"The first time I ever really listened to Kyle Kulinski’s show was in the back of a cab last summer. The driver had his phone hooked up through the stereo and was pumping out an episode through the car speakers - loudly, as if looking to convert a captive audience.
“Do you like Kyle Kulinski?”
The driver, Ahmed, was a recent immigrant and apparently a die-hard fan of Secular Talk, the political talk show that Kulinski broadcasts on TH-cam. I told him, yes, in fact. I do like Kulinski, had come across his show several years ago, and, all things considered, he seemed pretty good.
“He understands what we’re up against,” Ahmed said. “Like Bernie.”
But I was surprised to hear Kulinski’s name mentioned in the same breath as Bernie Sanders, particularly with such adoration. Because what I did remember about Kulinski’s show struck me as mostly capital-P “progressive” takes on the news - the left wing of the Netroots crowd more than the democratic socialism Sanders has popularized.
It’s an impression that wasn’t entirely incorrect.
“I have no time for philosophical, airy bullshit,” Kulinski tells me from his home in Westchester, New York. “I don’t want to hear about Lenin. I don’t want to hear about Marx. I just want a super plainspoken, straightforward agenda with a straightforward way of selling it.”
With over 800,000 subscribers and nearly 670 million total views on TH-cam, selling a progressive agenda is clearly something Kulinski knows how to do - even Democracy Now, the long-standing flagship of progressive media, cannot match his reach on the platform. Chapo Trap House can certainly boast a wildly devoted fan base (and a not insignificant degree of media influence), but their audience is roughly half the size of Kulinski’s.
While Secular Talk might be more likely to be looped in with the progressive networks around Air America and Pacifica alums like Sam Seder than the more resolutely socialist world, Kulinski’s fiery rhetoric, razor-sharp class instincts, and knack for withering takedowns sets him apart from his peers. Judging by his rhetoric alone, he’s closer to a Eugene Debs than a Chris Hayes.
But unlike Hayes, Amy Goodman, or his friend Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks - who began airing Secular Talk on his web network seven years ago - the thirty-two-year-old Kulinski is virtually invisible in the mainstream media. Despite his enormous fan base, his show has never once been mentioned in the obligatory trend pieces on “the Millennial Left” pumped out by the prestige media. Nor has Kulinski’s name ever popped up at all in the New York Times, Vox, the New Yorker, New York Magazine, or the Washington Post, despite his leading role in cofounding Justice Democrats, the organization widely credited with sweeping Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of “the Squad” to power.
Just last week, his Wikipedia page was deleted. The reason? “There is very simply no [reliable source] coverage of this person,” according to one moderator. In new media, he’s king - the Sean Hannity of the Berniecrat left. In old media, he’s nobody.
I suspect there are a few reasons for that. There is nothing “cool” about Kulinski’s show. (As a friend put it, “‘Welcome to Secular Talk’ sounds like something you’d hear on Egyptian radio.”) His no-nonsense social-democratic politics won’t get him much cred with the Full Communism crowd. He records his show not in Brooklyn or Los Angeles, but in a studio he built himself in his modest Westchester home. His hair is too groomed and his taste in clothes too preppy to qualify as “Dirtbag Left.” Nor has he ever attended an n+1 release party. “Not only have I not attended one,” he says, “I have no idea what that means.”
And yet he’s astonishingly plugged-in for a young man in the suburbs. Wondering how Sanders ended up on the Joe Rogan Experience? Kulinski, a frequent guest on Rogan’s wildly popular show, introduced them. “You make the most sense to me,” Rogan told Kulinski on a recent episode. “You’re a normal person.”
Much like Sanders himself, Kulinski’s show has a massive audience that just doesn’t compute with our media’s understanding of “what the kids want” or even “what the left-wing kids want.”
It’s probably for the best - the very woke and very WASP-ish decorum haunting much of the media world is nowhere to be found in Secular Talk. “Corporate Democrats over-focus on identity as a trick to divert you from the issues that unite us all - class issues,” he said on a recent episode.

