals have arrived that week and which species they are. I think they welcomed 600+ reptiles and amphibians in 2023. The ship was also used for whaling back in the day, and the entire way is paved by infos on the dangers animals face from smuggling and poaching, and conservation efforts. It's one of my favorite area of the park! I do hear the criticisms for the white tiger habitat. It always felt too cramped for me, and I really hope they expand it someday. The way you recreated it is amazing though! I am always amazed by what can be done in this game.
Indeed pairi daiza bengal tiger habitat is older then other habitat’s that’s probably why it “less up to standard “ but there probably gonna rework it in the future
As someone who currently works at a zoo with a tiger exhibit I loved this video! By the way all animals in AZA zoos are required to have a holding/den away from the public. It must have some ac (for mammals) or a heat system. They must be allowed access to this area at night, and in some extreme heat (it is different for each animal)
The way you managed to recreate that habitat is awesome! All the details are great, and the commentary was the perfect blend of informative and entertaining!
I really like the analysis you made. I know really well this park and his history and I can bring a little bit of context. At the origin in 1994, the parc was majorly oriented to birds and plants. The idea here is to immerse the public in biome that they doesn't know. The Ganesha Kingdomn was openned in 2009 and the tigers was introduced in 2015. I'm agree with the fact that the tigers don't have any space and intimacy. I think their error was related to the limited amount of space they had to develop the park during the years 2013 and 2014. So they did this choice. But we can see that they learn from their mistakes and they built more space and intimacy to the new area for Siberian tigers with a bigger enclosure, limited lines of sight and tainted glass. But to be completly honnest, I really think that the size of the enclosures are still too little for a lot of species and really unballanced when you compare with the size of the panda enclosure for example.
Ooh, that's so cool though, thanks so much for that info! I do think they're growing positively, I can see the effort for sure (with their participation in conservation programs and such for example) so I definitely don't fault them for mistakes. I think they're learning from them for now and someone also commented they're apparently renewing the Ganesha area soon, so I have high hopes for that as well!

Pairie Daiza is my favourite zoo ever to visit, I especially always thought the tiger enclosure was my favourite. many of my planet zoo builds are inspired by many of Pairie Daizas Enclosures. I didn't know about these controversial topics surrounding it. Your video was very educational and may I add your recreations was spot on. Even the adjustments and improvements you made work so well! You're a very talented and deserve way more recognition!

I used to live near Pairi Daiza and loved going all the time (we had a yearly pass) but I always thought the tiger and leopard enclosures were quite small… My friends said that the zoo has been expanding as it gets more money, so maybe there are plans to increase the enclosures in the future ?
I found your channel by recommendation, and I was really surprised that you essentially just started! Your Planet Zoo videos are nothing short of excellent, great ideas, really interesting to watch and listen to, and the amount of work and research, and just sheer production time you put into this video really shines through. Ah wow, thank you so much! I'm really glad you like it. It was kind of a longer project than I originally intended haha but I definitely had fun, that's most important too. Thanks for stopping by!
As a Belgian, I'm very proud of Pairi Daiza. Its theming, marketing, guest experience is top notch and its collection of animals very impressive. However, the actual design of the habitats itself is in some cases quite bland and lackluster, and it's kind of bizarre how creatively designed the guest experience is and how devoid of creativity some habitats are. Still, a zoo that you will remember visiting and I'm sure that in time they will improve much.
I think you've outdone yourself with this video! Great concept, beautiful inspiration, and amazing method for comparing real life to Planet Zoo. The side-by-side shots are incredible!
Awesome video! I had heard about the good and the bad of Pairi and you tackled it very well here. Amazing recreation and even improvement over the actual habitat!
Thank you! Honestly, in the end, the zoo has many positive things and someone just told me the tiger habitat is one of their oldest so that makes so much sense now. Thanks for the kind words, glad you like it!

LOVED this so much. Fascinating concept and well executed. Would love to see more of these deep dives comparing the Planet Zoo manual and real exhibits. I find real life zoos quite complicated having gone to some extremely poorly managed abusive zoos as a child, but one zoo I've always respected is Monkey World in the UK.

