  • I compare the refresh rate between the basic and enhanced versions to see if the extra speed of the CPU really worth it.

    hello mate!! first of all thanks for the tutorials.. just one question it seems that the enhanced has better components from the basic .. would you trust the same both of these or is the enhanced more trustworthy ? thank you in advance

    • @interlinkknight

      in reliability, they both are the same. I only prefer the enhanced when has a faster CPU, in the models from 3.5" and up.

    Hello there, thanks for the tutorials they are awesome. I could never have worked out my own projects without your tutorials.
    Can you please tell me how you got your fonts to look so clean, The nextion fonts are terrible. I have been doing index array off images for my numbers but its would be too time consuming to do all the coding for letters.
    If I could get a cleaner looking font from the generator it would be much easier and nicer to look at.
    Kind Regards, Paul.

      After I made the videos, I realize the font generator takes the fonts from your system. I mean, it takes the fonts that you have on your computer. Install better fonts to your OS.

    I have a 3.5" display. When I use the waveform element to plot data from my Arduino UNO, it plots the data slowly. Can we do anything to increase the speed of plotting of waveform, something like tweaking the baud rate or something???

      la serie "K" è "NX8048K070 Enhanced" che ha l'orologio incorporato, nelle istruzioni nextion ho trovato questo, ma purtroppo, dopo vari tentativi non sono riuscito a far scrivere nessun dato rtc0 = 2017, rtc1 = 8, rtc2 = 28,
      rtc3 = 16, rtc4 = 50, rtc5 = 36, n0.val = rtc6
      Nextion RTC:
      rtc0 è compreso tra il 2000 e il 2099, rtc1 è compreso tra 1 e 12 mesi, rtc2 è compreso tra 1 e 31
      giorni , rtc3 è tra le ore 0 e 23, rtc4 è compreso tra 0 e 59, rtc5 è tra 0 e 59 e
      rtc6 è tra giorno e settimana 0 e 6 (domenica = 0, sabato = 6)
      rtc6 è di sola lettura e calcolato da RTC quando la data è valida.
      Un dubbio, ho usato casselle "number" per ora, minuti, secondi, giorni e anno mentre per settimana e misi una casella di testo con i vari "if e else" , L'editor non mi da errore ma quando carico il programma sul display non va!!!!

      Yes, it's possible. But if you need to receive data from any of the display, then it might be a little complicated. So if you only need to send data to the displays, then don't connect the blue cables (TX on the display) to anything.

    One thing that annoys me about the standard nextion gauge is the flicker. Is the enhanced version any better ?

    • @interlinkknight
      @interlinkknight  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a bit better but not by much, because of the faster cpu. There's a trick where you write the gauge only when the value changes, which minimize the flickering.

    • @youpattube1
      @youpattube1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referring to only refreshing when the value changes ?
      If so, you showed that, but there was still a lot of flicker. But I wasn't sure if the camera was contributing to the problem.

    Hello,
    I have a problem with the refresh speed of a Nextion screen where there is one gauge and one text field that are refreshed by an Arduino Uno board wich receive signals from an optical sensor wich count the RPMof a shaft. The gauge needle and the text diseappers at every serial transmission during the refresh of the screen. So they blink all the time. I tried 115200 bauds but it the same. The Nextion screen is supplied by 15W power supply (5V - 3A).
    In your video at 0:59 , it is clear that there is no problem.
    Do you know how to make the refresh quicker?

    • @interlinkknight
      @interlinkknight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you overlapped the text box with the square of the gauge object?
      Also, there is always some flickering with gauges. The only reason in my video I show a gauge not flickering is because that's a custom made gauge using images

    • @Chrisworkshop
      @Chrisworkshop 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@interlinkknight Yes the text overlap the gauge. Thank you very much. I try right now to déplace the text.
      You use image for each position of the needle? So it must be a lot of pictures, no? one fore each 0.5°?

    • @interlinkknight
      @interlinkknight  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my custom gauge I have one image for each degree. I made it in PowerPoint but you could use something like Photoshop. I have that project available on my video about Arduino tachometer, if you want to see how I did it.
      For the normal gauge included on the nextion display, it will always flicker but not too much. But remember to never overlap objects because that, as you saw, cause excessive flickering

      All nextion displays have timers and variables built-in. Try creating a simple timer with 1 variable and 1 timer. In the timer you can set to run every 1 second (1000 milliseconds) and in the code of the timer put something like var1.val=var1.val+1
      That will increase the value of the variable by 1.

How to get that information that you want is something that you need to figure out with arduino. Ones arduino gets the data that you want, sending it to the display is trivial.
