It is lovely. The ground was prepared correctly to help prevent weeds. Mulching is also important. Very helpful for shade gardeners. Also.. Thank you for adding the long list of plants! Very kind.

I need that 'Curly Fries' hosta for my memorial gardens for my sister and brother-in-law. They owned two McDonald's restaurants at the time of their death, 20 years ago.

I love the style: Modern/clean meets over-abundance plus shade! I also love turf-less yards. And the fact that she doesn't irrigate is amazing and to be respected. Water is a precious commodity and her garden proves you can have beauty and also be water-frugal. I saw a beautiful espallier Japanese maple last year at a garden center near me and loved it. It's nice to see it working in someone's garden!

Very full garden not a boring spot. The paper bark maple peels like our crapemertles here. I love all the natural rock edging and bark paths. I love hostas but they don't grow well here because of the high heat we get. Yuliya it was a pleasure seeing this gorgeous yard, Thank you and the person who lives there!

19:55 I can totally see what the designer was going for in that section of the garden with that giant egg-shaped boulder. It's like walking through an ancient forest with the big trees, oversized hostas with giant leaves and all of a sudden you come across a dinosaur egg.

Hydrangea quercifolia Snowflake. Maybe THE most beautiful shrub ever. Like chains of nested seashells.
A nice companion is Chasmanthium latifolium grass, but MUST deadhead it by end of July. Easy to do by running your hand up the stalk,
popping off only the small seedheads, while the attending thin flower stalks remain. Continues to look great till frost.

Hi Yuli great presentation. Thank you to your friend who let us see her private garden. What an inspiration. I too have a woodland garden and collect Hosta but mine isn’t as organized. I am taking what I saw here and will arrange them into groupings. I also like the empty space between the plants. I seem to do better with my shade area's and have all kinds of Ferns, and Hosta's ( But I don't have Curly Fries ....yet ! ) Other area's not doing so well...my Hydrangea is in bloom ...ONE bloom ! Have no idea what went wrong this year ! Next year ...hopefully I will get it right. Happy Gardening !
