So glad to see gunsmiths who truly still feel they are actually producing works of real art, not just a tool. Kudos to Springfield, an excellent firearms manufacturing company that has always given me great customer service and quality products.
That was AWESOME! THANK YOU!!!! 😃🇺🇸 I did a video on the TRP Operator in 10mm 6 inch and it was a privilege and a pleasure handling that 1911. The attention to detail was second to none.
Back when I made more money, lol, I ordered a custom 1911 from Springfield Custom Shop, dealt with a guy named Dave Williams I believe? This was years and years ago. Anyway, it came out spectacular. Couldn't be happier with it. Once I'm back into the black I definitely would want them to do more work for me...
Man that longslide stole my heart as I own the 6” trp rmr and love it dearly…it rides in a diamond d chest rig and lays the smack down on ol Ky bucks….i noticed a shadow front sight too I believe…like to see one done…
Cool video! Springfield Armory Custom Shop 1911's are wonderful. Finally obtained a Professional model this year. Couldn't be more happy with it. The gun has all the features that I want and nothing that I don't want. I have recommended Springfield 1911's to several shooting friends. Custom Shop truly builds high quality 1911's that will make one proud to own and enjoy.
I own two Elite 9mms and a Loaded 45acp but I dream of one one day owning a Professional. Keep making these masterpieces of American craftsmanship and I'll make that dream a reality in a few years.
I am a FOREVER Springfield customer! I have the XD Mod 2 9mm 4'' and just picked up the XD Mod 2 .45 5''........I will be buying the 1911 from them too very very soon! The gun itself is so well put together and it shoots like butter nice and smooth....
This is a really awesome look inside the custom shop! I just picked up my RO Elite 1911 from you guys the other day. I put an "idiot scratch" on my slide and wound up having to remove some of the finish in an attempt to blend it in. I had you guys refinish the slide in black Armory Kote and it looks great!
Todd Cherry Yes the Custom Shop versions are. I bought the Springfield Loaded at $689 and it's as good as my Kimeber that was $1200. I will never buy a firearm higher than $1200.
It could not be better said . SACS Springfield Armory Custom Shop was the best at taking a stock off the shelf pistol and turning it into a work of art or taking an older worn out pistol and bring it back to life , better then new . Please bring back when the Custom shop worked on Customers pistols .
Dave Gergely indoor one yes, I grew up in that area not far away, it's a great Midwestern town, it's a pricy place to live, but I've never been African to walk around Un armed in the middle of the night.
Yes, we are doing everything we can down in Springfield, IL to ensure the bill doesn’t pass. If you’d like a detailed list of the actions we are taking to ensure this bill is defeated, please contact our customer service department and they’ll be happy to provide you a list. - sales@springfield-armory.com
Rick Kerley the TRP is a production line gun... However, it is has a heavy influence from the SACS Professional Model and I can say (having personal trigger time on Loaded, MC Operator, LB Operator, and TRP Operator guns) that the TRP gets as much love an attention as possible for a production 1911. BLUF: Buy one. It’s worth every penny.
Nice video. Just hope the quality of your work spill over to the regular production line. I have several of your " regular " production 1911s (Milspecs, stainless Loaded), and there is a lot to be desired on the slide/frame misfit, subpar quality of the small parts, unacceptably sharp serrations for the slides which is very pronounced on the stainless models, horrendously ugly machining marks on the internal areas of both frames and slides.
I know y'all are proud of your video I just watched, and the loud back ground music is certainly fitting to supporting the concept of craftsmen making a wonderful product, however, after serving with the 101st back in the 1960s, my hearing is not what it should be. I could understand maybe one or two words out of every ten or so. The background music turns all of the sound into an unintelligible jumble of noises. Perhaps you could make another video without the music and give your loyal followers a choice. When I served I was a forward observer, Recondo qualified. I carried a Springfield Armory 1911 most of my enlistment. I now have one on a layaway plan, Springfield Armory 1911 military, at Discount Guns in San Diego. I’ll have it paid off in April. (Social Security Living) I’ve always wanted another one, and decided I’m running out of luck and I better get it while I can. I wish the barrel wasn’t so obvious, like a mirror in the sun. I’ll try bluing it myself or doing something to cut down on the glare.
John Baker thanks brother, im a forward observer who served in Afghanistan from 2008-2009. Much respect to you guys who paved them way! FOs lead the way
I served with the 101st from 1960-1963. My company received their orders for Nam the same day I had cleared base and gone back to the barracks to say my goodbyes and left. Had they caught up to me, I would have been extended. That is how close I came, but I'm not a combat vet. At 75, I have mixed feelings about it, but back then, I was real happy I missed that formation. I was FO for the 81s. Sgt. E-5. Thanks for your kind words Brother.
Love the video and I own a 1911, but if the detail in making a 1911 so precise then why do some owners experience so many problems at the range? Sending back to adjust or fix a 1k pistol is a hassle. Again I love my 1911 but had so many issues before it finally worked. Two words Quality Control.
David Cisneros because those are probably not custom shop Guns. The QC at the custom shop is on par with Wilson combat and Les Baer. The pistols this group makes are 2500 and up.
That's checking the amount of slide stop travel before it releases the slide... If you ever built a 1911 or custom fit parts you would understand this 😂
Nice video. I like seeing the craftsmen behind the scenes getting the visibility. The 1911 is a work of art; yours are maser pieces.
So glad to see gunsmiths who truly still feel they are actually producing works of real art, not just a tool. Kudos to Springfield, an excellent firearms manufacturing company that has always given me great customer service and quality products.

