OK so you did it again. I dissect your words and try to remain calm open and receptive to them. I always find peace there. This is so beautiful and I just love your channel. I am grateful for the amazing things you and JIM and Ember do that is just captivating and bring Joy to the ones on this end. My son passed away a few days ago from COVIC-19 and he was one of the people who played by all the RIGHT RULES OF SOCIAL DISTANCEING AND FACE MASKS. etc........I just don't get it............ SO today I just listened to you and IT WAS GOOD TO MY SOUL. Thank you so much.
You just brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss. Best wishes from Minnesota. I recently rewatched Joe Biden's 2 part interview on The Late Show, talking to Stephan Colbert about the loss of his son, and whether you are a dem or rep, no matter what your view, it is very touching, hopeful, and relevant. I hear you, and I feel your pain. Not as deeply as I imagine you are, but your response and story is raw and sad, and unfortunately, so true for too many people. My cousin died of leukaemia, and I just cannot fathom anyone losing a son or a daughter. And right now we can't have big funerals, yet we need to grieve. What a sh!##y and grim situation this world is in. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. And am thankful for the community created through Jim and Cynthia and this TH-cam channel. I wish I could remember the quote from that interview, but it was something about dealing with death and tragedy, and how at first the memories make you sad, but there WILL be a day when you remember something about your son, and that memory will make you smile. And those days will eventually come, and the smiles and joy WILL return. I guess just like the days in Alaska are so short and the fog is so thick, but with time, daylight will get longer and the fog will lift. Blessings.
You capture the winter so well! I love the drone shots. Fun watching the dutch oven on the tripod. We have used that a lot camping. Even baked cakes and cornbread in them. Love the goulash!!!! Is there a challenge cooking with the freezing temperatures? I know when I griddle and grill in freezing temps it takes longer. Love that Mrs. Meyers spray!!!! Ember looks so happy, the snow seems to satisfy her need for playing in the water.
Sassy, how have you been? The dutch oven was so much fun! I think Jim might be liking it more than the instant pot? I'm not sure yet but it's endless creative ideas like you said the bread and cakes and whewwweeeee all the good stuff. The questions is, how long will he think standing outside to cook is fun? 😂. We've been eating at restaurants again this past week and I'm missing Jims cooking already. Have a great week! :)
Hello Paddy. It has been SO much fun learning to cook on this. Kicking ourselves for not starting it sooner in live, but better now than never right? Thanks for being here with us. xo
Welcome to Kushtaka. Love that name and what it stands for. Amazing to bring a Dutch Oven into a small space, but if that what it takes to get bacon, then I understand. Now Jim will need to branch out into the world of DO baking: cakes, cornbread, brownies, the list is endless. I especially enjoyed the fade-in, fade out effects in the fog. Great images!
Thank you so much... well we recently got some supplies to do some of that baking stuff in the instant pot for christmas. That may be something Jim tries soon! 😂
You guys are killing it! Cynthia, not sure of the spelling, you have a gift of writing and Jim is an amazing cook and has the drone footage down! I don't mind isolation when I have my dog. I can't imagine my life without one. Beautiful video and your voice is soothing. Loved it!!
Dee you nailed the spelling of my name. And yes, isolation with a dog is so much easier to deal with. Dogs listen to all your problems and love you no matter what. Ember is a life saver for both of us for sure. Take care and have a great week!
Again I say, your artistry and visual storytelling is quite exceptional! Great content combined with videography and editing sets you apart. Love your channel and following your adventures. Great name by the way, it is a beast! Namaste
I can tell you guys making history with campfire cooking in the middle of nowhere in snow covered landscape below zero temperature in Alaska . We also like your van, looks like it can stand up to any kind of weather and road conditions .
Hi Guys. Open fire cooking is something we've been wanting to try for a long time and we finally have the ability to do it. It's a game changer for sure. Especially when our Solar is useless. So far, the van hasn't let us down. Just a small power steering hose leak, but if that's all that goes wrong in two years? knock on wood. Thanks for being here with us 😁
We just love your videos. The poetry and calming voice of the voice over. I guess that since our trip to Budapest, we got very tired of goulash. But I am willing to try your beef stew ;-) Especially that we brought back paprika. Note: Papika is not hot, usually not hot. So, thank you for your calming, almost meditating videos. We love to see Alaska.
Your video techniques are really quite amazing. Love your narrative as well. It's been fun following along on your adventures as it provides me an escape from the confines of the world right now. Stay safe!
