    This is where the internet shines. Watched this movie growing up as it was on TV in Australia a fair bit on weekends. Suddenly I had a flash in my memory on certain scenes but didn’t know the title or who was in it. Punched in “1960’s red Chinese tunnels movie” in Google and found this instantly! Screw all the hate and bile on the web, this is where it’s at..lol

    Happened to see this at least twice on the British channel ITV on a weekday morning back in the seventies. I recall a break time at school shortly after when I and several other kids were playing Battle Beneath the Earth. I was moving my arms in a manner supposed to be like the tunnel making machine. One other kid said to me 'come on, we're playing Battle Beneath the Earth!'. I said 'I am. I'm the tunnel machine and you'd better get out the way!'. Oh the look on his face of sheer shocked surprise. It was a picture. The speed at which he then dashed off was also fun

    Thank you so much for downloading this movie. I had heard of it but never saw it. Kerwin and I communicated a lot by letters and photos. He sent me an autographed photo. This was in 2001, but he had to stop as his eyesight was getting poor. What a wonderfully kind and educated man. He had a great sense of humor, also. I sent a sympathy card to his partner after his death. I cherish the letters, cards and personal photos he sent me.

    I was a teen when this movie came out and would have loved seeing it but don't remember ever hearing of it. If you have tinnitus like I do now, you might want to skip the laser tunnel machine scenes. 🤣

    1967, American public complaining about police brutality and China 'undermining' America.
    Could have been made in 2021!
    Very much of it's time, I half expected Batman and Robin to make an appearance. 😏😉

    I had never seen this movie so I enjoyed it. I thought it had some believable actors and some not so believable actors but all in all, I thought it was well done. Do you think that the James Bond movie, Dr. No, had an influence on this movie...lol..!!

      only actor I thought was a bit off was the blond guy who came walking up to table with news and just kinds said his part and and hung out there..

      It fleetingly did seem Dr. No-ish. I like the slides the lady in the pink slacks wore early on.

      This was more like Dr No Brain.
      There's the usual cheesy 60's fare,
      and then there's shite like this, that's completely beyond credibility.

    I think the general gave up too easily, I would think the other carts would also have had tool boxes on them for the bomb. Maybe not.

    "Here, let me show you. It's an atom bomb. 20 Megatons!"

      I love how all the movies of this era always had an atom bomb or nuclear power as the answer. It was like no one worried about Radiation or fallout.

    • @John77Doe
      @John77Doe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Megatons is overkill. More realistically, it should have been a few kilotons. Tsar Bomba had a yield of 50 Megatons. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
