I was also just informed I’ve been playing the Vanilla Dark Souls 2 instead of the Scholar of the First Sin version. WELP the one I got was on sale during Black Friday so whatever, I’ll stick with this until my brain starts bleeding cause of the frames and how mad it makes me.

not sure how after beating bloodbourne you die in ds 2 bosses. Anyway ds 2 is awesome and atmospheric souls game unique in the way.
To be fair it was late and I was sick so I was just super tired haha. That and I just suck
FIRE VID also there's health reduction after death in DS3 too for some reason, it just doesn't show you so you never really notice but its dumb as shit
DS3 is next once I beat this one, heard it’s the best one from all their games and that’s pretty interesting about the health. I don’t really get it but it is what it is
@@YT_M0yo ALSO there a ring in the chest right in front of the dragonrider boss door that makes the health reduction cap less. I've kept that ring on in my entire play through, it is sooo necessary. Dark souls 2 kind of unravels itself so bear with it, but it is sooo worth it best of luck bro

Get what you can from the town merchant in Majula. Merc him for his outfit. Use Bonfire thing to make Majula +1 (maybe +2 for the full set) and trade enough souls for him to sell you the butterfly drip (poison status cloud hits everything near you and the skirt lets you jump longer iirc).
Usually you want to wear the merchant's main gear for +XP and low weight.
Level ADP at least to 20 to get your I-frames.
If you keep the weight down you can fast roll and use Flyn's Ring to boost damage.
Now all you need is a rapier (maybe a backup too) and a strike weapon for backup.
You can power stance or dual wield with triangle/X, the charged R2 is very strong and if you like poison/bleed there's a way to do a quick triple poke that stacks the status.
It's actually a great game once you learn the quirks.
