They really are great, aren't they? The animation for a television show of this era is fantastic! Clampett's studio sure gave Hanna-Barbera a run for their money.
I also have a Beany & Cecil VHS rip tape that I used to watch all the time as a kid and years to come! What was interesting is on my tape they advertised for many upcoming episodes that I was interested as a kid to see, but have found those episodes on here....Actually, the last 2 episodes on my tape are the same as yours, Davey Cricket and Cecil Always Saves the Day.
It is time for a Beany and Cecil comeback. This is the type of cartoon that Boomerang is supposed to show. It could be fun to do a live action kaiju film of this... with Cecil bring kind of like Gamers the protector of earth... or children.
@@armorybrunotjr.3204 I love it as much as the original. Too bad ABC abandoned it after like 6 episodes because of the "too zany" animation style and them not wanting to have the same situation that CBS had with Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures. Thankfully, Tiny Toons would save animation in 1990.
I remember when Beanie and Cecil were puppets there show was only 15 minutes long and they had a running story with cliffhangers They were hyping the Thousand eyed monster for weeks and when you saw it was just a sock with buttons sewed to it Loved that show
That was the early 1950s puppet show "Time For Beany", which ran from 1949-55, and starred the talents of Daws Butler (Beany Boy) and Stan Freberg (Cecil, the Seasick Serpent).
HOW DID CARTOONS GET SO CRUMMY! FABULOUS 60"S !!! - FIRST SHAKESPEAR WOLF WAS AMAZING!!! CLAMPETT - CHUCK JONES - MCKIMPSON ALL THOSE CATS RULE!!! TEACH YER" GRANDBABIES WELL!
This is how great Bob Clampett made these cartoons. Great jokes and feature quality animation. An equal to Walt Disney in every way.

Don't forget the great work he did at Warner Bros. before that.
I loved Beany and Cecil as a little kid. I never listened to the dialog. Just watched the animation.

During the 1987-88 season, DIC tried an unsuccessful revival of the popular 1960s cartoon "Beany and Cecil". It lasted only five episodes.
I'm afraid John Kricfalusi burned that bridge and pissed on the ashes, my friend.

For a collection of Beany and Cecil cartoons, there's an interesting lack of Beany and Cecil.

Bob Clampett. One of the greatest cartoon makers. :)
Why weren't so many of these cartoons not on the two DVDs of Beany and Cecil?
