We start at 3 Shells Beach and walk down towards the adventure island and check out some of the bars, the famous viewing tower and more. With its seven miles of coastline, you'll be surprised just how much there is to see and do in Southend-on-Sea. Enjoy traditional seaside fun in the shape of award-winning beaches and family attractions from the world famous Pier and its mile long railway, Adventure Island fun park with its range of rides and rollercoasters, Sealife Adventure plus of course all the amusement arcades and the popular fountains on City Beach.

Hey Tim, loved watching this but at the end you said "Thank you for watching Skegness after dark" ....but you was doing Southend not Skegness lol ;)
Used to holiday there some 60 years when I was small. Took the train on the pier and walked it. Golden hind was next to the pier and Never, Neverland was always a favourite happy days.

Ah never never land! Most of that cliff ended up sliding down I believe. So pretty though with all the lights in the trees and the giant teddy bears.

Thanks once again Tim. Many years ago I set off from my home in Epsom with my wife next to me & my parents in the back of my old banger to go & see Southend for the first time. Sadly the suspension collapsed on my old banger before we got there. My company relocated me to Oslo soon after so I never ever got to see it. Thanks to you, I've seen it at last.
p.s. Just at the end of the video you say that you are in Skegness after dark. I've never been there either.

Great video … just as I remembered it from Thursday night 😂 we had an awesome time in Adventure Island.. £20 wristband for unlimited rides and it’s half price after 5pm , we stayed till 10pm to experience it at night time too , I’d say it’s a very underrated amusement park as there are so many really good rides for everyone 👍

I found most of the locals quite reserved. Until that is I said "now then" (traditional Yorkshire greeting) and you see their faces light up. well except one prick in the Wetherspoons but then there's always one

Old Southender here, lovely vid. what I like about it and other places is to look above the lights at the architecture of the buildings they are in. art deco, victorian, georgian, all mashed together. Same thing with southend high street, I see you've a vid on that. yes down ground floor its grim but looking up there are some wonderful, interesting buildings there.

It’s Southend NOT Skegness Tim and it’s Adventure Island NOT fantasy island. Very offended as a local to the area who watches your videos!! If you’re going to do a video on the STUNNING Southend at least make sure you know where you are!! Mega lol! Love your vids though

Hi Tim thanks for the video which totally belies the headline, a pity some people won't bother to read further. As the City councillor for Tourism in Southend it is great to see how great Southend is for all ages and brings back maby nemories. 7 miles of beach, 7+ railway stations and 7M visitors a year. So we must be doing something right. Of course the city is not just Southend, we have the great historic fishing village of Leigh to the west and East Beach Shoebury and loads of beach huts to the east. Great parks and gardens and today both the seafront and the town were buzzing fireworks are in the autumn/winter. Great festivals like City Jam in September a street art festival, Southend Music Festival 2-4 September at Southend Airport with international headliners. Halloween parade in October seen last year by 30,000+ Christmas on Sea. Luminocity light festival in February seen last year by over 200,000. We are headlining tourism and culture for our economic recovery. Incidentally there was a fire at the Wimpey hence its closure.

Another great night-time video, and this time it didn't even need rain reflections to enhance it. As an East Londoner I've visited Sarfend since I was a kid, which was before time began, and have life-long friends living there and always enjoy my trips to see them. Not a bad place to live actually, with a decent shopping centre and only an hour from London on the train.

Just come back from a 3 nights stay at park Inn hotel, we had a view of the fair and pier, beautiful at night. I love the seafront there. 😊 Brilliant video 👍

@@WalkWithMeTim ,Well yes Tim, lots of Birders would sit on top of the shingle bank in the autumn looking out over the sea for returning migrants on their way back to Africa Spain, Portugal and more etc, we would lie on our backs looking up into the night sky and also across the sea looking for Shearwaters, Petrels etc, we used to sleep rough in the Bird hides surviving on a Mars Bar, a Lump of Bread Pudding and a flask of Te all for 50p from Nancy’s Cafe I in Cley Village, once I got a job I didn’t need to hitchhike any more, staying at. The Harnser B &B in the village ( Now Cooks of Cley ) I believe, we weren’t birdwatchers , we didn’t wear Sunday best, we wore old grubby Barbours, we were serious Birders willing to sleep anywhere to find that 1st for Britain. I’ve never been one for the Traditional seaside holiday, preferring the Scillies, and other windswept places around the UK , your videos are very good, very informative and obviously very popular and enjoy watching them but would I go to many of the places you feature, probably not, I cannot claim to know the North Norfolk Coastline that well, just a few birding places I used to frequent, Holme, Titchwell, Snettisham Wells, Holkham Pines and not forgetting Weybourne sewage works, cos where there’s Poo there’s flies and that attracts Martins, Swifts, Swallows, hope you are enjoying the nice weather, your live video was very good, bye for now Mike

Hi Tim did you film this on Saturday the 21st August cos it was the Blue Moon that night . It comes only every few years hence the saying once in a Blue moon . It's supposed to be bigger and nearer to the earth should be a orange or red colour. This was lovely I love seaside towns at night the funfair looked amazing. Brilliant tour of the Southend :) Hope to visit Adventure Island one day and have a go on some rides. Would like to try out the elevators outside the park too. Wonder if theres any
One Day in the future would be cool to See Jersey (Channel Islands) at Dusk. Would be nice to have a walk through the main town. The weathers a bit on and off lol.
And Because i've been Blackpool earlier on in the year. Would be awesome to see the Illuminations too :)

When we cruise from Tilbury at night I do love looking out for Southend. It looks spectacular lit up.
Best view is the from the bar at the palace hotel, several floors up at the top of the cliffs (big white building) great at night.
The pier it looks new haven't been for a long time
