  • Iceriver KS0 Pro Kaspa ASIC overclocked to the MAX!! (Heavily modified Vs Stock part 2) In this video my mostly stock KS0 PRO goes head to head with my heavily modified KSO PRO!! I go over how I'm adjusting my clocks & show what the true bottleneck on these machines appear to be! See how things work out for me with each adjustment! Hopefully what I've learned here will help others if they decide to modify or overclock their KS0 PRo!

    Love that you were able to use the graphs to show the correlation between ambient and hashrate. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping all the graphs w/ the synced tooltips would help people troubleshoot. And it's not just you, these things absolutely suffer in performance when the hash chips start hitting low 40s and below. 50s does indeed seem to be ideal for KS0 Pros.
    Also, your hashrate on the unmodified one indicates you're voltage starved. 280 Gh/s should only require ~220mhz offset (550mhz * 80ghs / 200ghs = 220mhz). Assuming you don't want to increase voltage any further, you should try reducing your clock offset to 220, or maybe find some middle ground between +220mhz and your current +275mhz offset that might actually give you a higher hashrate.

      Thanks I appreciate the info! I did feel like I should've been able to get a bit more out of the mostly Stock KS0 Pro. I'll try decreasing the clocks a bit and see how it does. I was starting to worry about the power stage temps and it did seem like things improved when I backed off the clocks a bit. Thanks again!

      I should have kept better track of the power consumption throughout the whole process while I was shooting the video. But it became very tedious because I was making so many adjustments over a long period of time. I decided just to include the power consumption that I ended up with. I will try to make sure I take the time to include power consumption more frequently in future videos! :]

    Hi man! First of all, thank you very much for the videos of ks0 pro oc, they really helped me!
    One question, In the video where you make the modifications (heat sinks and everything) you say that you were blowing air from the power conector to the ethernet conector (like everybody does), and that you were going to try changing direction to improve heat sinks performance and avoid the things in the middle. Have you tested this already? How did it go?
    Thanks in advance. Keep going with this nice videos please, they help new miners a lot :)

    • @GreaterGoodMining
      @GreaterGoodMining  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks for watching! I havnt done extensive testing blowing in one way Vs. The other yet. Blowing in from the ethernet side makes sense to cool the power stages with the copper heat sinks better but then it's harder to access the IP report button but that's not a big issue because static IP etc. Blowing in from the power side makes sense in a different way because the barrel plug gets HOT and I worry that it could cause an issue. I might try a push pull set up again because the fan on top of the heat sink might not be necessary since it mostly helps cool the chips and dissipate heat from the inside. The chips are cool enough, and actually sometimes too cool when the temps drop at night

    without bringing the chip temp down

    • @GreaterGoodMining

      That's not really necessary. The bottle neck is the power stages getting too hot. The heat sink works fine for dissipating heat especially if you use a higher quality thermal paste and pad. The chip temps aren't as much of an issue especially if you use a shroud kit

    Question - you mention stability. Is that refering to only the power stage / chip temp - or does it include the hash rates?
    2 Hr hash rate is 338 - but 5 min has a swing of 30 GH/s (1 hour range - low 323 / high 360). 30 min avg - 340.
    KS0 Pro - added heatsinks, new pads, MX-6 paste and upgraded PSU. Fruition shrouds with AC infinity blowing into the ethernet side - est 30% fan. 400Mhz / 46mV. Power stage avg 87 - no spike over 93. Chip temp avg solid @ 48 / max 51.Chip voltage avg also solid @ 438 / 443 max .
