Making a Wild Imaginary Monster Hunting Cowboy Rifle

To wrap up the year, I decided to build my first 1:1 scale prop from the Wild Imaginary West; a customized, lever action, monster hunting, cowboy rifle. I used an air rifle as the base of the build.

there is a guy in germany who does this. He made all kinds of conserved speciments based off folkloric creatures and started an exibition

I love the idea of getting a “zoomed in” look at some of the tools and objects that we’ve seen on a miniature scale in your other Wild Imaginary West videos. Helps bring it to life even more as though it was truly a historical time in America
As a cosplayer and owner of that exact rifle myself, I do very much enjoy these kind of props and I would love to see more of these :)

@@coltsaacowboy I suppose that depends on where you live. I live in Switzerland and I found it at a shop which sells airsoft rifles and such. Mine was sold under the name of "Umarex Legends M1894 Lever Action Co² Shell Ejection Rifle"

Those gold bits are named pogo-pins, are used in industry as electrical contact points, usualy you have a pogo-pin inserted in a sleeve so you can change the pogo when is damaged.

It wasn't too long ago what I actually consider doing a cosplay based on something from your universe. If you do more Tools and gear like this I'll have enough information to try and cosplay for the first time. I would love to see what revolvers from this universe look like.

Hot damn, didn't expect to see this in here! I've got the Walther-Umarex lever action air rifle, but almost got the one you were working on! It was a decision between "shoots a little better" and "has little loading cartridges for the pellets". Mine's got brass furnishings for the lever box. It is a lot of fun to do some plinking on the balcony! Anyway, what I wanted to say: Yes, I would like to see, hear and read a lot more of the Imaginary Monster-Infested Steampunk Wild West, no matter the scale!
Personally, I feel like having to futz with cartridges is the whole fun of a lever action or revolver replica.
So you're saying I should give the other candidate a go? I did buy a Colt Single Action Army CO2 that does have cartridges, but it is a bit pointless since you can just reload them while leaving them in the chamber...@@JanTuts
@@ctw30002000 Ah, right, because air gun pellet cartridges load from the rear. I'm more used to Airsoft, where such cartridges load from the front, and so the quickest reload really is to simply dump out the cylinder and inserting new cartridges (optionally with a speed-loader).
I deliberately go for air guns that shoot these Diabolo pellets. I just like them. Maybe it's a childhood thing. @@JanTuts

Stunning as usual. Especially love the cloth wraps, there’s something beautiful in the simplicity of solving things with what’s on hand.
I’m also a sucker for waxed canvas (apply beeswax to canvas with a brush and heat gun) which this reminds me of. It doesn’t fray easily and it crinkles beautifully. Cheers

absolutely In Love with this 1:1 piece, it's making me think of a full WIW costume with approriate greeblies and grody-ness
all of the little details like the trinkets having a background story and reasons of why they're there really adds to the whole thing and the weathering tops it all off, S-tier stuff!! would really be excited to see more 1:1 scale stuff! maybe more weapons but also things like monster trophies or other machines that are in a hunter's arsenal

I confess I watched the end reveal before the rest of the video. I was genuinely too hyped to see the end result once I saw the TH-cam notification.
I gotta admit, when i first saw the thumbnail, i was a little confused about what i saw. I thought, when did BHT become a gun channel? I am no model maker, crafter or kit basher. I'm just someone who enjoys watching other people's creativity. This is a very epic build. This 1:1 scale is very new from you. If there are other weapons or handled gadgets used in the "Wild Imaginary West". Showing them would also be epic. My one critique is that something to signify that the blade is electrified...such as the blade or the knife's edge lighting up blue, would make it look more "electrified". Beyond that everything else was cool.
This is probably 1 of my favorite WIW Models I would love to see more 1-1 scale things

Fun fact: The first ever battery was made in around roughly 250 BC in the Parthian period. It was a jar made of clay with a stopper made of asphalt. Sticking through the asphalt is an iron rod surrounded by a copper cylinder. When filled with vinegar - or any other electrolytic solution - the jar would produce about 1.1 volts. No one knows the exact function or use of the jar, but the best guess is that they were used to electroplate items such as putting a layer of one metal (gold) onto the surface of another (silver), a method still practiced in Iraq today.

1 to 1 stuff for sure in the future. As a gun nerd and a Sci fi appreciator I support this build. I've been listening to stories from the yt page "History at the OK Corral" while working on a few mountain man knife builds I've been doing. You inspired me to do a few "what ifs" style knife builds. Like "what if Jeremiah Johnson had to deal with wendigos and werewolves or giant scorpions while fur trapping?"

I absolutely love the idea of you making props of your WIW world. Now i can imagine your miniatures using similar weapons in your diorama.
Also, i think this is a good time to suggest a potential diorama you could build for your WIW build. A gunsmith/blacksmith's shop. In a wild west world, there needs to be a place where guns can be purchased to fight off bandits and criminals. For a Wild Imaginary West world, there needs to be a place where guns and weapons for both criminals and monsters can be built and sold.
Imagine the front looks like any normal wild west gun shop, maybe with a sheriff and deputy going in to purchase a new firearm. While the back looks like a huge workshop with some workers building weapons and gadgets for monster hunting. Maybe they are working on a project involving attaching a big weapon on a wagon or train. This is an idea i believe would be a great edition to your WIW series as well as build some lore too.
Would love more of this. My mind goes to a full cosplay. Maybe a utility belt/bandoleer. Or a brimmed hat with an antenna or mini incandescent light
