I guess it is a question of what you want from life. Though truth be told I cannot stand most of India's metros, only two cities I have found comfortable in are Hyderabad and Kochi. We still need to fix our garbage problem. The cleaning duties should be handed over to some private company to deliver better results because anything privately-run is far more efficient in India.

Most foreigners don't understand that "indian thing" doesn't exist....it might be a feature of few states..... but you can't generalise..... geography, history, culture, language,food changes after few kms........for a example....you can't say india is very hot to a kashmiri ,ladakhi,sikkmi,arunachli, uttrakhandi or himachli.......you can't say India is very cold to a Rajasthani, gujarati, up, Bihar,....... type states......you can't say india is very dry to meghalaya and north-eastern states......you can't say Indians speak Hindi,a country which has 22 official languages and 100's of unofficial languages...... similarly India is different in culture, traditions, rituals....it depends on which part of India you arr talking about............ That's not true at all, Bangalore is at an elevation of ~950m above sea levels. The average highest temperature around May/June is around 28 degrees and stays around 24-25 on most days.

Kissing friends whether of same gender or opposite is not an Indian custom. If you have seen someone, may be they are westernised men or women. We do kiss children (of close relatives and friends) on forehead or cheeks. Mostly it is touching and patting the cheeks of children as a symbolic gesture of greeting.
I didn't have a perfect childhood, more or less dysfunctional lol, and I spent the first 25 years of my life in India before moving to the UK and building a family there. I had to go on antidepressants 8 years into living in the UK. Yeah.

I have seen group of foreign tourists who just keep to themselves. No talking , no mingling with local people. May be they are afraid or may be they have been told by someone so. But they just miss the real indian culture this way and leave India visiting the architecture.

The people are gentle 🤔 Survival of the fittest in a Traumatized , over populated country has meant everyone is forced to fight for themselves otherwise they get trampled on. And there might not be the western ego but there is the eastern ego (adaptations of living in survival states of overwhelm /shutdown). I am an indian who has travelled and lived in both the west and the east. There is so much i love about india (i see beauty in everyday things).....especially street dogs and children. I wish people were more embodied, present and open instead i see people who are brainwashed, living in their heads and moving through life in auto pilot mode. Don't kill the messenger.
