I really like Infernoble at the moment, feels like you can play through a decent amount of interruptions and still end with a nice board, and has good room for non-engine, and the boards you can end on feel pretty nice
I think tbh the only thing I say badly about Infernobles if you're an ace with the deck, it is megaminded so in long tournaments it may slip since it is draining to pilot.

I am interested as to how playable Virtual World is right now. Obviously, VFD is still gone, but the XYZ armor stuff gives the deck a new line that goes plus 2. Add the trap guarantees Tzolkin getting a card to set, and you can pitch it for a VW effect then add it back with Dark Knight. On the other hand, as I'm typing this comment, I am thinking of more and more scenarios where this deck struggles against almost every relevant hand trap,
The biggest issues with VW are twofold 1 loses really hard going second and 2 you need insane hands for the boards to be meaningful. Also you can't play much non engine

Hey Unchained player here, who's been testing the new Pend Zarc deck. Think it's very underrated and got 5 people from my locals who converted after watching me play. It's a combo deck easily around the level of Manadium, Mikanko, VS or Infernoble Knights imo. The thing that makes it very competitive is the ability for pend to run a high amount of non-engine in the deck finally (I run 24 engine and 16 non-engine!), and ability to make multiple boardwipes (Zarc and supreme king clear wing great against R-ACE), omni-negates (Vortex and Borreload savage) and generic staples (Apo and S:P). Hope I made a good case for it being around Tier 2
Labrynth, after Richmond, always manages to scoop 3-4% of the win spots and i think its a solid choice. People hate on it as it is a trap based deck. Always worth the play.
As a Hero Player, I really think that the deck is underrated. It's biggest problem is to play around stuff, but as an experienced Hero Player I am often able to play around 1 or 2 handtraps including stuff like Nib, excluding Droll because that fucks up the whole deck hahaha
The problem with heroes and I play it is that it's do so much to end on so little and banking to draw rivalry+ dark angel lock. Almost every deck in the format rn outs angel and first turn blind plasma is neg. Then you have to account for all the 1 of bricks and droll being a blow out don't make it aby easier.
I think problem is that you don't know which floodgate hurts the opponent's current hand. If there was a way to incorporate dolphin and build a board according to what you saw WITHOUT going into 60 card territory, it would be pretty good. DPE just doesn't cut it on its own while DLaw, Plasma and Angel beat some opponent's hands but get hosed by others.
@@gravemind76 the one of bricks are really annoying, drawing things like Miracle, Poly, Neos or Plasma is not really bad and can be good depending on the rest of the hand, but drawing thinks like Favorite Contact or Increase is annoying af xD. And yeah, Droll kills the deck, no debating. I myself play Dark Angel with Rivalry in the Side cause Dark Angel is too outable without Rivalry in the wrong matchup. That's why I depend on the classic endboard of DPE + Dark Law + Favorite Contact with Liquid and possibly Miracle as back up. It's not the most insane depending on the matchup like the destruction effects benefit Unchained, but it's good against R-Ace or Tear. Plasma + DPE is also a neat board, cause with DPE Plasma can't be as easily outed in the BP as it would be standing alone
Just wanted to mention that there are actually other going First Mikanko variants (a Isolde variant got top 32 at YCS Dortmund) than the cancer Acid Golem one
I think Exosister has a decent spot in the format as it matches up well against Unchained and tear then supplements Purrely and Rescue-ACE through non engine but it lacks consistency at times and is very limiting in what it can and cannot play. For example you rarely make Little Knight, you can't play something like Gen and Ken and Nibiru isn't a playable side deck option. What are your opinions Josh?

