Tesla was one of the most underrated bands of the 80's. They had great songs and a good vocalist in Jeff Keith and 2 of the best guitarist. Bass and drums speak for themselves. This is my favorite band of the 80's. I love them hands down. Tesla rules
Hometown boys. I remember talking to Frank one day on the phone and said "Hey man, you're ranked in the top 100 guitarists by Guitar World." He says "No way, man. That's awesome" Such a humble and tremendously talented dude.
Same here! South Sac Fruitridge Rd. I remember when he had the ivory Washburn when he first began. What I have seen in Frank's progression is he just keeps getting better. There was a period when he was playing the clubs in his band Kaleidoscope where he is just phenomenal.
We grew up watching that dude play in the clubs to full size arenas. A few of us were at the South Sac house where he grew up watching him play some hard rock songs including the solos. I think we were all about 12 or 13. He says to us, "I'm gonna be a rock star". Well the dude did it right.
It's so crazy. I saw them 32 years before this show as an opening act on the Def Leppard Hysteria tour (I was there for Tesla, even though it was an hour, tops), and they sound as good or better now than they did back then. Def Leppard sounded good and it was the first time Rick Allen was on tour with them since after his accident, so that was cool. Love your guys' channel! I grew up a metalhead and still love my metal as much as the rest of the stuff I expanded to now. Haha.
That Hysteria tour was epic. Actually went to two different shows for that one. Unfortunately missed their 2015 tour when it was Def Leppard, Tesla and Styx.
Went to see them open for Def Leppard when Def Leppard was touring for the Hysteria album, and Tesla had just released Mechanical Resonance. We got a show. Leppard was great as always, but Tesla blew them away. The stage was square, and the bands played to all four sides, and Tesla was absolutely full of energy and drive, and were all over the stage. Extremely impressive.
Back in the early ish 1980s I was in a band in the SF Bay Area/ Marin Co. we heard the Eric Martin Band ( 415) we’re being signed Myself, are vocalists and I believe guitarist went to see them & if they were any good. Well future Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta and Mr Big vocalist were in the band. They started playing & my best friend/vocalist walked up to me with a smile and nodded and said “ hey Bill that drummer is better then you”. We both laughed because we knew we were out of there league. Lol. Many years later & Troy is still nailing it. Thanks.
Tesla never got the credit they truly deserved as one of the top bands in the 80's. Iron Maiden is my Fav Band, But Tesla is such a close 2nd that if I had to choose 1 to see on a night it would be a struggle. JEff Keith has that voice that just stands out and Frank and Dave together they just shread! And it's pure kick ass rock and roll.
I have always seen this as a great live song. The guitarists and the rhythm section are phenomenal. It's always a big question if you like the vocals. I'm not the biggest fan of Jeff Keith's voice but know that others like it
The other guitarist is a new guy...Dave Rude, who's only been with them since 2006. He replaced Tommy Skeoch. Who was great as well. But Dave is the only non-original member. Everybody else is an original member which is extremely rare, as you know. You got Jeff Keith on vox, Frank Hannon on guitar, Dave Rude on guitar, Brian Wheat on bass, and Troy Luccketta on drums. I quit collecting the band back in '94 after their 4th album, because they took a 10 year break thru the shit '90s, but they've put out 7 more albums between 2004 and 2019. Two of which are kinda like a double album of classic rock covers in 2007 called Real to Reel & Real to Reel 2. That said, Tesla was always one of my favorite bands from that late 80s Era. In fact, when I started High School in the Fall of 1987, we had an orientation type of gathering at our Football stadium, and they had a student and former student Rock band perform on the Track. One of the songs they performed was Tesla's "Little Suzie" which was a fairly brand new song at the time. And that was one of my first exposures to Rock Music in general. The only other was from 1986's Bon Jovi "Slippery When Wet", Europe's "The Final Countdown" from my 7th Grade year. And then Whitesnake's self-titled "1987" album in the 8th grade, which I have just recently learned just mostly contained updated versions of older songs. I did hear a bit of Van Halen at this point as it was the transition between David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. But I didn't start buying Van Halen until the mid 90s.
On Metallica's Cliff Burton tribute video entitled Cliff'em All,there is a scene where James Lars and Kirk are in the house partying and listening to the studio version of this song on the stereo.
Did u really just say that TRAVIS????? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ U do realize that elon musk doesnt know who TESLA THE BAND IS!!! His car is named after NICHOLA TESLA the inventer and scientist. Trav???? Really bro.
Lol. Both the band and Elon named their product after a scientist who deveoped a form of AC electricity. But Edison was in league wit the government and pushed him and his ideas out of the market. Tesla's methods were arguably better than Edison's too.
it seems as if we were the few that understood this lol. It’s sad.. i’m not blaming or ridiculing others,. Most in the world have never heard of Nickoli(sp).. and that’s part of the song Edison’s Medicine. 💔💔💔
Saw these guys live 3 times back in the late 80's early 90's and they never disappoint. Love them so much i named my daughter Tesla.
15 Tesla shows for this old gal. They are the best! And very kind down to earth guys.
Tesla has a ton of great songs! Phenomenal band!