I didn't know traditional goulash is made over an open fire. I worked with a fellow camp counselor at the YMCA in college, adventure wilderness camp, from Hungary. I visited the family in Budapest the following summer and he talked about his mom's famous goulash. I didn't get to taste it until several years later, when I was visiting a musician friend of mine stationed in Tokyo at the air force base, and my Hungarian friend's dad was working as an ambassador in Tokyo, so we were invited for dinner. The whole goulash video brought me back to those experiences, back when the world was open, we could just hop on a plane and travel through time and space. I grew up on a lake in frozen Minnesota, and taught ski lessons and piano lessons B.C. (Before Covid). So I get it. At least February is almost here, and in a normal year, we would be on the bus travelling to and from the ski areas, and February always meant we departed in daylight, and drove home mostly in daylight. Mid winter is so tough to catch the sun, it was always leaving in the dark, and getting home in the dark. And then it was only 5 pm but felt like midnight. I have been in Trondheim, Norway, during mid summer, when the sun never set and we were up all night around the fire singing and talking. Those days are ahead! We just have to reach deep down and pull those memories back out. Only this time around things won't exactly "go back to normal" but I do believe through enduring this pandemic and lockdown, something is shifting, globally, and we will find we have grown and learned things. At this point, it is not clear just what those things are, or how things will be, but just as the daylight is growing longer now, spring will eventually be here, with a new summer, and new adventures. Sorry if this was too long, or irrelevant, but goulash really brought back some good memories for me. So THANK YOU Cynthia and Jim!!!!
Brenda, it is great to hear from you! The goulash was absolutely amazing, you must try it sometime! You have had such an adventurous life so far! I agree with you that we have all learned from these trying times and things will get better at some point. People will be more inclined to be social with each other and I think in the end we will have have much stronger communities. Nothing you write would ever be considered irrelevant rest assured. We love getting to know people and this is one way for us to get to know you! Hopefully we can sit next to that campfire and swap stories at some point! for now.. stay safe and stay happy!
I have had cars in the past that the doors seals froze in the winter preventing me from getting to work on time. A friend suggested using a spray bomb of rubber safe silicone on the rubber seals. It worked! the silicone expanded the rubber door seals and my doors no longer froze shut but it also helped with dirt and dust in the warmer months.
Right out of the gate, you hit us with a great montage of the Revel and some of the improvements that have been made to your rig since you picked it up all the way down in Oregon. It, like the both of you, have come a long way from where you started. I’m impressed with the constant improvements you make to your style and your vision as TH-camrs. Could you ever have imagined that you’d be putting out content that easily rivals Discover Channel or National Geographic?!?! I’ve watched you two really blossom into the fantastic adventurers you are today. I couldn’t possibly be more proud of you and how far you’ve come! And yes, Cynthia, I agree entirely that the beer you’re holding in the beginning montage is the “perfect size”! The inclusion of the Dreamcatcher was also fitting in your travels as I hope it’s doing its job and keeping the bad dreams away from you both. I applaud the use of the slow piano as the drone flies over the frozen wilds of Alaska, and yes, my ears pricked up when I heard you say, “and contemplate some major changes to our future.” These words are very telling in that they reveal that “the plan” has shifted and taken an alternate course. Robert Frost would be saluting you right now. You’ve most definitely taken the path less traveled by, and it has certainly made all the difference. I loved the ice fog video of you driving at night, slightly out of focus, as if we’re seeing what you’re seeing in some sort of shared dream through very sleepy eyes. The very next scene all too telling, in that it’s of your water boiling and coffee grinding, as a sort of talisman guiding us out of that sleepy foggy darkness, and into the light. I’ll have to look into the beard oil and moisturizer. I’m just sporting a goatee, but scratchy hair is scratchy hair. 😃. Seeing the use of fade through transitions in this video is absolutely perfect, given the dream-like settings you’re showing us. Superbly done! I laughed a little seeing Jim making bacon outside because you don’t like the van smelling like that. I’ll have you know that my whole apartment smells of freshly fried bacon right now! At least you fried it up in the Dutch Oven! Cast Iron is the only way to make bacon! The use of fade-through transitions while making breakfast was perfectly done and spoke to a strong subconscious desire for the food to be finished and on your plates! Well done! I loved the shots of Jim throwing Ember’s toy. It speaks to just how far you two go to get great footage. Cynthia’s shooting from the ground while the drone captures the view from above all in one take. It brings about a strong sense of inclusion for us all that is greatly appreciated. Seeing Ember “swimming” in the snow was particularly funny. She’ll always be a fish! Kushtaka is a fantastic choice for your van’s name! Not only has it most definitely shape-shifted, but it has also remained considerably elusive from the viewing public. I loved your Halloween episode where you told us about all the spooky tales up there in Alaska. Given how many miners never made it out of Alaska during the gold rush days, I’m surprised your fires aren’t visited by the spirits of old, or the mighty Kushtaka itself! Seeing the Goulash made in the Dutch Oven was incredible, and yes, you made me incredibly hungry (pun intended). 😂. The paprika was interesting to see. I can only imagine that it tasted AMAZING! Jim knocked it out of the park again. I loved the shots of the campfire. It’s my favorite means of warming up. Thank you for opening up a P.O. Box. I’ll be sending you something from here in the days to come. Sorry my response is so late, I almost got myself killed at Cape Disappointment State Park, where Lewis & Clark first stepped foot into the Pacific. There’s a long jetty out there that’s really treacherous and I decided that it’d be interesting to go out to the very end by traversing slippery saltwater covered boulders while 30’ waves pelted me with icy Seaspray. My whole body hurts and my ankles are worse for wear, but somehow, I made it all the way out there and all the way back without being swept out to sea by those icy waves. Keep up the great work you two!
