I have not been to McAdenville in years, as a family we used to go every year since we live so close. I am glad that people now walk through, when we went you only drove through. McAdenville is a special town because the Pharrs, I think, asked the employees to decorate their homes for Christmas and the business paid their power bills for the month of December. You are right, the way to see it really is just to walk. I can remember the trees being so tiny around the lake. I love all the red, green and clear lights that they decorate alot of the trees with, those were always the traditional colors. The tore down alot of the houses that are close to the lake and added the round a bout, that was not there when I was growing up. McAdenville is a magical special place. Thank you so much for sharing. Alot of the people I think park at the Food Lion on 74 and walk over to McAdenville. I really do not know where they park. I really enjoyed seeing your video so much. I live in Gastonia, so the sweet little town is very close to me. I am surprised that the lights went off at 10, I thought it was 11, but i guess they changed it. The crowds they should leave them on till 12 since it is so close to Christmas.
Yes, we were very surprised that the lights went off at 10:00 on a weekend night. There were people that were just getting into town then, after having waited in line. We felt really sorry for them. We actually parked at the Wesleyan church, on the south end of town. Last year, we parked at the elementary school, which is right across the street from the church. It's very beautiful. That's neat, about how the people have their power bills paid, merely for decorating for Christmas. And yes, walking through is definitely the way to see it.
Christmastown USA for sure!! It was spectacular!! We so loved this video, had to watch it twice🙂 Thank You both for all your time and effort to bring Christmas to your viewers, just loved this!! Merry Christmas to you both😊
We love McAdenville. Been years since we've been. Never have gotten out to walk the streets though. That seems to be the best way to view everything. Great video !
I haven't been to McAdenville in so long. My uncle lives in Gastonia, and we used to visit him and my aunt right after Christmas and then drive through McAdenville before we went home. Thanks for showing your visit!
Thank y’all for sharing this video with us all,, we have always wanted to see McAdenville lights, haven’t made it yet😞,maybe one year we will. Thanks so much, made our evening ❤️
Great Christmas lights in a pretty town. I like the homes that have candles or wreaths in the windows, very traditional. Too bad they shut down at ten. Thanks.
Awe so beautiful i never heard of here i go right out of Benson NC to a small town they have a merry go round n train you can ride n a big candy store n Santa there its nice too ❤❄️ ⛄☃️ 🦌 🕯️ n its homemade candies n nuts its a country store with wood floors
Just down the road.three miles east..Haven’t driven thru there since 2021. Where did y’all park? Last year we visited Forest City for the first time. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for the video. We tried to go last night, i guess Gps took us on the back end because there was no thru traffic & nowhere to park, so we went to our hotel. We were bummed since we drove from South Carolina 😢.
I am so sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what happened there. If you punch in the elementary school or the Wesleyan church, there should be ample parking in those places. Did you get to see the lights at all?
We ended up going to Forest City. We lodged in black mountain, so it was closer to us than going back to Christmas Town. We could see a string of lighted trees through the woods, we were so close but so far 😅😢
@JessicaFallen Yes, that is a beautiful place, as well. Do you live in NC, or VA? I know I've seen you comment on a few of the VAFunSeeker's videos a few times. Great people!
Absolutely love this! We love walking around and enjoying all of the Christmas lights. We would love to visit this town.
Yes, I think you all would enjoy it very much.

Thanks so much really enjoyed that but will never do that traffic
The traffic was much worse this time, because it was a weekend. Last year during the week, we didn't have a problem.
I hate I missed y'all. I'm just a light or two away in Belmont. Nice tour.
Thank you so much for watching. Wish we could have met up.