Bout time someone got to Tesla!!!!! Great band no one knows about. Saw them twice in the 80s. They crushed it both times!!
Me too! That first album is so good and they toured like crazy to make it happen. Met Troy once and he is such a great dude! Awesome band!!!🤘

Amazing band I saw them five times in Columbus, Ohio
No one knows about a band from 1986? Are you high?
Tommy Skeough and Frankie Hannon great live saw 10 times since 80 show always kicked ass from start to finish !
Also, this is often the opener as they're "Comin atcha Live"

One of my favorite dual lead bands of all time. And there are many, many of them.
soooooo glad to start seeing reactions to Tesla!!! And EVERYONE loves them!
They ROCK the house playing this song yay, awesome cool in concert live 🤘😆🤘🎧🎤🥁🎸🎸🎸
Frank Hannon , one of the best guitarists to ever play .

This bands so cool they came out in 80s but we're never a hair band jeans a t shirts this kicks ass awesome band need more love em
i HATE that they are lumped in as a hair band.. because they sure the eff were not! these guys were brilliant from the get go.
The Greatest thing about this song is that it's 37 years old....from 1986 on their debut album, Mechanical Resonance.
That whole album is soooo bad ass.
Greatest band of the 80's seen them so many times!
cannot agree more! seen them SOOO many times!!
Yeah man, perfect every time.
No other band I've seen more.
Five Man Acoustical Jam will always be one of my favorites 🤘

That Hysteria tour was insane. Started with Tesla as the opener and then went to Queensryche and Operation Mindcrime. That was a great 2 years.

Franky Hannon is one of my favorite guitarists. He is so good just such a great rock n roll guitarist.
Darn straight , Aztek Nightswan great guitar :) .
@@rosariocannistraro3561 yeah I really like my Aztec..
One of my favorite Tesla songs
This album is a straight up hard Rock punch to the face. I wore this CD out!
Just saw Tesla play last night. they still sound great.

MORE TESLA PLEASE!
Saw this live in 1988. And 48 times since
You should have a ❤️ button, instead of just ‘like’, for songs and bands like this!! Always loved Tesla from day one!! Thanks for doing this one!!
These guys are the real deal, Frank is a badass on the geetar. Check out "Don't De Rock me" for a great drum and guitar solo.
That song will make you get a speeding ticket. Crank it up and go.
A TESLA show is Sofa King good!! Just Straight up Rock N Roll!! Ive accidentally seen them 7 times. :)
Tesla is top-shelf, no doubt...great live show too.
I had a 73 Pontiac Lemans! It was a sunny yellow with a white top! This song would have been cool to crank up the speakers .🤘

Buen video !+
I forgot to mention Dave Rude is the other guitarist in the note lol
Rock On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved this album before most!
Side note- Brian Wheat has eaten at my sisters restaurant several times! Cool dude.
On Metallica's Cliff Burton tribute video entitled Cliff'em All,there is a scene where James Lars and Kirk are in the house partying and listening to the studio version of this song on the stereo.
Nice ☺️❤️
Back when Tesla named their band it wasn't widely known who Nikola Tesla was.
I've seen a ton of concerts, but none more than Tesla. I put them in my top with Metallica and AC/DC.
also.. i’m going to guess that your car was Shedder … the villain in TMT?
TMNT is what i meant lol
Give John 5 a try if you like shredding. Guy's insane. Black Grasss Plague is a good start.
I didn't know Cartman was in Tesla
Please react to six feet under- human target 🙏🙏... Thanks, great video by the way🤘👌
A little piece of heaven by Avegend sevenfold
Jeff’s vocals still work but lost a lot of depth over the years. Listen to a live version from the 80s for some real power to his voice.
Your kidding right ? The car wasn't named after the band.