It seems like labyrinth kind of fell off a cliff; is there a particular reason for that? I don't play the deck, but I do enjoy trap decks, so I am curious as to why the best one is seemingly off the map rather suddenly.
There is another Mikanko build that uses synchrons adventure token cards. It make unbreakable boards going first and breaks boards going second. I think it might be better than the acid Golem build.
I would give a shout out to Runick, but the popularity of Shifter really screws the Deck over sadly. Still, it's funny how Runick Stun was seeing increasing popularity due to the existence of Time-Rending Morganite
I made a stun deck without Runick but using time rending morganite and I caused myself to deck out and lose from drawing faster than my opponent lol I would sit on Boarder and Jowgen both equipped with moon mirror shield which was nice at first until my opponent just waited for me to deck myself out lol I'll have to try it in Runick stun so I can deckout my opponent faster than myself
Lancea's kind of targeted hate for floo and it's even good into other matchups, like it drops r-ace's ceiling slightly, gives manna a hard time by shutting off their access to astraloud, etc
It seems decent, but it has the problem that you still need an additional board breaker of some kind to break through the rescue ace board, and it's not much good against the other decks in the meta, especially since droll has more favourable matchups overall and accomplishes something very similar into rescue ace
I don't think Lancea is the call. Floo can still do their combo (even if their follow up is now reliant on opening additional engine for next turn) and most other decks don't care for it. If you really have to side for Floo, backrow hate and usual handtraps are enough imo.
@@arobnugzo6818 Kills map, kills prospy so they can't dig for feather storm, a starter, etc. The deck is already bricky so cutting off access to those two cards is gonna make them rely on hard opening advent/robina.
I am currently exploring going second kashtira. It can play droll / Shifter as well as lava golem, since the normal summon isn't recuired. In the side you bring the FUN cards like deck lockdown and silent graveyard and it gets some good stuff for game 2/3
The 2 decks I’ve been playing lately are Gate magician and salamangreat. I’ve always loved sleeper decks/teir 2 or 3. An right now it feels so good to play lower teir decks. I love this format, idk why “pros” hate diverse formats. This format is a blast in my eyes.
Pendulum Magician/Zarc deck? It'snot really seen play recently in TCG, however in the OCG it's really showing its strength, was an old fave of mine, curious if it can be revived and updated after AGOV.

Round 2 I will side in 3 cosmic and 2 storm and 1 Duster and win that maybe but Round 3 they go first and set a bunch of solemns and do the EEV play and I can't do anything lol It's like I could main deck 6 cards to beat Lab but then I'd lose way more to the prevelant combo decks so to be good against the most decks makes me vulnerable to Lab destroying me 😂

Honestly im not really sold on the hype around Rescue Ace even with the statistics we have. Using Imperm or Veiler on the ambulance almost always turns their end board to shit. Of course they're very hard to deal with when allowed to have their full set up but you could say the same about any viable deck.
Why labrynth is not working well is because there are too many kinds of meta decks that it is difficult to meta them, just like the reason why we can't have targeted hate at flu. Is this understanding right?
I don't think so at all. It hasn't seen enough representation so we're safe for now lol if anything they will eventually hit tip to 1 and the field spell to 1 but that's the worst I can see happening
Somewhat unrelated but wondering what the best protag anime deck is currently that may be able to perform in a tournament. Currently playing RDA and it being restricted to Dark Dragon Synchro is kinda annoying… I know I can use other Extra deck cards but they’d be limited to being used the turn after a combo most of the time. probably depends on how far you are reaching for "protag" decks. z-arc is pretty strong right now but fuzzy as to whether you count that as a Yuya deck or not. the best bet is likely code-talkers/cyberse pile. New firewall support and accesscode kinda make it a non-competition.
Therion abc synchron. Highest ceiling for number of negates you can put on board. I regularly get 5-8 negates turn 1. I think droll is the only thing that holds it back at all.
Is Dog really all that good against Unchained? Dog can't break the Escape+Ceaser+link2 board to my experience (maybe I just played against bad Dog players but Ceaser just stops everything imo) and Ritual does not mill enough ED spots imo. RACE and Floo just hose Dogmatika since they don't care about ED at all. But hey, just my experiences, maybe better Dog players will make the deck top in some places.
Has anyone tried Instead of using 18 tech cards, what about adding Runick (including Runick Allure) to a Purely deck? Or if not runick what about using a Lyrilusc engine? That's another lvl 1 xyz based deck I would think would be good. If you wanted to go crazy with it maybe even tribrigade lyrilusc with purely lol
What do you think of dragon link right now? They're all over the place in master duel but I feel like they kinda vanished in TCG because they got hit so hard by the banlist. Are they still viable / something to watch out for in any way?

