Wow this was deep stuff, went straight over my head but it's nice to know what's possible. Appreciate you taking the effort to share your renewable journey with us.
Grest video / series. Really enjoying it. You should use a low powered pc and install home assistant. Put all your data in a influxdb. You already half way there with your current setup.
Probably. I could always commission a home assistant pi. But for me this is also an exercise in learning python, (and some more css / javascript later on).
I'd highly suggest node-red for automation and could be added to your existing Pi. Also make sure you back up your data file regularly just in case the Pi card corrupts.
Yes, my next plan is to rename the txt file at the end of each day and then attempt a connection to my windows machine for file copy. I’m well versed in the traumas of corrupt sd cards. My existing card is a “high endurance” card and it’s been going strong for nearly 4 years now. Overall I’ve got I few ideas to develop this program, and data preservation is one of my higher priorities.
Is your heat-pump SG ready? Can you get it putting extra heat into the cylinder when you have excess solar? Could you have it back off when your battery is depleted and its peak rate
Great respect to you for your video. Great detail and helpful information.

Excellent content. Surely the huge benefits of implementing home assistant would outway the additional raspberry pi?

“I’ve been busy”. I’ll have something to show in terms of my own monitoring dashboard very soon.
Which cable did you get to go between the esp and serial is it dupont?

You should take this down and re-edit. You didn't black out the ssid/password for your WiFi correctly. The tooltip that pops up in vscode shows them.
I've just applied a blur to that section. Thanks for pointing it out.
