This is the first 80's Beany and Cecil cartoon I've seen on TH-cam that actually matches the wackiness of the original Bob Clampett toons from the 60's. While this short-lived revival clearly had John K.'s wacky stretchy off-model animation style and his gross factor, the latter perfected with Ren and Stimpy, this series simply cannot hold up a candle to the original because of that influence. This goofy episode, however, comes pretty darn close. Rich Rodriguez West Covina, CA
From what I read in the magazine, the cartoonists complained that ABC hired a story editor that had no loyalty to the cartoonists or Bob Clampett and wrote the worst scripts in history. The result was a cold loveless Beany and Cecil series without the warm and compassion of the original series.
Cecil is right, that is the biggest fight cloud in Saturday morning cartoons!
You said it!
3:14 What an ironic statement, considering the fact that this show was eventually cancelled and replaced by The Flintstone Kids.