Runick decks are probably playable but its quite hard when a lot of different decks are expected since you usually only have room for 5-6 non engine and im not sure if you can find some that are good enough for all the various matchups
What do you think of Runick Fur Hire Spright? Or other Spright variations. I feel that Spright is better in a narrower format, but I can see Runick Fur Hire still doing stuff. But I really don't know tbh.
The issue with fur hire Spright is 1 an awful tear mu, 2 I think it really suffers into rescue ace going second. And also ip into sp really hurts the deck
Bysstials are great vs mannadium. Banishing visas in the GY before they have access to astraloud is crazy. Put them on do they have samsara. Also a big body on board that can beat over s.p Idk how but he forgot about labrynth
I'm really liking cyber dragon spright, now that ariseheart is gone. It's essentially melffy spright but it has an in-engine way to out Race, unchained and quite a few other tier 2 decks as well. It also has the flexibility to take out the melffy package completely for other tech choices as required and the extra deck is fairly flexible with 3 free slots and a couple of other slots you could switch out if really needed. It's worst matchups are probably floo, manadium and plants, but it has 12 non engine slots (in a 40 card list) and the side deck that it can use to keep those decks to a more manageable level. Bonus points, it has a searchable kaiju for purrely and has 12, 1 card starters making it extremely consistent. It can technically play under shifter if needed too so it's not completely killed off by that and can run it for tear if needed.
The set up of Recue Ace not caring about what deck you are playing against is not true. Is you play against purrely you better have the field spell out, or tear with mudragon. Also as people prepare for the deck, it has to deal with evenly, lightningstorm, etc. Thats why the % was less in santa cruz and the % will lilely be less in richmond too.
true, that matchup can be tough for Rescue Ace despite setting up, however whatever end board you go for usually has some form of negate for the Field Spell if you save it for that

Time has proven it once again bro, richmond proves once people respect Rescue ace, the decks is not as strong. Unchained finals and win demonstrates the format is very balanced but also than unchained keeps being more resilient than the rest, specially in a heavy hantrap format where a mere imperm shuts down rescue ace and a droll shuts down manadium and shifter tear. Unchained wins 3rd ycs, and a rookie, proves probably is the real best deck. I would love to hear your opinnion on video.
I'm curious of the World Premiere support it gets. I don't think Konami wants TCG getting T0 before OCG, anymore. They're holding back Gold Pride support since Gold Pride, as is, is actually 'decent'. I think Tistina is ahead of the curve with its mechanics and will slide in a later m format.. I feel like they're also holding off on War Rocks and Myutants to not accidently create a situation. If they give WR access to a 1 card Meteoragon/Medium. It will turn into a floodgates deck. Myutants will turn into a banish grind. Then there is Ghoti. I hate the deck but I know it can be a pain to deal with.
As a certified R-ACEist, the deck randomly dies to hand traps, even cooks it unless they side in some suboptimal cards, and superpoly can be pretty funny against the deck

Issue with lab is that it struggles going second for 1 and there's not an easy 3-6 normal traps to hit the entire format
They need to ban EEV already.

Currently playing RDA and it being restricted to Dark Dragon Synchro is kinda annoying…
I know I can use other Extra deck cards but they’d be limited to being used the turn after a combo most of the time.

probably depends on how far you are reaching for "protag" decks. z-arc is pretty strong right now but fuzzy as to whether you count that as a Yuya deck or not. the best bet is likely code-talkers/cyberse pile. New firewall support and accesscode kinda make it a non-competition.

Therion abc synchron. Highest ceiling for number of negates you can put on board. I regularly get 5-8 negates turn 1. I think droll is the only thing that holds it back at all.
How does it do going second?
@@zephyrrrr4813 rev synchron can make brd. There are so many starter cards that you can usually play through disruptions. Droll sucks though.
I think dogmatika will start popping up now because of decks like unchained
KenGen is also absolutely ridiculous in the deck, which helps it a lot

Is Dog really all that good against Unchained? Dog can't break the Escape+Ceaser+link2 board to my experience (maybe I just played against bad Dog players but Ceaser just stops everything imo) and Ritual does not mill enough ED spots imo. RACE and Floo just hose Dogmatika since they don't care about ED at all. But hey, just my experiences, maybe better Dog players will make the deck top in some places.

