    Great information! Mine had an intermittent volume drop issue after a couple minutes after powering on, then it generally would resolve itself after about 10 minutes. I manipulated the headphone jack during the failures and could bring the volume in and out. I inspected the solder joints and they looked fine, however knowing they are prone to failure, I re-soldered them and the problem seems to be resolved now.

    My Fender Mustang Floor pedal has the same exact issue. Glad it's something I can fix. I love this pedal so much, and it's pretty much my sound now. So the prospect of losing it was something I was worried about

    Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. I decided to go with a mono 1/4" jack w/ switch. That way I can have 1/4" & 1/8" headphone options. I plan to mount the jack and switch on an small aluminum plate in the back, opposite the power input.

    That was really helpful! I could change both jacks out to other ones and rewire them, according to your guidance. Tank you so much!

    Very helpful vid. I was hoping you would have shown the board removed. I have a broken mini-USB jack. Can you tell me, what does it look like on the other side of that board? Is it direct mount to the board and protruding up through the case? Based on your experience, would you be willing to reply with an amazon link to what I'd have to purchase as a replacement? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    I tried this but my headphones arent working when i plug it in. I get no sound. It does shut off the speaker but no sound thru the headphones. Wondering if something is wired wrong on the jack end. I used same colors as you for wires, red instead of orange though. I have blue and yellow wired each side of middle connectors, The red for the tip and green for the barrel. Right now the red and green are on one side of the connector. The connector has 3 on each side so not sure if this is right.

    Hi Dave, my Fender mustang 3 had the same issue but I tried to do the repair and I'm just not talented enough I suppose and likely made it worse. Following your guidance was amazing though and I'm very thankful for the help, it was just a shame I lacked the skill to pull it off. I'm getting better at electrical work with pcbs but I need way more practice and started in on the wrong project.
    Would you know of a way to bypass the aux and headphone jacks completely? I tried figuring it out myself but fear a further decent into the hole I dug. I know I could bridge something from the input to the power amp if I knew where to go with it. You seem to be the most knowledgeable about this issue on YT I'd also be willing to pay for the info. Thanks again for your great explanation and if I ever had a fighting chance it was because of your help.

    Im so bummed about my mustang v v.2 the headphone jack is busted and acting like its switched all the time--meaning the speaker outs dont work for my cab. Funny thing is that the headphone jack still works even though its just a loose sleeveless hole to the contacts

    Hi man, could you please tell me how to remove the back? I removed all the screws but it seems glued on. Thank you

    • @KeithFinnie
      @KeithFinnie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used two #12 wood screws. First I removed all the existing screws, then threaded the two large wood screws into one corner hole and one of the holes next to it. I screwed them in far enough to be fully in contact with the back board, but not the frame. I carefully lifted on the two screws concentrating on the corner, gradually increasing pressure until the back began to separate. I made sure I did not apply so much force that the screws pulled out of the back board. Worked like a charm, with no damage to the back board.

      Did you replaced the original jack with the exact fender replacement part?
