I loved SMRPG back in the day. I didn't know anyone else who had even heard of it, so I always thought it was this hidden gem that I was just lucky to own.
Star Ocean 2 was one of the best RPGs on the original playstation. So much depth to the game with the hidden side characters. The combat was unique and ahead of its time.

I am very happy with the Mario titles and Pikmin. Super Mario Bros Wonder looked lit. It tries something different, but is still at it's core a Mario Bros game. The music was just so good, it was calm relaxing, but still fitting. I am also thankful that the music is not just the old themes remixed.

Not a single bad announcement why is Nintendo the only one who can accomplish this? Some of the games don't peak my interest but that doesn't mean that they are bad but there's plenty I'm excited about too. It seems that most announcements from other companies just feel you up with disappointment or you are really skeptical but this genuinely put a smile on my face.

I'm actually super hyped for Dragon Quest Monsters. I played DWM2 on GameBoy back in the day, and loved it enough to revisit it multiple times since. I even created an interactive spreadsheet to calculate breeding outputs based on parents' traits and stats. Incidentally, I don't remember this franchise as being copied from Pokemon - I feel like I remember them releasing super close together.
Asmon's desire for a dark fantasy pokemon would essentially be the original pokemon with Red. The shit starts off with a charmander nearly having its throat torn out, and pokemon guts spilling all over the place as they visit a pokemon graveyard.

Dragon Quest Monsters was originally called Dragon Warrior Monsters in the US when it released for Gameboy. It's got something of a cult following in the US for people who enjoy monster tamer games, particularly because the monster breeding/combination system is different from a lot of other games in that some of the coolest and strongest monsters you can only get by figuring out the right series of combinations through trial and error (slime + dragon = dragon slime + bird = wyvern + frost dragon = divine dragon + devil = evil dragon lord + phoenix = fallen angel, that kinda thing). Super happy they brought a new one to the US.
the BEST reaction was @5:43 "WTF?" up until 6:05. I think that was the most genuinely surprised I've ever seen Asmon react to a gameplay trailer. at any rate, that was the funniest reaction I've seen by him IN A WHILE. :D
Silent Hope. A game built around the idea that no one speaks. Aside from a single character that can talk to you and will probably know what you're doing no matter how far away you are.
Bit of a bummer there's no Odyssey sequel or other new 3D Mario. They're probably developing it on the new console at this point. Wonder looks pretty interesting though, reminds me of SMB2 because of the alternate dimension thing.

Its somewhat debatable whether or not game freak based Pokemon somewhat on the concepts of Dragon Quest Monsters, along with Ultraman and the concept of catching bugs.
Where did you get your information from? Dragon Quest Monsters came out in 1998, Pokémon came out in 1996. So technically it was made as a response to the popularity of Pokémon. With all that being said, Dragon Quest V had you recruiting monsters as party members and that came out in 1992. However, Megami Tensei came out in 1987, so it's the first one with Monster Recruitment that I know of.
Tim's Pikachu has always talked if I remember correctly, it's not since the movie. Only Tim can understand what Pikachu says in the og game and in the movie, idk about Detective Pikachu Returns, but idk why people say he talks since the movie.

Hey so about eggman, the name eggman is his original Japanese name while the US came up with robotnik, to sort of blend the names together starting in Sonic adventure 1 it's heavily implied that Sonic calls him eggman as an insult since eggman did refer to himself as robotnik in adventure 1, it's actually cannon that he goes by the alias Doctor eggman as a sort of way to embrace Sonic's insult so its not an insult anymore to him lol
Funfact: When Nintendo Developed Mario Tennis every character had a partner, Mario had Peach, Luigi got Daisy so on and so on. They only didnt had a Partner for Warrio so they created Waluigi.

Interestingly enough, it seems they omitted Legend of the Seven Stars out of the title. Here's hoping that the remake is just the beginning and we get a brand new title in the future. Detective Pikachu Returns is the sequel to the first Detective Pikachu game released back in 2018 on Nintendo 3DS. This sequel was announced back in 2019 but took awhile to make I suppose due to the pandemic.

They already remastered Starfox 64 back on the 3ds. We technically got one of the best Starfox games with Starlink (the switch version).