Hi Brian! - I'm so glad I was able to see a visual of your near death experience at Cape Disappointment State Park. I just want you to know that I kinda would like to see you stick around for awhile longer. If I read your name in the papers "Explorer takes a Plunge" it wouldn't shock me either. (note the sarcasm). Take some advil and get back out there! Thank you for your incredible insight....again. You know it makes my heart warm when you see things without our work that is subtle and telling. So many little easter eggs these days. You are correct, considering a road less traveled the past few days. We will know more in the coming weeks ahead. We're also glad you like the name. It's one of those names that gets stuck on the tongue and is so much fun to say as well. There was a few parts we payed homage to you as well and I have no doubt you picked up on that. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us Brian. Heal up and get back out there! 😁
Nicely done on the van. That surely has taken on the harsh winter for you guys. the goulash looks great. You must witness some really great events in the night sky, being that you out in the wilderness. Stay safe and warm..... till the next video.
Hi Chris. We have had clouds a lot this year but we due try to chase clear skies on occasion. Sometimes we avoid them because clear skies means colder air! Have a great week!
I was thinking about what I was going to comment and the first thing that came to mind was that the van looks like a beast now with all the changes. Kushtaka is perfect! That meal looked amazing. It looks like the new drone is working well and Ember is Ember, as crazy as ever. I have never put anything on my beard. What does it do for you? I hope it can change the colour. Hahahahaha Mine is white. ❤️🇨🇦❤️ Cheers!!!
A white beard is nice! Don't color it!!! The oil softens the skin under the beard and makes it softer as it grows in. The balm keeps those wild hairs from sticking up all over, mostly for smoothness. I wasn't sure about the smell at first, I mean, I kinda like Jim smelling like a man, but I dunno what those guys put in that balm but the smell is nearly pharmonal (I spelled that wrong) for me. I haven't told the owner of the company yet, but to say I enjoy the smell is to say the least. So Jim enjoys wearing it. 😂. Enjoy the rest of your week!
I so love your videos in the snow. We dont get much here in Tennessee....thankfully! However, I love watching how y'all embrace it. My hat's off to you both. Stay warm & safe up there. XOXO... Jill, Nashville TN
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska Thank you, Sweetie. I hope you have a faaabulous week. By the way, did I see Jim dipping out his moisturizer with a Nashville guitar pick? Hugs y'all !!!
Hello dear ones! So thankful to see you again. Always a pleasure hanging out with you three! The winter wonderland of Alaska... I have some MommaFaye stickers I want to send you. That is if you want them. Navi, I love bacon 🥓too. Eggs 🍳 coffee. ☕️ yummmmm Stay safe and know we love you guys! MommaFaye 🌺
Thank you MommaFaye. We would love one! Our PO BOX is in the address in description and we will send you one as well. Thanks for hanging out with us again xoxo ❤️
Another magical video that transports us there with you in spirit. Your campfires always inspire me as a fellow Revel owner... how and where do you acquire the wood? Is it just lying around randomly on the ground or do you cut down trees in forests and split the wood at your cabin/home base between adventures? I’m thinking of getting a battery operated mini chainsaw for scavenging. And I love your tripod for open fire cooking. Thank you for sharing your videos... very inspiring! This winter will lead into a glorious enlightening spring and recharge us yet again. ☺️☀️
Hi Christie - Great question. In the summer we burn a combination of what's dead and down and wood be purchase from the stores. They sell it in bundles pretty much every gas station or stop you can find up here. It's quite the industry. We used to load up with the wood we have at our home base but this year we didn't load up on firewood because we've been "home" a lot less this winter. A chainsaw is something we have considered when we are in a position to hit the road and leave Alaska full-time. In Canada, there were parts were wood was abundant, and others where you couldn't find it at all. and, we learned you can't transport wood from one place to another in Canada because of beetles which is another story but YES, a mini chainsaw would come in handy for sure. Thank you so much for being here with us on this adventure! (oh and yes, we do have kids. A part of our lives rarely shared here. Three are adults and two are mini-adults that join us in the summer). 😁
Glad you are back on the road. Kushtaka looks beastly and what a great name and a perfect one. Once again thanks for the shout out and enjoy. Give Amber a pat for us.
