  • 1) If you are playing, SysID LED(s) are on.
    2) If you are playing and charging, SysID LED(s) blinking, slowly.
    3) If the controller is off and not charging, no LEDs are on.
    4) If the controller is off and is charging, all LEDs will blink, slowly.
    5) If the controller is dying while playing, all SysID LED(s) will blink, rapidly.
    If you typically have only 1 or two controllers then SysID will be 1 & 2.
    But if you've replaced controllers and have had friends connect their controllers
    your SysID's could be 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 etc.

    The bit about ie. LED 2 and 4 = channel 6 was good, but there are mistakes. The reason it LOOKED fully charged in the USB charger is because it already had three bars and it wasn't charging it, the DS was just showing a solid LED (Meaning connected, not charging, but charged enough status) and showed the same status on the console with the now un moving charge bars, solid red square, and 'Charge Level' instead of 'Charge Complete' text. Not all USB sources work with a DS. If they DO work, then when the console is ON and connected the corresponding channel SINGLE LED will slow blink on the DS and the console will display as if it was charging it, but If the console is OFF, and obviously not connected, then all four DS LEDs will slow blink. When fully charged by either console or charger the DS will return to it's respective single solid LED and if/when connected, the console will say 'Charge Complete' with a solid 3 bar graphic on the 'Turn OFF' screen, changing back to 'Charge Level' when you unplug. When you turn the console ON from the PS button there is also a rapid all four blink whilst the controller is connecting which changes to the corresponding single channel LED it is on when it connects, also short pressing the PS button will momentarily bring up a small charge/channel status panel on the XMB next to the clock etc. panel. You can set when or if the controller auto-offs in the 'Power Save Settings'. Interestingly the PS4 allows you to choose if the controller connects via blutooth or USB in the settings.

    I have 2 controllers; different ages…
    Last time I used them was a week or so ago. Didn’t matter which one I pressed the PS button on, the system would turn on with either controller’s PS button being used
    Today I pressed the PS button on one of them and all 4 LED’s were flashing rapidly and the system did nothing (remained off)
    Saw a video running down the whole plug in, reset controller, turn on system and press PS button to pair, but that didn’t seem to work for me.
    Both controllers do this as of today
    Both have been on a licensed charging dock, so unless there was an issue where they weren’t plugged in all the way, they SHOULD be charged (the indicator light for each port was green, so they ~should~ be fully charged)
    But at the same time I thought that all 4 LED’s flashing rapidly meant that the controller was out of juice…

    i don't think charging to a cell phone power brick works because there is no LED indication that it is actually charging. Your own example shows this both on the screen menu and the PS3s LED stopped blinking a charge. How ever, when plugged to a PC the LEDs indicate that it is charging.
    edit: Wall chargers dont work because of the lack of USB hand shaking: th-cam.com/video/aMLUA5CBwyo/w-d-xo.html

    • @hgodtx
      @hgodtx  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting. I did use multiple cell phone chargers to keep the controllers fully charged. My confusion might be that I only charged the stick controllers and not the Dual Shock controller. Can anyone else confirm this?
      One other thought is that the handshaking he's referring to is just the attempt to initiate an ID Number setting for new controllers. Possibly if the specific cell phone charger you use is out of tolerance by 1% then it won't charge?!?

    All 4 lights are blinking on boot then, if I press the PS button again all 4 lights are on, not blinking.. What does it mean? My ps3 came from Norway..
    I think I better ask Kurt or Joan what really happen to all those gadgets (playstation, psp, gameboy, tablet, telpad, cellphones) and ask them WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED (it took 3-5 days).. Those gadgets are not broken.... I think it was replaced, they only install the contents..

    • @hgodtx
      @hgodtx  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's definitely confusing! If it's plugged in and the LEDs are not blinking then it's fully charged. From 5% to 99% the LEDs will blink when it's charging and will be steady (not blinking) when it reaches 100%. Here's the confusing part: let's say it's 75%, yes, it will be blinking while charging, but if you unplug the cable the LEDs will be steady (at only 75%).

    Right now I've just got my controller from ebay, and the system...I still don't have another HDMI cord or AV cord yet to actually bring up the PS3 menu to even tell if its working. But I've had it plugged in to charge now for over an hour, and its still just the one light blinking...Aren't the other lights supposed to light up as it begins charging? Please help me! I really don't have enough money to freaking buy another controller if this one is somehow faulty. Also, I reset the controller with a pin before I began attempting to charge...I've still gotta wait a few more days to get a freaking AV or HDMI cord to actually ATTEMPT PLAYING!! Again, please help me! ;_;

      One LED blinking means that the system ID is #1 and it is charging. I vaguely remember empty to full was about 2hrs. Once it's fully charged the single LED will go steady (no more blinking). The other 3 LEDs will always be dark unless you bring it to a friend's house and pair it with his console. The number of LEDs lit up have nothing to do with charge level, they only represent the ID number. Blinking or not blinking represents the charge level. If after 4hrs it's still blinking I'd say you have a faulty battery.

    You're wrong about using pc or a random charger to charge ps3 controllers, this video didnt prove anything. You used the console to charge the controller then when you plugged it to the pc it was ALREADY charged and synced to your console hence the solid light. If you charge it without the console ALL the controller lights flash at once

    • @hgodtx

      No. The 4 LEDs represent the controller system ID# 0:50. If your controller is #1 then you will only see 1 LED go solid when plugged in and fully charged. If it's not plugged in then there is no way to tell the charge level just by looking at the LEDs. You have to go into the menu system 5:11. You can see the battery level with a three bar indicator.