Awesome video! I have a Springfield Professional coming in Thursday and it will be my first Springfield custom ever, very excited!

That appreciation and craftsmanship is soulful.

Awesome, just AWESOME! Bravo to these craftsmen (and women).
The professional custom is my best 1911. It’s perfect and better than any other machine made 1911.
i agree no machine can beat a true master craftsman
beautifully crafted video

Bring it back
Well done video! 👊
High quality, average price Springfield Armory 1911s are my choice bar none!!
I have a couple of Kimbers but my Springfield Loaded is what I go to. Price and the quality surpasses some of the higher end 1911's
The lowest price on their lineup are $2k all the way up to $4k. I'd say pretty much on par with higher end 1911's
Todd Cherry Yes the Custom Shop versions are. I bought the Springfield Loaded at $689 and it's as good as my Kimeber that was $1200. I will never buy a firearm higher than $1200.
Todd Cherry I agree with you, wish I could afford those higher end ones. Shot because a friend of mine can afford them.
Bring back more custom options for existing off the shelf 1911s

I researched the town of Geneseo, sounds like a charming town too live and work. Do they have a public shooting range?
Dave Gergely indoor one yes, I grew up in that area not far away, it's a great Midwestern town, it's a pricy place to live, but I've never been African to walk around Un armed in the middle of the night.
Are you guys talking to Bruce Rauner and telling him to veto the IL dealer licensing bill?

Springfield Armory You’ve got a long road ahead of yourselves. Be transparent moving forward. You’ll be fine.
Thanks. :D
I have the Springfield 1911 custom and it’s way nicer than even the TRP.
I wonder if the TRP model is hand made from these guys? Awesome products!

When are yall going to reopen the custom shop?
Good stuff period.
I realize its unlikely to be answered, but does the Custom Shop plan to offer SA35 models and services for it in the future?

Lindo nada é como o trabalho bem feito
Can you make a trp 9 mm please!!!!!!!
Forged or cast
Hey springfield, I have a question!!!
Why do y'alls 1911's use different sized firing pins than other manufacturers?
Does any one make a threaded barrel for the 6 in. 10 mm RO 1911?
Soundtrack?
That adjustable rear sight looks ridiculous

These are NOT $1k guns. :). This is Custom Shop - $3,300 guns
This is why the Chinese will always be second place to the US!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen Brother!
threw away my Springfield professional for a nighthawk grp recon. never looked back
Why? Some more info might be helpful...
Lies
That was a foolish move, if it were true.
Thanks but i perfer my dan wesson
ooh. had me until i saw the guy who runs the shop drop the slide.... not good.
That's checking the amount of slide stop travel before it releases the slide... If you ever built a 1911 or custom fit parts you would understand this 😂