Hi Brad! That was so much fun. Thank for your for your continued support. We're glad you like the name. Oh, we used the Tony's and Wowzah! Good stuff! We will see ya again soon. xo
I loved this video. Enjoy the way you put this together and what a wonderful life to travel around. Feeling free and exploring is really living.Keep your amazing video's coming because I look forward to seeing what the three of you are up to. All Smiles Sheila
¡Gracias! Nos alegra que disfrute de los videos. Esperamos que se mantenga seguro y se alegra de que esté disfrutando de nuestras aventuras. ¡Ten una maravillosa semana!
Good retrieving by Ember, our Aussie Doodle needs and loves to run but doesn't always fetch her throw (sometimes even brings back something else like a stick that distracted her). Nice looking campfire late in the video. We are finally into some true winter had single digits and wind for about 3 days or more. Now some more substantial snow in the forecast. Journey safely. The stew looked yummy but spicy.
The stew was amazing. Spicy but the brown sugar cut that a little. I think the entire world is being hit by these winds. It's been so darn windy here too! Take care Michael. We will see you again on Sunday. (we just witnessed some amazing Northern Lights and I'm praying it translates well into video) fingers crossed. xo
Loved, just loved the intro and then been greeted by your soothing voice ... a very nice way to enjoy my Sunday morning with a new post from you two and sweet little Ember 💗 As an amateur photographer, I loved that shot of the icicles against the fire! And when you opened the door of the van to step outside ... wow, a blanket of hoar frost, we get quite a few days like that here in Calgary and I love it :) The breakfast made me salivate and I just had mine, go figure! The tires look nice and robust to tackle those Alaskan off-roads. Your selection of music makes this a very relaxing video, so after watching it I will head out for a walk get some fresh air and sunshine. What a great name and how befitting of that ever-evolving vehicle of yours ... Kushtaka - the shape-shifting creature!!! That goulash looked amazingly delicious! A lovely video, thank you and wishing you both and sweet little Ember 💗 all the best.
Hi Aida. You picked up on one of my favorite shots with the ice and fire. It reminded me of a "fang" as if our Kushtaka has a fang. :). I love your wonderful insight and knowing that you enjoyed some fresh air and sunshine. We will see you again on Sunday. 😁. Have a great rest of your week. xo
Hi folks. :) As always a great video. Love the upgrades on the Revel. And the meal looked SO good. Each video you guys put out is a beacon of joy. I watch you and a guy named Chris on his channel, venture4wd. He's on Saturdays. So I get him on Saturday and you on Sunday. It makes for a nice weekend. OK stay safe. Be well. And we'll see you again soon.
Hi BC. We just discovered Chris as well! I (cynthia) used to love love my Jeep. (sold it when I got pregnant with my first born) 😒 We're happy to you're enjoying your weekend right along with us. See ya soon!
Amazing view and i love the way u explore i m big fan of yours i really enjoy with u guys have a prosperious life and may God bless you from evil eyes lots of love from pakistan
I love the “fade-out” technique you’re using. Bacon! Yum! My favorite food-along w dark chocolate!😁 Nice name for your van! Was waiting for you to do Owen’s happy dance, Jim! 😆Anxious to hear about your new upgrades...
OOohhhh chocolate covered bacon. one of my kids made that for me long ago....😁. Promise to cover all of the upgrades in our 2 year review covering what we did and what we think of it, not just show off what we did. We hope to show why we did it as we move towards the upgrade video...Glad you like the name and Jim's not sure anyone wants to see him dance. 😁😂. See ya soon Babs.
On occasion we are able to get it to follow Ember but as soon as she comes back close to us it pops to us. The AI is pretty dang incredible in the drone. We have shots where it will back up just so it keeps all three of us in frame. we are blown away each time we see it do something new.
