Ive got into a habit of kicking the chain when I get on the bike. I use my bike all the time so it stretches a lot, such a pain in the arse but im lucky that the adjustment on a VFR is easy.
Hi Ray, yep a new chain even though new will stretch so you have to keep checking it. Depending on how you ride can affect the chains tension eg low speed snatchy chugging, hard acceleration and riding long distance. Secondly, you have the conditions; wet roads, dry dusty roads, heat and cold .... Its a tough life being a chain on a motorcycle. Check your chain daily and adjust it according to the manual.
