Someone asked about the two camera systems - color & black & white. This was common when color broadcasting was being introduced as color cameras were expensive. In one shot we can see it was used as an isolation camera on one player. These tended to be film cameras, not TV. Further, the other challenge was live broadcast at 29.97 frames per second versus film @ 24fps.when networks realized they needed the ability to replay programs because they couldn’t survive on solely live content. Film needed a Telecine to convert it for tv broadcast. To convert a TV broadcast to film a Kinescope process was used which was basically a film camera pointed at a tv screen. This might make a good trivia video.
I’m sure the defense was thinking WTF? But Warner kept his eyes on Williams the entire time. Mahomes tried to fake he was handing off but Williams didn’t and just powered through. You’re right, it was a thing of beauty. Still, I was surprised this wasn’t a touchdown, seems it should have worked just a little better. Maybe that’s why we haven’t seen this twirl since.
The Dallas Cowboys still perform the shift today, but only during 'victory formation' at the end of games.