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska I did get to mess with one for about 10 mins the other day and it was really cool the way it followed us and then avoided everything inside the building too. Cool machines.
Hi Ozzywon! Im happy to hear Jims cooking sucked you in and you like the name of the van. Now...if only you could have tasted that goulash mmmm mmm. 😁. See ya again soon.
Hi Tom. Definitely gets crowded during the summer. We try to go to the backside in the summer where most people don't go so we can pick berries. Bummer we missed each other.
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska That is a fantastic place for berry picking. We like to spot for bears across the valley on the backside in spring and fall...lots of bears in that area. Maybe I’ll get lucky one day and run into you guys right around dinner time😜
Good morning from Godley Texas, Disappointed I missed the live chat☹️. You're an amazing narrator in describing the Alaskan outdoors. You and Jim have some of if not the best drone video on youtube. I was always amazed with how ice fog could form on a chain link fence making it look like a wall. Jim is truly an outdoor chef. Happy travels and stay safe.
Hi John, that's a huge compliment because there's some amazing drone pilots out there. So thank you!!! Walls of ice fog are freaky aren't they? I wasn't sure the fog that we could see would translate well into a video but it was thick for sure. Stay well down there in Texas and have a fabulous rest of your week!
Hi Jim & Cynthia lovely video as usual. We just love your voice talk over its so calming and you talk so nice. Woww what a location the van looks amazing we are looking at getting the all terrain tyres when we can get out as still in lock down no unlock date yet, we are hoping its some time in march. But fingers crossed. You have so much space out there its mind blowing, to get away and explore, love and best wishes from michael & Kim UK. ,
Hi Guys! Yes, even though our State is going through the exact same thing as the rest of the world and Alaska still has the space to get out an roam around in. Hopefully we're able to show that in the videos. We were in the is spot for a few days and we had two people pull up beside us and leave and those are the only people we saw. And we were't far off the actual road system. Finding these nooks and crannies to escape has been out saving grace as you know. Also, hearing from you both is also uplifting. Thank you and have a wonderful week! xo
Oh I live through you I love ❤️ your travels . What a beautiful place that Alaska just being in nature when I was younger I wandered the White Mountains of New Hampshire I love the smell of trees and fern 😊 anyway keep doing what you two do and Zjim keep cooking your good stuff yum
Hi Pat, the smell of the trees is one of those things that will never be forgotten and how peaceful and quiet it is. Thank you for coming along with us and walking down memory lane. New Hampshire is gorgeous! We will see you again soon. xo
Glad to see you again my friends it sure does look cold brrrr ...we are in 80 degrees atm and loving it...haven't much to report but if we do we will let you know the food looks yummy always thought goulash had pasta in it? different for sure I can shoot you a recipe that you would love bourbon chicken ? safe travels my friends :) take care
Well I certainly have a nice bottle of bourbon so that sounds DELISH! Oh my Gosh girl we just had the most amazing Northern Lights show up here. Can't wait to show you and yes, for some reasons American's put pasta in it. as a matter of fact I was confused it didn't but the Hungarians said NO! 😁. Darn American's always screwing up the good stuff. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Have a good week darlin' xo
Boy I sure do love this video. You both always know how to put out great videos. Love the winter wonderland beautiful snow. Saw Ember loving it. Loved when you and Jim were hugging each other. You both make a beautiful couple. Nobody paid me to say it either. I loved everything that went into it but wasn’t sure what Ghee was. But I thought to myself I would care it’s probably good in it anyways. I’ll eat just about anything. The ghoulish looked good though. Better than the way I made it. It probably taste better from a Dutch oven. Than cooked on top. I was laughing Cynthia when you singing the sing at that end that you played. The music you played was great and love the name of your home. Can you send it me? And tell me what it means again? If you don’t mind. It’s a great name. Some how it fits it just right. You have a great night and week and can’t wait til next video. Stay safe.
