Perfect timing Will, as tomorrow morning I'm planing a ride, but I have no time really for the normal 2 hour digestion period! Great info, and a few myths were put to bed thanks!
great video and content. Carbs I find so easy to ingest.. I'm a sucker for toast and jam and fruit. But after watching your protein & fat videos, then this, i cant imagine downing 30g protein before a ride.. that's like 5 eggs. What protein sources do you suggest? Also especially for endurance, for rides longer than 4 hours, what high protein/low fat do you suggest?
Great advice! how is the pre ride fuelling related to what was eaten the previous evening. Does the amount of carbs eaten the evening before an effect on carbs required in the morning
previous evening only matters if you trained in the evening and then going into an early morning session otherwise total day intake is more important due to glycogen stores
Once again thank you for this educational video, Will. It was actually a question I wanted to ask on the live Q&A this coming Friday. But all answered now. )) and I’m glad to know that after learning a lot from your videos I’m doing everything right so far, almost everything 💪🏻

Should i eat while im in the bike as well. I usually eat a slice of bread with jam 30 minutes before. And while im on the bike i consume 70 grams of maltodextrin and fructose mix for a 60 minute very had threshold bike workout. I was wondering if im over eating or im doing it right. What do you think is that a right approach?
Hey Mugammad - Super interesting question To fully digest would depend on protein and fat.. simple high gi carbs will take 15-20mins - so fat and protein will slow that down beyond that
0 to 70 grams is a wide range, for someone who weight lift and train in the morning a 40 minutes after eating, is 40 grams of carb, 26 protein and 12 fat ideal? Or what can I pump up to improve it? Cheers!
Hi Will! I love your energy bar recepie but I made with honey, because I can't buy golden syrup in Hungary (atleast I can't find any :) ). But now I'd like to eat more vegan foods so honey is not an option. How can I subtitute golden syrup? Maple, agave, date, rice syrup?
AHhh nice Tamas!! It's definitely a popular one! Date would be decent but strong tasting to maybe try. Maple would be ideal but is quite runny so you might need to cook it all abit longer
Hi Will. So would it be 75g-150g of carbohydrate a few hours before training or before bed? And during training should I take more carbohydrates, even if I have ingested 150g? Thanks!
it would be before a session none of this is the evening before. And if the session is over 90mins I would still take on carbs during but the amount depends on overall duration and intensity
Came over from Cade. This is GOLD, thanks Will!
Love the content! Pretty hard to wrap my head around it though, would you know where to find charts where this kind of information is summed up?
Me too. Got here from Cade media. Good stuff!

Useful and informative session. Nicely done Will.. 👍
Thanks so much as always James! i wonder what you would like to know more about?
@@WillGirling One topic I'm keen to understand, how to identify when you're overtraining. Are there any key signs or best practices to follow?
