i could watch this guy play all dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
His movements are so fluid, and probably one of the most linear original metal drummers i've seen with every hit so precise, i love to see a drummer utilize their entire kit like he does. Very articulate the way he cuts at his cymbals. Definantly an inspirational drummer for myself. No need for insane amounts of speed and blast beats, what he's doing is way more technical and skillful 100%
Never has a statement been so accurate, I agree 100%
Bro, search for thomas lang ;)
@@victorcarvalho4713 i know all about him!
Dude is smooth af....
Il second that buddy
That's why I fucking love Northlane
that snare tone holy
sounds pretty killer
its his evetts signature you can buy one
I wish I had the money
you can get this fat snare Sound easily, it depends on your drum heads and the tuning, there are tons of TH-cam Videos about this topic ;)
jax son well yeah you can make a live snare sound good, but a cheap snare mixed into a recording sounds have that umphh
Hearing anything instrumental by Northlane really makes you appreciate everything so much more about their devotion as musicians and forces you to feel the context in which the lyrics are laid out once you listen to the original recordings again 👌
tell me... how the fuck can a single brain save sooo many variations of patterns and hooks?
its awesome
OfficialCaltura feel
Idk, ask it to Danny Carey xd
Think about it like you're rehearsing a speech and you've rehearsed the same speech for 180 consecutive days, by half way through that time and afterwards you'd remember every word without having to think about it. The same thing applies with music :)
His playing couldn't be any better
6th time in a row watching this and I'm still not over it haha
The sound of the drum is incredible but the sound of the snare, oh my God... synonymous of perfection!
Tight enough to keep up with such an intricate style of music, but just loose enough to remind us that he's human. Love this kid.
Your perception of kids is quite odd
Brandon Chambers I didn't realize how old he actually was. He looks a lot younger than he is
Never listened to your band prior to this, but I'm definitely going to start now. Very noice. I don't know which is sexier; that drum set, those fills, your footwork or your hair.
Very noice
The way he looks at his china is sexy
he looks like a wizard casting a spell when he hits both his crashes at same time lol
Well it is his favorite symbol haha +taylor goulart
I love his timing choices for his accented cymbal hits. So obscure yet on time at the same time. His linear patterns that he uses with his Toms sound so good too! He is incredibly underrated. I also love his kit setup with the 2 floor toms setup with one on either side. And that angled ride cymbal makes so much sense! Haha great work Nic!
You can tell he’s played this literally a million times
Practice makes perfect
It's Nic man lol
Without the vocals this stuff serves pretty well as some thoughtful progressive metal.
Love watching this dude play, all the accents he does in his playing are awesome
i keep coming back to this video
The ghost notes on point, that's my Nic! See you again in Karlsruhe :)
Man sieht sich haha !
Wird mega, endlich Northlane auf einer größeren Stage, bis dahin!
Ohja ! Sau geile Line Up dieses Jahr.
Mit Suicide Silence und Amity auf jeden Fall! Warst du letztes Jahr schon?
In Karlsruhe wird Northlane Headliner sein oder? Weil in Köln spieln sie auch nochma mit The Amity Affliction aber als vorband:/
But you didn't play the shaker part at the start.
lol
Picky much, Josh?
I should do a shaker cover on this song.
Technically that part isn't played on the drums. That's the sound of a Maraca
@@97Mizzo wtf it's a joke
So much inspiration from this band and especially from the legend Nic.
1:40
The fu!@#$!@ transition still gives me chills.
This mix is perfect. The toms are punchy but still have they're true sound, and the kick isn't clicky. Sooo good.
i love this so much, the placement of everything is spot on
goddamn that filming and editing though, god tier
Seriously! It's like they read my mind, all angles I wanted to see were there when I wanted to see them lol
exactly what I did. you have a filthy mind.
This guy, gives me chills every time I watch him play
Nic your videos are fantastic! Make more of these!
This is the type of drummer that i love, fluid, melodique and so cool!
Excellent! the balance between complexity and musicality is top notch.
this mix is frickin flawless. so damn good.
One of the most talented and technical drummers out there. I love these drummers that write their own drums as well fucking sick man!
Excellent drumming as always! You're such a huge inspiration for me!
This guy is a fucking wizard, I have a lot of favourite drummers but this man is favouritest of them all. The fluidity in his style, all these meticulously placed ghostnotes, the power at times... love it!
I love the way his body moves. He definitely feels the flow
this is a real pleasur to see him play this song ! really impressive 🤘
OMG LOVE THIS DRUM NOTES! GOD THAT SNARE! GREAT MIX!!