Awww Sherri, I think you're the only one who made it all the way to the end to see me rocking out to Justin Beiber's "Holy". The name we chose for the van is "Kushtaka". You'll hear us say it more. It is a version of the "Big Foot" or "Sasquatch" but from the Tlingit people of the Pacific North West. The Kushtaka is a shape shifting figure from a man, to an otter. It's know for luring it's victims by changing form. There's also an even deeper deeper personal meaning because my dad used to enjoy creating Tlingit art himself and when I was a kid he used to tell me the story of the Kushtaka. One day it sort of hit me that Kushtaka should be the name and it's stuck ever since. "Gee" is like Lard but a "healthier" version of it. (which kinda makes me smile). See you again on Sunday! We will be bringing you the Northern Lights! 😁
nice I like Justin Bieber. I always stay til the end. I thought it was Justin but wasn’t sure. I like Justin Bieber. And I love that song. You both holding up good in Alaska because we all got in deep with snow even here in Vegas last week. This it is the New York and New Jersey and Pennsylvania and then got 2 feet or more of snow m. Plus more coming through the week and next. Glad I’m here where it’s safe. Can’t wait til next video. learn more of the name of your home. See you soon. Stay safe.
Good day! What a great Rockin’ opening this week, which is fitting for the naming of the van. Kushtaka is a great name and the van looks like it will survive anything. Loved the way you took us right into the calm an peaceful story after the opening few seconds also. The drone footage and Ember having so much fun with you two ♥️♥️👍🏻. I smiled when Jim was cooking the bacon, as I just had some farm fresh bacon from a neighbours sisters farm and eggs for brunch also today. I love bacon too! 👍🏻. Then to end it all with that Goulash recipe....just WOW. Take care you two and have a fantastic week. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
Farm Fresh Bacon and Eggs OH MY! Sound delish. Thank you for the love Gerald. We hope you have a great week as well and we will see you again on Sunday! 😁
Aloha ! Happy New Year 🥳. That Cujan Stew Looks Ono. I bet when Burn your Okole...🙂🙃😉. Aloha Larry! I'm seeing some of my friends posting their pics on the beach in Hawaii and I'm like. "ooooooeeeeeee, I wanna be on the beach" but then I think of my white legs and saggy bottom and realize these big mountains and wide open skies are where I want to be right now. The beach can wait but Darn it I just missed it a tiny bit coming here and hearing you. Thanks for cheering us on 😁
Still way to cold for my liking but clearly you enjoy doing that which you do together. The food looked great but I didn't hear how you enjoyed it (or not).
Good morning from Mr Bill. Today is another rainy day here in NC. It's about 39. I'm so glad to hear from y'all. I'm guessing that the goulash was amazing. I'm at the j.o.b. We're fine here. Sending virtual hugs, prayers and ❤ to y'all. Stay safe, healthy and by all means happy.
Missed you guys Hello from England 🏴 hope you both are well just Love this channel really love the feel of it etc really would love to do what you are doing and think Ember is a lovely dog 🐕 That bacon 🥓 and eggs 🥚looked great 👍 👌
Van looks good. Tires look much more off-road capable. Looks like they stick out a little bit, are you having any rubbing issues with them when the van flexes over rougher areas?
Hi Terry, so far we have only had some minor rubbing on very tight turns when it reaches a certain radius. Nothing concerning at all and will probably go away as the tread wears a little bit more.
I love your channel! Kushtaka, wow! what a name. You keep cooking bacon outside and I guarantee you will see one! I have these cheap motion detectors for perimeter alarms and I think you should get some, they work! Since you now have such a beast of a van, you should drive it to Kaktovik. I hear you can only drive there in winter since you will be driving on frozen rivers! If you do, I would find another couple to do it with???
On second thought, that might Not be such a great idea. I would call up there to maybe the Kaktovik Kikiktak Store and see if visitors are welcome due to the virus! I am hoping to drive it someday myself if that is possible.
Hi John, we would love to hit one of those ice roads but this is not the right time to do anything like that. Those communities are very locked down due to the lack of medical assistance they have. We would hate to accidentally cause something bad to happen even as safe as we are.
The goulash looked so so good. Kushtaka , the land otter people. Good video. Great to watch. It seems like you could benefit from side lighting. Or do you have them and just don’t use them :)
We do have side lights John. We just don't use them all the time to mix up the lighting that we can do in different shots. They can be overwhelming for some shots. Have a wonderful week!
That was amazing I loved it, you know how to live that’s for sure. Thanks for showing us your beautiful winter wonderland.
Thank you John. We are glad you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful week!
OK so you did it again. I dissect your words and try to remain calm open and receptive to them. I always find peace there. This is so beautiful and I just love your channel. So sorry on the loss of your son, heart breaking. Sending healing light from a heart that knows.
So sorry to hear about your son ... so, so difficult to reconcile. I am sending a virtual hug across the miles and will add you to my prayers 💗
@@AidaJof Thank you so much for your kind words.
Blessings.
@@brendag2891 Very well said.
Your voice would be amazing for Audiobooks listening to you I can see it like a movie
Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Have a great week!