@@wowiplay YAY!!! if you’re accepting ideas, i think swans on the front waterfall would really add to whimsical feeling of the zoo. but your taste is better than mine so you know better hahaha
And then you look at Pairi Daiza's other tiger enclosure where they keep like 4 tigers together... It's a beatiful zoo and I'd love to go back to it at some point, but when you're spending that much money on theming, it feels extra weird when the animals get just the bare minimum. Anyway, really great recreation! You mentioned you don't usually put in this amount of detailing, and that's exactly what I love about recreating stuff. It really forces you to use the pieces in the game in whole new ways, and be a lot more creative with them :)
Yea, unfortunately they really stuff their hotel room enclosures because "the guests need to see the animals". They do the same with the bears and wolves, it's really crowded in there and I hate it. As if a literal hotel room against the nature of an enclosure wouldn't be enough. Thank you for stopping by! It really did force me to look at details I never would, so it was very fun!
This build is beautiful, I'm jealous you're able to actually visit the zoo to see for yourself what you're recreating. The wildlife park in my city (or just outside it more accurately) does not have interesting looking habitats at all, a lot of the animals there are African plains animals that just like big open spaces and that's exactly what they have. Lots of grass and some trees. You basically have to go at the listed feeding time because otherwise it's pretty common to only see them at quite long distance. I lived in another city for a while that had a more traditional zoo but they didn't have a big focus on design and architecture either, just fairly small touches on some exhibits like the pygmy marmoset sleeping area being built a bit like a shed with four-pane windows. Honestly most New Zealand zoos are really built around conservation, which is a great thing, they do a *lot* of work with breeding programs and the like, but it does mean that I really don't have any real life examples of the kind of extremely visually appealing designs that people like to recreate in the game. I've literally never been to a zoo that does that sort of thing. They don't even have fancy entrances, they're just normal buildings that you walk through like the one the game starts you with by default. The zoos don't suffer financially from the lack of aesthetic design though. Maybe it's because people can't just easily travel to another zoo like they can in Europe so we just accept what we have and pay more attention to the animals themselves rather than the surroundings.
Really interesting video concept! i love to see the process of what is going on in your head! It's always a great exercise to build existing enclosures and making them better for the animals! i learnt a lot about bengal tigers too ;)
The final habitat you made for the tigers looks awesome! It improves on the original in giving more space to the tigers while keeping the inspiration’s love of theming. In fact your inspiration felt like looking at a real life Planet Zoo build! Regarding the white tigers/player preference of the color variations: I actually make sure to buy “normal colored” animals from the Franchise market. That way I have different colors to look at instead of mostly white. I do have a few albinos that I might want to make a zoo specifically to house my lucky ones. Not for breeding, but for the welfare of them. Honestly I might steal a few ideas from this video whenever I get to my Bengal Tiger habitat. Though first I have to get through building my Oceania animal zoo. Currently working on the “Crash Bandicoot” island with Dingos, Saltwater Crocodiles, and Common Wombats (Crash Bandicoot was originally Willy the Wombat in development). I even recreated Dingodile’s diner from Crash 4 which even includes space to view the saltwater crocodiles.
Thank you! Love the idea of a zoo pure for welfare, they definitely deserve that. And a Crash Bandicoot zoo sounds so much fun! The whole series are my favorite games, definitely one of my childhood go to.
@@wowiplay I should put up the crates that I made plus the Dingo’s Diner. Literally made every single type of crate I could reasonably make. Made 1m, 2m, and 4m versions. The 4m versions include decorated versions of shop windows and doors to keep them on theme with whatever crate you were going for! I’m still working on details for staff building clusters, those are themed after Cortex’s castles. If you’d like, I can see about sending you a link to them and would love to see what you do with them!
@@Manectrix2000 that would be amazing, sounds like you put A LOT of work in it! I've been thinking of giving Crash Bandicoot zoos a go as well, so I could definitely use that if you're okay with that! It's also so smart to include those versions of shops and stuff, that's so cool!
Pairi daiza has another tiger exhibit. This one is much bigger but only has small viewinf areas. In this exhibit they have a group of the normal orange tigers. This exhibit is in the antartic part of the zoo
Dude this is insanely cool and impressive, the analysis on everything is super interesting too. I followed you from your recent lion king video, and I love all your content! If you don’t mind me asking, what language did you speak in this video? Just wondering ☺️
Ahh thanks so much for checking out another video! I'm really glad you like my videos, really appreciate it. And I don't mind at all, no worries. I spoke Dutch in that clip (Flemish dialect).
I worked at a zoo at the start of the year, and passing by some of the enclosures I felt they were also just too small. I've thought of doing a PZ build based on memory, but I just haven't gotten around to doing it
it s a wonderfull habitat recreation, i ve been to the zoo many times and u did it justice. but the whole area isnt just for the tiger bore and servals. there are many more animals hidden in the garden whoch are not shown on the map. they have peafowls, porcupines, komodo dragons and to the far left( on the picture in the video) are monkeys aswell. i hope u didnt miss them while visiting or otherwise dont forgeg them for next time.
Glad you like it! I didn't miss those, thanks though! It was fun too because I was walking around just when they were feeding the porcupine and I saw a very loving moment between them and the carer. I didn't mention them in the video because I wanted to keep the focus on the larger animals that need a lot of space and I didn't want to cover the whole zoo haha. (But that might be a good acknowledgement to mention next time!)
Apparantly, Nepal was so successful in tiger conservation that the wild tigers have started becoming a problem to the locals living around the conservation area. The population has almost tripled. Around 121 in 2010 to 355 in 2022. hopefully the tiger reintroduction project is also successful in Cambodia
Wow! What a gorgeous build! I am just obsessed with the way you expanded upon their habitat while keeping the themes strong! Is there anywhere I can find the other builds for this community zoo? Or has it just begun?
It is funny how people in Planet Zoo either want to take great care of the animals living in the zoo or just make a complicated death trap for both the people and animals lol. Anyways, I guess the moral of the story is to not encourage tiger incest.
The giant boat has animals😂 I thought you had been there you should know😂😂 I have been to pairi daiza for my hole life it's the first zoo I have been to near the tiger habitat are komodo, orangutans, elephants, etc
White tigers can be found in the wild & have been recorded from medieval times. They're just too rare in numbers for commercialization so zoos breed them in captivity.
Using a game to determine if a real exhibit is healthy or not, is just. NO- Like, how can use you a game that is more building than anything else, is just. So bad- amazing build and uhm, way better 😭 but it’s not a healthy way to see if an exhibit criticized massively is a good exhibit or not.

