  • When it comes to bass fishing, 2022 was a remarkable year! Whether I was fishing from the deck of the Bass Buggy or if I was hoofing it from the bank, I was still catching bass all year long! In this video, we'll look back on some of the very best lures, baits, and presentations that worked for me and why they worked. We'll discuss what I liked about them and what flaws they may have had. These lures were the best! #fishing #bassfishing #bassbuggy

So, what baits and lures were your favorites in 2022?

Hard to tell since I mostly use plastic baits Texas rigged, but I got a bunch on a bluegill colored squarebill, so that was prob my best bait of 2022. (I know Im late on this podcast, but wanted to watch it)

I just love it when a bait gets all worn out like that. There is a special collection of retired baits in my boat. Like a mini hall of fame.

To me it always seems like the more a bait gets beat up, the better the fish seem to like it.

I really like throwing a rattle trap. It's what I started using when I was a kid and I still have a soft spot for them. You can use them pretty much anywhere in my area.

Always stick with what you have confidence in!

Your tips really helped me out in 2022! I'm catching more fish than I ever did. I caught my PB of 4 pounds and 7 ounces and I think I can beat it in 2023!

That's a great PB but you can beat it!

Rapala shallow running squarebill, Yo-Zuri crystal minnow suspending jerkbait, War Eagle 1/4 ounce spinnerbait, Blue Fox vibramax inline spinner. This year I'm going to throw a chatterbait and the Arkie swim jigs for the first time.

I've caught fish on just about every kind of hard bait, my favorite being the casting jig. But the two I have yet to catch on are a bladed jig and a spinner bait and not for a lack of trying. I'm hoping I can change that in 2023.

Sometimes it can be harder to catch fish on a bait you don't have a lot of confidence in. But once it clicks and that light comes on, you really start catching them! Hopefully you'll be able to do that.

I've started using that swim jig thing with the swim bait. I really does work pretty good. I'm calling it the Lowbrow rig 😂

I had the best luck with a grandebass baby rattle snake in trophy hunter color, and the mega bass sleeper gill.

I caught a lot on the Googan Klutch and Red Eye shad lipless cranks. Overall though it's not necessarily a lure but my number 1 is a dropshot with a 4 inch Yum Dinger.

I did good on an old school shad rap and a spinner bait. I want to try to get more into throwing bigger swim baits.

I'm with you about those Megabass jerk baits. Those things are too expensive! I just can't afford that.

    • @LowBrowFishing

They might be really good, but a lot of anglers can't pay that.

Great list LB. I ordered a couple of the sloberknockers, cant wait to use them. I'll have to check out that H20 jer bait from Academy, it looks like a good jerkbait.

I still have to go through my logs to get exact numbers, I caught most of my bass on plastics but as far as hard baits, I already know the vision 110 jr has to be the top bait, 2nd would be the regular 110, not sure about 3rd, as far as the Berkely Stunna I really like it and have already caught a few this year on it, Berkely needs to make a stunna jr, it would crush in 40 degree water , may even out do the vision 110 jr

I do most of my damage on plastics as well, but a jerkbait was certainly a great producer of bites in 2022!

Square bill , rattle trap and small swim baits 3in or less