I agree I've told that to Cynthia .
I thought I got a random audible ad , I was like where dis come from :D
Your voice is so soothing , your photography was awesome love your videos
Thank you so much! ❤️
That stew looked amazing, the only way to cook. Paddy the Irish man.
Great videos and cool van.
Greetings from Germany.
Thank you for watching Dr. Andreas. Have a great week!
HELLO GOODNIGHT.
I AM FROM ARGENTINA AND I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS. VERY NICE LANDSCAPES. NARRATION MAKES ONE TRAVEL AND ENJOY WITH YOU.
BEST REGARDS
Thank you Carlos. We are glad you enjoy the videos. Have a wonderful week!
That was a really good video. I actually escaped reality for a while watching!
Thank you! We are glad it gave you an escape! Have a wonderful week!
Again I say, your artistry and visual storytelling is quite exceptional!
Great content combined with videography and editing sets you apart. Love your channel and following your adventures.
Great name by the way, it is a beast!
Namaste
Hi Kim. Thank you so much for the kind words and recognizing the time and effort put into our videos. Stay well.
I love this, because yes, I told Jim, isn't this kind of just a stew with more flavor? 😁. Thanks for coming along with us Patrick!
Your video techniques are really quite amazing. Love your narrative as well. It's been fun following along on your adventures as it provides me an escape from the confines of the world right now. Stay safe!
Thank you Carol. Have a wonderful week!
Breathtaking video. Scenery was beautiful .You have given a nice name to your van.
Thank you Navin. Have a great week!
Wow! I just LOVE your channel!! I really enjoy how beautiful you present your journey!! 💕🤗💕 Stay Safe💕🤗💕
Thank you! We hope you have a wonderful week!
Some of the views you have are just AMAZING!
Thank you Rick. We are always amazed by the views every morning. Words just don't do it justice. Have a great week!
Glad to see you...Nomads.Freedom and Love!!!
Thank you Gunya!
Hi grace this is a really interesting tip. We haven’t heard this before! We will look and see what we can find.
Beautiful video! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Tracy! Have a wonderful week!
I love the horror frost. 🇨🇦

Hi John, we are glad you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful week!
The name of your van is very good. You two are my favorite because I can’t take my eyes or ears off you. Stay safe out there
Thank you daniel! Have a wonderful week!
Another amazing video, and an excellent recipe!
The flavor was so good Kim. A must try! Have a wonderful week!
Love seeing new videos from you guys, its like watching an adventure and cooking video all in one
Thank you Chet. We are glad you enjoyed it. Have a great week!
Sorry been missing your videos been busy with military training but I wish you good luck and safe travels
Love the beginning. What a great looking van. You guys did a great job. Be safe out there in this crazy time
Thank you Dave. We hope you are doing your best to stay safe as well. Have a wonderful week!
Just discovered your travel videos; they are great! You have a wonderful voice for narrating your videos. Safe travels!
Good morning! We are glad you found us! Welcome to the journey. Thank you for taking the time to leave a message! Have a wonderful week!
Incredible video yall. Be safe out there!
Thank you Hillbilly! 😁
I so love your videos in the snow. We dont get much here in Tennessee....thankfully! However, I love watching how y'all embrace it. My hat's off to you both. Stay warm & safe up there. XOXO... Jill, Nashville TN
Thank you Jill. We are glad you enjoy the adventures. Have a wonderful week!
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska Thank you, Sweetie. I hope you have a faaabulous week. By the way, did I see Jim dipping out his moisturizer with a Nashville guitar pick? Hugs y'all !!!
Congratulations on Kushtaka! The van is a BEAST now and the looks match the capability.
Thank you! We are looking forward to testing it out a bit :)
Love the new name for your van and love how we usually get a sneak peak of woodford reserve...finest bourbon on the planet.
Good eye Michelle. Some nights call for a good bourbon. 😉

Super video. I’ve been watching you guys since the very beginning. It’s impressive how far you’ve come.
Thank you Tim. We are glad you have stuck with us so long ❤️. Have a wonderful week!

Van is Siiiiick 👊🏻
Thank you guys. We are glad you like it!
U r better than Netflix
Huge compliment Angela. Thank you!
(we just witnessed some amazing Northern Lights and I'm praying it translates well into video) fingers crossed. xo
MODIFICATIONS LOOK SO GOOD ON THE VAN!❤SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL KIDS!❤
Thank you Miles. We hope you are staying safe and doing well. Have a wonderful week!
Fantastic!
Thank you!
