I'd 10x rather take the risk and have a hug from my mom than not and you act like this is some small delicate baby. That child is at least 5 or 6 and old enough to understand.
for those of you who don't know, the husband would have rather she lived with this condition than go through with the regular surgery, so he threatened to leave her with their daughter if she went through with it. Bad husband Imo
I understand why he'd want his wife to live with the condition: (1) the method has never been performed before, (2) their daughter wouldn't have a mother anymore, and (3) post-surgery complications. But the threat is just ridiculous. Who even does that?
@@SneakNationCEO But she was slowly dying from the condition anyways, so her daughter would lose her mother regardless. Just, with the condition it will take longer but that would be more painful death. This method they are discussing here is a 2nd option of treatment which they never tried before. Earlier, their proposition was to remove the patient's adrenal glands through the surgery, which would cause her to be on steroid replacement for the rest of her live. That therapy would most likely bring a new set of symptoms. The mom character wanted to undergo the surgery and remove the adrenal glands, but her husband threatened her, that if she goes through with it, he's going to leave and take her daughter away with him, so she agreed to leave the hospital without any treatment. As you can see, Dr. Murphy caught her just in time so he can tell her about the second, safer option. I just watched the short where you can see what I described here, I can put a link to it if you'd like.
1. I’m glad the mom ended up being ok 2. As the mom die to what the husband had said prior I would give the husband a death glare and say “I got better for me and her (daughter)” then file for divorce once recovered enough and depending on circumstances will determine custody (mom most custody if she heals well)
I love dr Murphy, but one thing I have noticed in some of my friends that watch the good doctor is that they think every autistic person is like him. I know that some autistic people are like him. Not saying that there is anything wrong with the show, but I do think there is something wrong with my friends and how they listen and under things. I have autism as well and I’m nothing like dr Murphy but they still believe that every autistic person is like him(I have told them way to many times that I am autistic) But I still love the show and it actually inspired me to want to be a doctor of some sort.
It's cause autism is always paired with savant syndrome in shows and movies. It's never just an autistic person, cause movie and show makers feel that doesnt interest audiences as much. So you end up with every person on screen having savant syndrome, alot of people in real life don't know alot of autistic people, so the assumption comes about that that's part of autism and not a seperate thing
Autism is different for every single person who is diagnosed with it. Just like everyone else, everyone is different and everyone has gone through different experiences
That husband wants full control of the little girl..thats why he dashes in front of the daughter to prevent her hugging mummy, just grasping the hug for himself. That jealousy is so recognisable as I was also married to a control freak. Dangerous, self important people, who use supposed concern while grabbing and grasping all the attention. 🤨
Or maybe because the mom hasn’t walked in so long that her muscles have atrophied, and she can no longer support a 40 pound child, jumping into her arms
I feel like if they made a spin-off of doctor house and Doctor movie together it would be like Gray's anatomy but way better it'll be like Gray's anatomy reality TV
It's probably stress related if this illness has been affecting them for a while. I knew a guy whose dad had a medical emergency and it seemed like he aged 10 years in just 1. It's crazy what your body can go through when it's trying to recover from something traumatic.
I instinctively disliked this woman until I realized it was because she played a drug-addicted terrible mother on the show "Major Crimes." Great actress.
So it's it's "safe and effective" and somehow "never been done before". I've never in my life heard a doctor say something with 100% certainty other than their names.
It's never been done before. They don't know the outcome or how it will affect her. But assure her that it's safe. This is why I don't trust some doctors.
Shaun: It's like popping a pimple. Dr. Brown: *gives advice while Shaun is leading it* Shaun: *gives a 'will it work?' look* Dr. Brown: I've popped my share of pimples.
If you paid attention, it makes perfect sense in context. In the original surgery, both adrenal glands would be removed. In the new and improved surgery, the adrenals would be drained, aka like "popping a pimple," but NOT removed, therefore meaning less invasive and safer.
