I have been using Goodnotes for a year now and always felt some resistance in doing things. I never looked at notability. Now I am all for it... Thanks for the wonderful video. Notability should pay you for such an informative video
Good video! I'm currently considering about what to choose between notability or goodnotes for my daily note taking app. Already used goodnotes for about 1 month and started to use notability. The tree organization method is what I need most for my work and I think I can still afford the subscription fee
2:00 you’ve sold me already. I use notability lock to hide Christmas pressie lists. I only saw good notes today because it’s being pushed on the App Store and wondered if I was missing something. Thanks for the video! Edit : you’ve also taught me a few tricks in notability that I didn’t know
thanks for the reply! also gonna let you know since i didn’t put it in the description or comments, goodnotes released an update sometime this year which allows you to password lock notes!
@@techyOS hmm, well maybe I’ll revisit it next time my notability subscription comes up. I couldn’t see anything in GN similar to the automatic page shift when you get to the edge of the page, meaning everything has to be on “small sheets”/giant handwriting.
Wow Dude your review and explanation it absolutely amazing. Honestly even pointing out options that longtime users like me had no idea about. Keep up the great work I can’t wait to see what else you release! 🎉
Hi I'm more convinced to move to notability, I heard that the file size in goodnotes in larger than notability is it? Any idea of avg notability note/file/doc?
The only 1 thing that makes for me Goodnotes the better than others- when I write I feel it like a real pen, 'cause the latency is smaller. This is a killer feature if Goodnotes finally makes the comments section on the distinct panel like Apple Books ,it will be the ideal tool
very good video, you r convincing me of buying notability, but I have 2 questions. does it have like a zoom text? is the premium notability that important? how much does it cost??
@@dxablo_not_found3608 notability does have a zoom text feature, and i do think premium notability is pretty important, since it gives you unlimited notes and edits, essential for any note taking app. notability costs $15/year.
Good notes allows me to add different page templates to any book - game changer for teaching students/having them make mind maps/graphs and so on in one document - otherwise, you are making some valid points.
I have been using notability since 2017 but recently starting to move to goodnotes. Tbh, I never wanted to do this but I got an issue with my notes gone blank serveral times and fed up with it. Last time that made me seriously consider stop using notability is my law code which I had been using for 3 years gone all blank, and its 2 week before exam. Thanks for the vids, your review covers all the thing i will be missed after I move all files to goodnote.
@@techyOS Cheers mate! I hope you never got this problem, I mean if they really fix this, I might get back to using notability again. I hope you make more of note taking apps, maybe a comparison video would be good for people who still hesitate. Good luck on your study journey!
I bought GoodNotes5 (one payment) when I found Notability had switched to subscription. I regret not buying Notability before (even without future updates). I respect GoodNotes6 has a one payment, but I agree with all the points from video, Notability suits me better, I feel compatible with it. However, removing one payment from Notability 3 years ago eliminate that app for me, too bad.

I think I have to remove one point from this. Goodnotes has just added the tape feature into their toolbar. This is not very good for my argument…

kiddo... u nailed this one... u will go a long way...
What about goodnote's feature to autocomplete any writing?
after thinking about it, yes it’s cool, but why not just continue writing the word instead of having to let go of your stylus?
@@techyOS Well same thing for notability, why do you need to let go to see what you have erased?
@@ThePersistentPuzzler it doesn’t matter in that case! you’re going to have to let go anyway!

I love noteability. Like good notes too but noteability seems best
100% agree with you
Purchased goonotes 2 times because of recommendations but i just cant i hate it😂😭
No matter what but foe Goodnotes 6 you have to pay once and that's it, so no comparison at all.

Bro the only thing I need is something apple notes has, create variables and graph functions
Goodnotes new update made it trash
i wouldn’t say made it trash but it did slightly downgrade the experience in some ways
Subject locking is useless, if you back it up the backup is not locked
sure if you back it up it isn’t locked, but you’re not restoring your notes from a backup every other day
@@techyOS yeah, but what I'm saying is that it is really unsecure. What is the point of locking if you can bypass it with ease.
fair point. one thing you could do is lock your cloud storage app behind a passcode for a little more security
I’m going to speak with you later
about how notability is better of course