Has anyone tried Instead of using 18 tech cards, what about adding Runick (including Runick Allure) to a Purely deck? Or if not runick what about using a Lyrilusc engine? That's another lvl 1 xyz based deck I would think would be good.

Runick decks are probably playable but its quite hard when a lot of different decks are expected since you usually only have room for 5-6 non engine and im not sure if you can find some that are good enough for all the various matchups

The issue with fur hire Spright is 1 an awful tear mu, 2 I think it really suffers into rescue ace going second. And also ip into sp really hurts the deck

Bysstials are great vs mannadium. Banishing visas in the GY before they have access to astraloud is crazy. Put them on do they have samsara. Also a big body on board that can beat over s.p

I'm really liking cyber dragon spright, now that ariseheart is gone.
It's essentially melffy spright but it has an in-engine way to out Race, unchained and quite a few other tier 2 decks as well. It also has the flexibility to take out the melffy package completely for other tech choices as required and the extra deck is fairly flexible with 3 free slots and a couple of other slots you could switch out if really needed.
It's worst matchups are probably floo, manadium and plants, but it has 12 non engine slots (in a 40 card list) and the side deck that it can use to keep those decks to a more manageable level.
Bonus points, it has a searchable kaiju for purrely and has 12, 1 card starters making it extremely consistent. It can technically play under shifter if needed too so it's not completely killed off by that and can run it for tear if needed.

The set up of Recue Ace not caring about what deck you are playing against is not true. Is you play against purrely you better have the field spell out, or tear with mudragon.
Also as people prepare for the deck, it has to deal with evenly, lightningstorm, etc. Thats why the % was less in santa cruz and the % will lilely be less in richmond too.
true, that matchup can be tough for Rescue Ace despite setting up, however whatever end board you go for usually has some form of negate for the Field Spell if you save it for that

And Yeah, you are right, but that is usually so easy to work out with non engine. Time has proven it once again bro, richmond proves once people respect Rescue ace, the decks is not as strong. Unchained finals and win demonstrates the format is very balanced but also than unchained keeps being more resilient than the rest, specially in a heavy hantrap format where a mere imperm shuts down rescue ace and a droll shuts down manadium and shifter tear. Unchained wins 3rd ycs, and a rookie, proves probably is the real best deck. I would love to hear your opinnion on video.

I'm curious of the World Premiere support it gets. I don't think Konami wants TCG getting T0 before OCG, anymore. They're holding back Gold Pride support since Gold Pride, as is, is actually 'decent'. I think Tistina is ahead of the curve with its mechanics and will slide in a later m format.. I feel like they're also holding off on War Rocks and Myutants to not accidently create a situation.
If they give WR access to a 1 card Meteoragon/Medium. It will turn into a floodgates deck.
Myutants will turn into a banish grind.
Then there is Ghoti. I hate the deck but I know it can be a pain to deal with.

As a certified R-ACEist, the deck randomly dies to hand traps, even cooks it unless they side in some suboptimal cards, and superpoly can be pretty funny against the deck
Evenly used to be really good, but they mix it up with other ED engines and do cyberse plays to put up negates now so idk.

@@SicilianAmericanDreams I sometimes put rogue and tier 2 in the same basket even though they aren't the same. (Edit). I don't think spright has the results for any higher than tier 2 and I the question was more referring to how it matches up against the current meta.
@@joelpaultre7440 it is weird how representation of spright variants has dropped significantly lately, I think people are just interested in trying all the new good cards but I don't think spright has really gotten worse or powercept necessarily so I think it has a great match up with many META Decks.
Someone else told me unchained has advantage over spright variants but I'm not sure why specifically

@@SicilianAmericanDreams spright has gotten at most 2 tops at the past few ycs. That puts it around labyrinth in terms of results. I also wouldn't consider it top 5. I would put (not necessarily in order) rescue ace, unchained, tearlament, purrely, and mannadium/infernoble in the top 5.
