I've have seen this video several times over the pass year for me there is so many great great memories. I retired 2 years ago and moved out of state and I really miss Ohio. If I do move beck to Ohio Cuyahoga Falls would be the top of my list. Thank you for the video.
i got out of there 43 years ago- trading it for life in southern california. i'm retired in a little san diego county town, growing tangerines and cannabis- have no desire to go back to a.o. beach is 45 minutes downhill- mountains (and winter snow) are 30 minutes uphill. it's almost as if interstate 8 was built just for us (and 'zoners).
@@tommurphy4307 but now u have to live with left wing dems and woke fools along with illegals everywhere and high cost crime and homeless all over u wont have those issues in ohio for the most part anyway.
@@tommurphy4307 Bummer! But kinda funny about the swearing. They better not go to Hawaii then. I grew up in the Falls, but lived in Hawaii 40 years. Every other word is the F word there! Well, local to local that is.
@@barbarashirland9078some of our hispanic people here around san diego say it all the time- i think they don't really understand how nasty that word is.
before kayaking became really popular, we used to go down thru the gorge in inflatable solo rafts. we put in at the old concrete slab right at the whirlpools just downstream of the dam and pulled out at the old hydro powerhouse (which was still there, looking beautiful) and then we used the big black pipe (which was also still there) to portage back to the dam and do it again and again. the higher the river water- the more fun we had. its unfortunate ohio edison didn't have someone to keep an eye on the powerhouse and pipe cuz it would have made a fantastic tourist attraction. they demolished the powerhouse in '72 after it had been ransacked and vandalized for years since it was decommissioned in 1959. back then it was private property and there was zero security- the metropolitan parks had no waterway cops working there and thats why we got away with it. cheers.
Yeah. Great video. I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls. Lived on Stow Street as a baby though late teens moved to Victor Ave until 1965 went US Army 3 years, 65/68. Moved back to Cuyahoga Falls, then left for Virginia 2 years then on to south Florida, where I live now. I am 75 yo:) CFO, a great place to grow up.
all those houses that were near the school on stow street are gone, but i see the kanish's house is still there on sixth st. it sure was a great place to raise your family. hey owen, i used to live on a small island in st. pete beach in the 70's- we moved out right after agnes hit in '72 and bought the lawson's house on e. bath rd.
@@tommurphy4307. The house that I grew up in, 500 Stow, across from CFHS is still there. Even the same color, green. Lots of great memories. Is the Falls Theatre still there? I worked at the theatre for about a year and a half. Had a blast.. Great memories then and when it turned into CINERAMA:)

Cuyahoga Falls looks like a great city going by what I saw in the video.
it looks great, but give it a few months and it will turn very UGLY.
@@tommurphy4307 It's still great. I live here.
It's very beautiful here. I'd love to visit one day.
Great, I hope you can.
Wonderful video! I grew up in the Falls and still visit often. I think Cuyahoga Falls could be a good tourist draw. Hiking, kayaking, you name it.
Thank you, I think so too.
just not tennis- they ripped out all the tennis courts because one family was complaining about the noise and swearing.