Thanks so much for your post, looked beautiful, Karen from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you Karen. Have a wonderful week!
😁. Have a great rest of your week. xo
Hi folks. :)
As always a great video.
Me too Jim! I love BACON.

Amazing view and i love the way u explore i m big fan of yours i really enjoy with u guys have a prosperious life and may God bless you from evil eyes lots of love from pakistan
Thank you for all the love from Pakistan. We appreciate you being here with us!
Thank you for sharing your travels, I love living vicariously through your eyes! How many miles have you put on the revel so far?
Hi Grace. We are glad you enjoy the videos. so far we have put 33 thousand miles on the van!
You guys rock! Very deep observations, I like it! Do you ever get Van Fever?
Hi Michael, we don't we actually missed it tremendously when it was in the shop. Nothing worse than not being able to wake up to beauty:)
Oh I love that name!!! Kushtaka!!!👠🚌👠
Thank you ❤️
I love the “fade-out” technique you’re using. Bacon!
That's the Hun spirit :)
Thank you!
You guys rock! I dig the name, folks will have to watch to learn it. Great job with the Skydio too, Jim! Was it following Ember for some of it?
On occasion we are able to get it to follow Ember but as soon as she comes back close to us it pops to us. The AI is pretty dang incredible in the drone. We have shots where it will back up just so it keeps all three of us in frame. we are blown away each time we see it do something new.
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska I did get to mess with one for about 10 mins the other day and it was really cool the way it followed us and then avoided everything inside the building too. Cool machines.
Your van looks like a beast! Loved the open fire recipes. Stay safe out there.
Thank you Carol. Have a wonderful week!
So happy to see your videos again! Love the name Kushtaka and I never would’ve guessed I’d be riveted to someone cooking but I was GLUED! Haha!
Hi Ozzywon! Im happy to hear Jims cooking sucked you in and you like the name of the van. Now...if only you could have tasted that goulash mmmm mmm. 😁. See ya again soon.
Good ole Knob Lake...best time to be there a bit crowded in summer. Must have just missed you.
Maybe I’ll get lucky one day and run into you guys right around dinner time😜
I love your life!!!👠🚌👠
Have a wonderful week Graycee!
I had to watch it again. I'm making the goulash recipe this evening as it looked delicious.
It was really really good! Tons of flavor!
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska I made the Goulash, Most excellent. I had two bowels,. thanks for the recipe.
Good morning from Godley Texas,
Disappointed I missed the live chat☹️.
Thank you and have a wonderful week! xo
Amazing Video y’all. We can’t wait to take delivery in late April for our Revel and hit the road too.
Cheers y’all.
Dave
You are going to love it Dave!
A beautiful episode. Thank you... ❤🇦🇺
Thank you Lorraine. Have a wonderful week!
Stay safe.
Thank you for a beautiful glimpse into Alaskan winters. I think I'll stay with summer. Ohio winters are cold enough.
Summer is definitely an amazing time of year! the nice thing about winter though is no mosquitoes ! Have a wonderful week Sharon!
Love yaw too thanks for a beautiful visit with you too
Thank you Allan. Have a wonderful week!
👍🏻. "ooooooeeeeeee, I wanna be on the beach" but then I think of my white legs and saggy bottom and realize these big mountains and wide open skies are where I want to be right now. The beach can wait but Darn it I just missed it a tiny bit coming here and hearing you. Thanks for cheering us on 😁
That's a great pot for cooking. It's like a swee !
worked really well! Have a great week Grace!
Still way to cold for my liking but clearly you enjoy doing that which you do together. The food looked great but I didn't hear how you enjoyed it (or not).
Hi Ken, This is an incredible must try recipe... if we didn't like it we wouldn't put it in the video 😂😂. Sometimes we forget to verbalize it :)
Hi Mr Bill! We are always happy to hear from you. The goulash was amazing and is a must try! Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful week!
Hungarian dishes are delicious 😍
Agree 100% Mel
Amber is so adorable..
She's a doll! Thanks for being here with us. :)
Missed you guys Hello from England 🏴 hope you both are well just Love this channel really love the feel of it etc really would love to do what you are doing and think Ember is a lovely dog 🐕 That bacon 🥓 and eggs 🥚looked great 👍 👌
Thank you Paul. We hope you are doing well over there. Have a wonderful week!
Love your van and love the show regards Cliff and family👍✊🐕
Thank you Cliff! Have a wonderful week!
@@WingsandWheelsAlaska I thought you did , just wasn’t sure. :). Hope you all have a great week.