Calling Kamala a communist while being against democracy is insane.
Tbf the whole idea of actual communism is *supposed* to be an absolute democracy (a sort of workers Union) where everyone owns everything, and everyone gets a vote on what happens. It just...doesnt get executed that way basically ever. "Communism" lost its meaning a long time ago.

The best system is a Constitutional democratic republic. You have a constitution that is hard to change that lays out the groundwork for how the government functions and basic rights for the people, then you have a representative democracy that carries out the will of the people.
But no matter what system you have, there is going to be SOME issue with it.
The only real possible exception to this would be something like, a benevolent, immortal, and intelligent dictatorship. However, since no human is immortal, and most humans are flawed, this isnt possible in our current reality. However, should properly aligned AGI ever be made, this COULD actually fill that roll, where its goals are perfectly aligned with the good of society. Such a thing will always make the optimal decisions for what society should do to most optimally benefit society as a whole as much as possible. And since it would have complete authority, and be immortal, it would dodge most of the other problems dictatorships usually have when done by humans.
of course, the issue with making a perfectly aligned AGI is that...its easier said than done. Honestly at this point, its probably more likely we'll end up making a non-aligned AGI, in which case the outcome wont be nearly as good for us, and thats putting it lightly.

We will hopefully be come a Type 1 Civilization around the year 2100 and hopefully with that will come a new standard of human intellect and love

He needed to include it because he needs a way to include himself. He can't say autistic people should rule the world because he would be laughed at by just about everyone. But if he says only "strong" people should rule the world, and maybe some autistic people, then he is included and he has the backing of many right wingers who consider themselves strong.
It's the same thing Nazis did. They initially said only Aryans should rule. But then they widened the definition of Aryan. It's just a balancing act of the people in power trying to include *just* enough people to gain power, then taking over everything, and excluding everyone they originally intended to. Autistic people (depending on the strand of autism) are more likely to have higher intelligence than the average population (Ben Shapiro is "book smart", and seemingly autistic, Sheldon Cooper was written as an obviously autistic person, and there are probably other examples), which is probably why whoever wrote that garbage, is claiming autistic males should have more of a right to vote.
Ignoring of course that being autistic doesn't guarantee that you have ethics or morals, nor does it guarantee that you're politically literate. Ultimately, the person who wrote that passage (and Elon, who reposted it) just don't care about the wellbeing of the average person, and want to see the ultra powerful wield as much power as they possibly can (to the detriment of others).

Many people think that the quality of life of people in a country is based off whether or not they are right wing or left-wing. The reality is that the difference lies in how much representation the population has. There’s a reason why the best countries in the world are democratic while the worst countries in the world are autocratic. if you don’t have a vote, that means that the dictator doesn’t have to care about you and that is why Trump and musk want to see that.

One issue though is when ownership gets concentrated into a few hands, it does throw off the balance of power even in a democracy, and makes it easier for more power to be consolidated, not necessarily inevitable, but it’s what usually happens, so I do think the economic system matters some, although whether that system is a form of socialism or capitalism matters less, but who owns things does matter, that’s why I tend to favor market socialism and cooperatives over state planned economics and nationalization of everything (although I do that that has its place in certain industries such as healthcare, and certain resources like steel that are not profitable for us to produce but a necessary national resource to make sure is strong, and maybe some other stuff) anyway none of it even matters though if you don’t have 1 person 1 equal vote democracy (you can still have representatives and certain rules, and so on you know)
I`m brazilian and happy we are at least a little far from his idiocy now. There is one aditional information. Alexandre de Moraes is the Supreme court judge who insisted that twitter mainteined legal representative here in brazil is a right wing apointed by President Temer. Lula government is not involved in this (but of course he agrees with the country law). Our law has free speech rights but no right here is absolute. You can say werever you want but some types of speech have consequences, racist speech is a crime here. And twitter refuses to remove crimes from their platform refusing legal orders. Now musk decided he would not even listen to the liegal orders removing legal representarion. So Twitter is being blocked in Brazil until he appoints a representative and I hope he doen`t.