Good attention for detail. Nice video!
Pairi daiza has another tiger exhibit. This one is much bigger but only has small viewinf areas. In this exhibit they have a group of the normal orange tigers. This exhibit is in the antartic part of the zoo
This is amazing and brings a great level of awareness to tiger welfare
That Tiger Bridge is awesome!! The tigers are so cute 🐯
Ahh thank you! I was so proud to make it work haha, seeing as this game glitches out so often.
Allez zeg, ne mention begot. INCREDIBLE DESIGN!

ahh thank you sparkle!
Great vid! I am from Belgium and has visited pari daisa this summer
@@wowiplay ofc! And thanks for answering ☺️
I LOVE EVERYTHING about and in this video!!!! 😍😍😍
eep thank youuuu!
This was super interesting!
I'm so glad it was! Thanks for checking it out!
This video is incredible, i live the matter on details and the though process, can´t understand why it has only a few likes,
Thank you for that! Honestly, it has a lot of likes for me haha, even one like is enough for me, it was fun to make!
Pairi daiza mentioned !!
I worked at a zoo at the start of the year, and passing by some of the enclosures I felt they were also just too small. I've thought of doing a PZ build based on memory, but I just haven't gotten around to doing it
It's definitely fun to do so I recommend it haha
it s a wonderfull habitat recreation, i ve been to the zoo many times and u did it justice. but the whole area isnt just for the tiger bore and servals. there are many more animals hidden in the garden whoch are not shown on the map. they have peafowls, porcupines, komodo dragons and to the far left( on the picture in the video) are monkeys aswell. i hope u didnt miss them while visiting or otherwise dont forgeg them for next time.
Thanks so much! You can follow the community zoo on @guntersgaming channel, it's his.
Maybe you should make an exhibit based of one in planckendael.
I've never been there so that'd be a cool idea, yea!
i love this video!! do you by any chance upload your builds on the workshop?
Thank you! I mostly do, I'll probably upload this one when the whole community zoo is ready!
This build is amazing!
thanks so much!
such a great build!
Thank you!
Great habitat you are very underrated 🐯🐅
Thank yooou!

Heel zeker de moeite! Hopelijk een leuke dag!
Love it the video style, Indonesia check, shouteast asia ✔️
Wow I subscribed🎉
Ahh thank you! Hope you'll enjoy your stay hehe
Amazing job
Only freedom is species-appropriate!!
I learned a lot from ur video ty
I’m from we have Siberian tigers at my zoo and that enclosure is dog crap bad this recently or both of our tigers died but instead of calling them,
It is funny how people in Planet Zoo either want to take great care of the animals living in the zoo or just make a complicated death trap for both the people and animals lol.
Anyways, I guess the moral of the story is to not encourage tiger incest.
The giant boat has animals😂 I thought you had been there you should know😂😂
I have been to pairi daiza for my hole life it's the first zoo I have been to near the tiger habitat are komodo, orangutans, elephants, etc
@@Monkey_boy12356 oh yea the elephants and orangutans were great!
Can we download your builds on steam somehow?
White tigers can be found in the wild & have been recorded from medieval times. They're just too rare in numbers for commercialization so zoos breed them in captivity.
Can you do the Central Park Zoo from the Madagascar franchise?
Do you intend to upload on the workshop?
I'll probably do that when the community zoo is finished! :)
wowi was wowed :DDDD
I see myself out xD
lmao girl 😭😭😭
@@wowiplay I couldnt resist :D

Dankje!
Maar ik zie de olifantjes😂❤

Is it available for us to put I need to our own zoos?
I'll put it on the workshop when the community zoo itself is ready and public :)
@@wowiplay yaaaay thank you
Wait what? She is actually belgian? That antwerp accent😂

@@CustomKaiju good question
i smell dutch
accurate, your smell is
Using a game to determine if a real exhibit is healthy or not, is just. NO- Like, how can use you a game that is more building than anything else, is just. So bad- amazing build and uhm, way better 😭 but it’s not a healthy way to see if an exhibit criticized massively is a good exhibit or not.
@@henryvaughan7283 well it’s fun, it’s really not that deep
