Did you program the entirety of the CIM using opcom?

Nice vid. Do you ever have issues when pressing the indicator stalk down for a left signal. It will only flash once and cut off, but when pressed again it will work as it should.

    Hello there!
Did you disconnect the battery again before putting back the airbag?
    Thanks!

      Hi mate, yes I did
      See below precautions
      De-activation of airbag system
The system must be de-activated before carrying out any work on the airbag components or surrounding area:
Switch on the ignition and check the operation of the airbag warning light on the instrument panel. The light should illuminate when the ignition is switched on, then extinguish.
      Switch off the ignition.
      Remove the ignition key.
      Switch off all electrical equipment.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal (refer to ‘Disconnecting the battery ’ in the Reference chapter).
Insulate the battery negative terminal and the end of the battery negative lead to prevent any possibility of contact.
Wait for at least two minutes before carrying out any further work. Wait at least ten minutes if the airbag warning light did not operate correctly.
      Activation of airbag system
To activate the system on completion of any work, proceed as follows:
Ensure that there are no occupants in the vehicle, and that there are no loose objects around the vicinity of the steering wheel. Close the vehicle doors and windows.
Ensure that the ignition is switched off then reconnect the battery negative terminal.
Open the driver’s door and switch on the ignition, without reaching in front of the steering wheel. Check that the airbag warning light illuminates briefly then extinguishes.
      Switch off the ignition.
If the airbag warning light does not operate as described in paragraph c), consult a Vauxhall/Opel dealer before driving the vehicle.

@@TheDrivewayExperiment Which light are you talking about? The Traction control light? Thats the one Ive got on and Ive read the steering angle sensor might be the reason.

@@klausschwab4019 that's the one mate, could be a number or reasons it's on though.
I replaced the CIM unit so it required me to calibrate the SAS

@@TheDrivewayExperiment Thanks for replying. This must be the reason, Ive had the steering wheel off and the CIM before as I had what I thought was an ECU problem but turned out to be a broken wire in the end, I remember taking that thing off with the spool of tape inside too. Im sure the TCS light came on shortly after, and my indicators dont self cancel. What do I need to calibrate it? Will I need a mechanic?

    • @TheDrivewayExperiment
      @TheDrivewayExperiment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@klausschwab4019 i would remove the steering wheel and set the ribbon in the cim as you can see on my video there's is small text written on the cim explaining how to do this. Once set you will need opcom or a diagnostic tool capable of calibrating the SAS however at this point the issue I had was the reading was not zero,d so it would not allow me to calibrate. I found that if I wiggled the arrows that meet slightly it zero'd and allowed me to clear the TC light of then dash.
This is just how I did it trial and error if your unsure get a mechanic to take a look.