Nic,what an amazing musician you are! I'm not a drummer, but i'm gonna say you have such a distinctive good taste on your drumming, and always keeping the groove. Simply amazing. Thanks man,for sharing your skills
Yes!!! A new one Nic Pettersen drum play-through !!! always awesome :-)
See you in Munich in December!
The thing I love most about Nic is his writing and execution.
I watch these videos soooo much!
nic you are perfect... thanks god that u exist
All the right nuances in all the right places
That looks so good especially that last part such a cool drummer man!
Nic does more with the spaces between the hits than many drummer do with a run of 32nd notes. Case in point.
16th notes
PWAAAAAA your drumming is awesome on this song !
Playing drums to this video is amazing. Instrumentals always have more feel
this is awesome nic!
Such a treat every time you upload a video 😂 love it!
Wow... man I really love your Snare Tone.. 🔊😍😍 👏👏
Not sure why anyone would give this a thumbs down? Very cool drumming - so very measured in his approach and attack - tasteful in every respect!
Timing and feel are impeccable
DAT SNARE OMFG!!
Love that clean huge sound
Awesome drumming man!👍👍👍what a huge brilliant sound!🤛
That was not only awesome but I love the way the kit is set up. Wow that was a treat to watch. Subbed!!!!
0:49 this part is SO AWESOME. It sounds kind of like a "slowmo" effect but keeping the time.
SOOOooo AMAZING!!!
Perfect sound Perfect solo .
Love this dude
Awesome Drumming , Video & Sound!
Awesome footwork! Never heard of your band before, searching rite now!
Loving these videos! I know it takes lots of time to do so thanks. Also your hair looks fantastic 💁🏻
so sick!!!
So good!! Good for thought
Wow, the mix sounds pretty great!
Awesome playing and realy nice song! Keep it up!
Damnit I fucking love the fill at 3:15 so much. Too good.
So much punch.great drumming
Savage backbeat + weaponized snare = HELL YEAH!🤙🏾
Displacement reaction of grooves and fills , the most epic parts being the highest in reactivity .
You really do magic when you play the drums, man !
I love Northlane and In Hearts Wake, so much fun hearing both awesome music. Makes me feel full of joy every time.
Thanks for all your work Nic. You are one of my biggest inspiration for be a Drummer.
With love, a big fan from Argentina ♥
dude reading this shit just brings a tear to my eye for real. i know nick in real life but not through music or anything like that but knowing he inspires people like this while being one of the most genuine people i know seriously makes me want to cry in a good way.
@@liam3104 thank you so much for your comment dude 😃
that snare!! I watch this I dunno how many times over the recorded version cause of it :)
Wow very nicely played, very solid drum sound too
Nice work man, the drum kit' is very cool, well done Pettersen |m/ keep strong !!
You are a legend, man.
Great and cool job man!
You should make these more often man! Killing it as always
awesome sound of snare +
Holy shit I just realized how much the mixing of the drums in this video kicks ass!! Ulitmately on point...and much better than in the album version.
Amazing drumming! You have a great tone
I have the freq hats and this is the first time I have seen it being used in this type of genre
what a sweet snare!!!!!
These guys need to do another combo ep. I love each bands new album but this combo shit is just another level for each band.
nic thank you so much for all the work you put in. bands tend to dissappear easily and this shit keeps the pulse going. thanks again.
Starkes drumming. Excellent. Und der sound... Mmmmmmm
Your drums sound perfect to me 🔥
great drum sound and great drumming also
That snare sounds killer!
Nice moves bro im gunna check out your other stuff you really give me inspiration to do better at drums
One of the best in the game IMO, his style is so flavorful. The part at 1:12 always gets me hyped
The mixing is outstanding...but the natural sound of these drums especially the Evett's snare is fucking phenomenal
awesome! 👌
WTF! That snare sound is very awesome!
Your drumkit sounds so great !
Great drumming! Keep it up! Greetings from Costa Rica
I love everything about this playthrough other than the position of Nic's ride cymbal.
I don't like the position either but variety in the way drummers approach the instrument keeps it interesting. Just imagine if everyone played in the same position and with the same style; individualism is something to strive for in art and drumming is no different.
Amazing
On point! 👌🏼
those riffs, man... orgasmic
this song so much better instrumental
Yeah you can hear the atmospherics much better
You are so right because this video was the first time I have ever heard this song, so when I pulled it up on spotify I was kinda like ehhhhhh...
Is this album in instrumental ? cuz I really just can't stand the Ariana Grande singing over it x) but really love Northlante
@@ImDatOoz Ironically enough its the screams that I dont like, I think the cleans sound just fine XD
@@atheos3x2 screams are weak asf, clean sound are for pop rock.
Sublime
i think he is the most creative drummer in the world ♥
Damn Northlane, I guess i've been sleeping on you guys recently. This song is sick.
