Hi there! I just want to extend my fullest gratitude to you both. I have been dating my boyfriend for nine months, who is African and Pakistani, and our happiness is simply unimaginable. Having been raised around very prejudiced and stereotypical mindsets, this was an initial barrier with my parents; I had faced harshness from them, as they did have their own expectations of who I would eventually date. Negative comments were thrown in my direction, but regardless, I followed my heart. Being with my boyfriend has taught me so many beautiful things, and after also having endured a childhood of relying on the opinions of others, I am learning to dismiss them. It has been a journey thus far, but I am confident and reassured that my family's mindset can only progress from here. My parents love him now, my extended family is itching to get to know him, and my friends are extremely supportive. x
This helped me more than you know. It’s been the hardest thing i have ever went through, and today i talked to my dad about it and that’s the biggest bump in our road. My bfs family loves me, but we are working on mine. It’s slowly making progress but it is so hard. I am staying so close to God and I truly believe he put me in this relationship for a reason.

Sounds like you’re Father is having some reservations about the relationship. I am assuming your mother is ok with your relationship, so perhaps she can help your father except your boyfriend. Interracial dating is a beautiful and positive thing.

I rejected the black guy I loved and I finally removed the racial partiality glasses. Since then, the Lord lead me to meet a new wise man who is my rock and my beloved. While he isn't black, I'm blessed to be married to him and I never will leave my husband.
I'm white and my love is mexican. I know my family may have some questions, but they are good people. I'm not too worried about them being against it. I am worried about her family though. I haven't met them yet and don't know anything about them. No reason to think they won't be cool with it. Just don't want to disappoint them, and hope they are OK with their daughter dating a gringo.
Hey I wouldn’t focus too much on what the response will be from the family of the one you love. That will only cause unneeded stress. Focus on growing into the best version of yourself you can be.
