Yuri as a kid was ordered to assesinate count Varley daughter because was the heir of one of the imperial nobility families, and had a crest, but when yuri was about to kill her one night while she was sleeping he couldn't do it because of the time they lived, then count Varley enters bernadetta room snd find him, thats why he got beaten, Count Varley, surely for selfish reasons, but that doesn't take the fact that he protect his daughter, maybe he wasn't as horrible as we thought
@@davidsamudio3899 okay, relax. Again someone missing the point. Yuri was being a dick by not knowing what Count Varley eventually did to his own daughter. He was being insensitive. The point of the chain was "Could you still like me, Bernadetta if I was sent to kill you?" not "Oops well Count Varley was such a good father you know".
Count Varley is still a bastard, regardless if Yuri had been sent to assassinate Bernie.
I thought that’d be addressed in their support chain but sadly it wasn’t.
Honestly, I was half expecting this to be Dorothea and Yuri in a competition to flirt with as many men and women as possible and to see who snags a spouse first considering that they're the most comfortable with their sexualities.
I am pleasantly surprised.

Yuri is such a torte, since Ashe is a cinnamon roll. Although those two should’ve have a support conversation too since they have their unique dialogue. Hopefully they will if the update stops at 1.5

I love how they work as a couple on multiple ways. Like yes they're the bi king and queen and have great chemistry. But they also have similar pasts that allow them to relate to each other as well as shared traumas. And in the end they both grow from their relationship and explore new things together. Just ugh. Amazing support.
Okay, I am still disappointed that Yuri doesn't have supports with Claude or Ashe, but this one can stay. Yuri, and the ashen wolves for that matter, need more supports, I wanna see Hapi have conversations with Seteth on matters regarding the church, and Marianne about animals. I wanna see Balthus talk to Leonie about finances (especially since Balthus is in debt and Leonie is a penny pincher), and see him try his luck with Manuela. I wanna see Constance talk to Annette about their mutual friendship in Mercedes and see them create new magic together; and support about "the duties of a noble" and working to rebuild her house with Lorenz. Why can't I have my tea loving nobles all support one another. I love the wolves, I just wish they had more supports.
On the note of Constance I would like to see her support Marianne and Bernadetta because Low Self-Esteem Squad unite

I love Yuri but at the same time I am so confused about this lad. He is only 20 years old pre timeskip and he has been adopted by House Rowe, was hired as an assassin to kill Bernadetta and ended up befriending her, spent enough time in Enbar to see Dorothea on stage night after night. Joined the officers academy and had enough time to become not only a spy for Rhea but become the leader of Abyss. When did this kid get the time

Yuri was essentially working as a child prostitute in enbarr, and while there he was able to see dorothea on stage. Count Rowe adopted him for… the child prostitute reasons. You can see in the cindered shadows play through that yuri hates rowe, understandably

The way Yuri talks in the A support about how "disgusting nobles" settled for an "inferior substitute" and feeling "filthy and unlovable." And how he went through life "licking the boots of wretched nobles."

PD: is very possible because in Manuela and Flayn support, Manuela says that:
"The talent isn´t enough to earn your position...I spent many night buttering up nobles in power, no matter how humiliating the task, I´d do it, Because I wanted to be a star"
So it can be assumed that you need to obtain the nobles "favor" in some dirty ways to have a place in the opera.
I think it's a bit of both. He sees Dorothea on stage and thinks that she's lucky that she doesn't have to go through what he does (but in reality, Dorothea's situation may have been even worse.)
By things he's going through, I think something akin to assult or even doing... less then great things (to put it as vague as I can) isn't that far of a strech given Yuri's circumstances.
His mother was a prostitute and he worked as a child prostitute when he was around 11-14 years old. That’s also around the time count rowe adopted him…

Is it just me or is Yuri just too damn cool? I don't hold anything against Forrest, but I've got to admit I was a bit afraid Yuri would be just a clone of him in Three Houses. I'm so glad that they decided to make him this way.

Huh... This works pretty well.
Yuri is an incredibly well written character. Appears to be the border between prankster and suspicious character but he is actually a really heartfelt character who feels like a real person almost in a way. He's bi Claude but (incoming hot take) better.

I never got the hype behind Claude, I was expecting to love him but I felt really underwhelmed with his character when I played his route
Claude is supposed to be different from Yuri in motivations. So whoever someone likes more is opinion based I'd argue
He is good, but by no means better, he lacks the cunning and kind heart that makes Claude stand out. Also Yuri is a bit boring compared to Claude.
I don't really hate Claude, but I honestly dislike him. I'm prepared to be crucified for saying this.

i get that the implication count rowe adopted him for sexual purposes is more explicitly said in three hopes but its not like yuri's backstory is fully obscured here in three houses

They don’t happen in the same country or continent, and though it’s not explicitly stated it’s highly likely the games don’t take place in the same world. The characters are just reaaaalllly similar. The only games that take place in the same world as far as is known are echoes, awakening, the Marth games and the Jugdral games.

@@foxshock5571 The point of the DLC was A) a chance to see the three houses leaders working together before they go at each other's throats in part 2, B) get some very interesting characters added to your party, and C) Learn more about Byleth's mother. It may be a side story that doesn't really affect the main story for sure, but think of it like it's an film of an long-running anime. Sure, events in it may not affect the main story that much, but it does hold intresting information and some great characters.
