@@jjk4754 I would not say that. She is the "main" producer, if you can call it that; the professional producer is the one helping, by polishing up, giving advice, and providing experience. There are videos showing her creative process, and you can hear the snippets of the songs before they get touched by a co-producer: still amazing.
@Eric Kim Note that she also coached several of the other members in songwriting and production, so now not all of their songs are hers, merely the vast majority. :)

@@aliffaiman614 They change concept constantly, in their last comeback they use traditional korean instruments with a latin inspired beat, for Uh-Oh is 90's hip hop, Oh my god is urban hip hop, Señorita is latin, and they will probably make rock next since SOYEON has been talking about rock quite a lot recently :)
(G)I-DLE is the most musically interesting group in all of Kpop. SOYEON does a vast majority of the songwriting and production for the group. She didn't want them to take vocal lessons from all the major instructors because she didn't want them to vocally start sounding like every other group out there. SOYEON is a prodigy, she's so young and so amazingly talented. Also, almost none of their songs sound like one another. They do TONS of genre hopping, "Uh-Oh" is 90's boom-bap hip-hop, "Light my Fire" is Japanese City-pop, "Put it Straight: Nightmare Version" is like a horror movie but in pop music form, "Senorita" is a Latin-pop EDM track... they're just all over the place. They seem focused on music-first, moreso than almost any group in Kpop today.

(G)I-DLE: the name was originally IDLE, but it was criticized as it meant "children" in Korean, and being idle (never moving or changing) was considered a negative, so Soyeon added a G for girl, and a hyphen to place emphasis on the I for individual, and if I remember correctly DLE is plural. That means that the groups name is basically "a group of individuals who happen to be girls." To fully embrace the "children" meaning of the original name, the fandom is called Neverland, cuz (G)I-DLE ain't never changing/"growing up", so why should their fanbase?

Fun fact(s): LION is technically a b-side, as it isn't the title track of I TRUST - (G)I-DLE's third EP. The song was written by Soyeon - the rapper and leader of the group - for the TV music competition programme Queendom, and she pushed herself to write the best song she could possibly write as she felt the other groups competing would do the same. Spoiler alert: none of the other songs became "one of the best kpop songs of 2019." Soyeon's rap section in this is objectively her most intense rap verse to date, and possibly (definitely IMO) her best rap verse overall. The aura of pure confidence around her is incredible, especially considering her off-stage self is soft-spoken and kinda shy.
Another fun fact (I just can't stop): while she wrote the "walk a path no one has walked before" line before the release of I TRUST, it is now an undoubted fact that she is a pioneer in the kpop industry, and one of the most important female kpop artists. Not only is she an incredibly talented song-writer and producer - having written the vast majority of (G)I-DLE's discography - but as she wrote every single song on I TRUST without a co-writer, she is officially the first female kpop artist to write an entire EP by herself; walking a path no one has walked before.
Oh, and she holds the record of most syllables per second during a rap verse for a female rapper (8.32), as well as holding a Guinness World Record for "hanging up 5 t-shirts the fastest"... I'm not joking. 🤣🤣

But I'm personally way more impressed by I-DLE performances, most memorable for me.
Also the song got nominated for KMA ( korean music award ) which an award based on the quality of the music because critiques nominated the best songs
I LOVE Soyeon! She has such a confidence that she brings to every single song she's a part of, whether it be her solo stuff, (G)I-DLE, or K/DA. You should definitely check out Oh My God and Senorita by (G)I-DLE as well, as those songs also really show Soyeon's incredible style.
If you went over their entire discography, you'd have incredible content here. Their music is truly different, and you'd find all sorts of themes and connections throughout. My recommendation for the next G-Idle song is definitely "Oh My God". It is the controversial one, full of imagery and storylines. Keep up the great work! 😁😁😁

Soyeon is a very good rapper. She even got the chance to participate in a survival show of female Korean rappers (Unpretty rap star season 3) when she still was a trainee and she managed to get to the finals. She is very talented

Thank you soo much for the reaction! Idle is one of the two girl groups I listen to( the other is Mamamoo). You said it right, they are different. I recommend you to react other songs from them. They are a phenomenon in K-Pop industry. They are one of the few girl groups that actually produce and write their own music. Many people don’t recognise how big thing is it, and how important it is, especially for future idols. Idle writing and producing their own music can set a new trend and give the possibility to future idols to do the same and not just sing something written by others. I think this is what people should recognise and praise, because this is what brings art and music further.
They always set the level high for everyone dreaming to reach it (good example: Queendom, I believe it's thanks to their 1st performance there that all groups gave their 200% then)
They paved the way for future idols especially female ones who are still to shy to try the produce path.
