The 3 series and 5 series early 2000s , x5s , the 6 series- beautiful but understated. These look like they were designed by people that did the last gen type R civic.
I’ve often wondered how MotorWeek comes up with oil consumption. It sounds like the engine is burning/leaking oil.10.6 barrels. Correct me if I’m wrong, a barrel is 40 gallons ? Yes, I know gasoline is extracted from oil. But, there’s many other things that come from a barrel of oil. MPG is the only number consumers are aware of.
It's the neu X4, they haven't fired their designer, they've doubled volume this century & are largest American exporter of vehicles on Spartanburg X & had record 2023 on 60 years of growth. This page proves design chief's claim that BMW have 20X more trolls than buyer$.
That was all due to the Chinese market which could care less about performance/handling yet really cares about appearances. Basically a redux of 1950s America.
The hideousness of this atrocity is beyond comprehension, and defies all that is natural and wondrous in our short existence. Perhaps that's the purpose of creating such a resentful shape, to question one's purpose in the universe.
It's not the 80s/90's anymore, if BMW stuck with that thinking they'd of gone bust years ago. You'll be more shocked to find they don't even make them with 'engines' anymore...
@@minimoto99a BMW with front wheel drive and transverse engine is a pointless car for people who don't know about cars and just want the badge. You may as well just get a Toyota and have something reliable and good value instead of getting duped by the German advertising
I’ve always agreed with Motorweek over the past four decades. But this review seems to end that. This thing is beyond ugly, it’s hideous. I guess it’s me, as the brand is wildly successful. But the styling of their cars over the past 5 years makes me think they need to fire the styling department. The 2 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, X1, this X2, new X3, and X7 are so bad, I don’t know what the future holds for me, someone who has owned 8 BMWs and 3 Mini Coopers
What top executive at BMW “signed off” on the design of this dog? Did they really want it to look like a Buick Envista from the rear? Just hideous body proportions 😂.
Garbage. Bmw is so dang lost these days. I rented a 228i and was baffled that it was fwd and turbo 4. Thats something id expect from way lesser brands. This thing follows that idea and makes it worse. Its gross.
It looks like they took the MINI Countryman, which it is based on, and just put BMW styling cues all over it, after squaring off the body panels. BMW doesn't seem to be able to properly style a front-wheel drive platform.
I can't believe this is an actual production vehicle...
This is right up there with the Aztek, and Cybertruck
Man I remember when BMW used to make desirable, pretty cars
CORRECT THE OTHER DAY I SAW 2 OLD BMW 535I FROM THE 1980'S AND THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL..
The 3 series and 5 series early 2000s , x5s , the 6 series- beautiful but understated. These look like they were designed by people that did the last gen type R civic.
I remember when BMW used to make Isetta.
"We made the windows into tank slits that you can barely see out of but we made up for it with cameras and sensors."
“It looks great!” No John Davis, it doesn’t.
looks like an old Dodge
Lol
@@jonwear9791very true, the Caliber I think it was, only uglier
Thank you. I get his view of beauty will differ from mine but come on…just no
Does this look like the Pontiac Aztek to anyone else, besides me?
Now that you mention...yeah a little.
Worse knock off
I’m sorry John! You’re a legend and we love you man! But that Beamer is fugly!
In person it looks really good a head turner not for older folks this is aimed towards the younger generation or if you have style
This makes the cybertruck look beautiful lol
This X2 is much better than the previous model especially in X2M form.
A face only a mother could love

They started that nonsense years ago when they went all in with the stupidity of the EVs….😏🤦♂️
@@gumbie007 Thanks Gumbie!
They need to teach their designers what the Hofmeister kink is. They don't know what the heII they're doing
BMW turned a beauty into a frog. This is hideous.
Why do you think they fired their designer
@@tyhyhh About time👍
Agree it's unbelievably ugly.

Whatever... I test-drove it today and it looks stunning.
I guess BMW stopped making those adaptive brake lights. They focused more on being hideous😂
Man that thing is ugly.
That style didn’t appeal to me on any car.
BMW cants design cars anymore. They are all ugly
Facts
Is that the shortest stopping distance of any car tested on Motorweek?
Look at a ‘03 X5 and a ‘03 Infiniti FX. Are you kidding me that BMW invented the coupe-style suv segment?
Unbelievable how bad that thing looks, anything for the profits, amazing how far BMW has fallen.
All hail John Davis
BMW sold their soul when they went front wheel drive, made everything automatic and sold more SUVs than coupés/sedans.
That was all due to the Chinese market which could care less about performance/handling yet really cares about appearances. Basically a redux of 1950s America.
They sell what people want...usually.
What the hell is this 😮

Ha ha, well said.
Imagine paying $52k for that ridiculous looking thing. 😂
When you could buy a acura integra S for the same money
@@waynerogers6621yeah, faster, better looking and better equipped. Also much more reliable. Who buys this BMW shit???
And I keep thinking BMW's can't get any uglier!
I like it. The mpg is insane on this car.
I mean it's not THAT bad looking. Might look better in Black to hide some of the awkward body lines
Why you didn't test the x2m35i is mind bogling to me. In just about every other bmw test you tested the top of the line model !!!

I wouldn’t go that far but I WILL say that they have a brand for those kinds of BMWs, the mini brand should really be the only way to get a fwd BMW
Guess you missed 700, rear-engine motorcycle drive train, like i3 ReX.
Are they going to mx2?
SEE IS NOT AN SUV..IS A SPORTS UTILITY WAGON..
"Stylish?" Umm, ok whatever lol
Rear is sick 😫
If a mini just isn't overpriced enough for you. And, you can't see out so cameras do that? That is an insane statement.
BMW benchmarking Kia now….

The back reminded me of a Buick right away as well.
another ugly bmw, nothing to see here, move along folks
absolutely horrendous
It looks awful.
Must be in the top 3 ugliest BMW’s ever

It's crazy how ugly this thing is
They didn't mention it here but the sunroof doesn't open like a Tesla but at least it has a sunshade. But I'd rather have a sunroof that opens.
If the sunroof doesn't open, why bother?
A horrendous monstrosity!
That thing was shat out of an old Edsel. Damn.
Too ugly to watch.
That is ugly asf tho .... truly terrible
Acura started the whole coup thing with the zdx but they quit too soon to rip the benefits of this sub coup buffoonery 😂😂😂
X6 was 1st, 2000 Touring was 3 door hatch. half a century ago.

It’s a SAC alright.

Ew.
I love my 2 bmw crossovers, an '06 X3 and '13 X5. I wouldn't touch that thing.
A failed attempt by BMW to stay within the Mini platform.
Ugggg, the rear looks horrible. It looks like an old Datsun 😢
Go figure its called a SAC, like most of their owners, lol at least mpgs were good,
Why not just buy the BMW badge and staple it to your forehead. It will look less ridiculous than this.
There's no way that exterior is nicer looking than the new Buick Envista, I'm sorry but it's awkward looking.
That's horrendous.
It would make a nice Honda or Acura but not a BMW.
Oh look, a grossly overpriced, unreliable CX-50 clone.
This is Americans fault
No, China. the bigger the grill the more status it has for Chinese.
