Del Amitri's music was the soundtrack to my 20's and all the broken love stories were told so beautifully in your lyrics. 25 yrs later, these songs still bring a lump to my throat....amazing soulful music.....as good now as it was then.
Heartbreaking to discover that these guys sold no more than 6 million albums worldwide whist soulless, corporate crap like Little mix, Jedward and the morally bankrupt One Direction rake it in!! As previously stated, that's how the music industry works, if your face fits. 'In the gallery' by early Dire straits springs to mind!! These guys were largely unappreciated by the world at large but greatly appreciated by those of us who recognise true talent. Thanks for the memories guys, you were the voice of a generation long since gone!!
Manufactured bands don't make as much as people think. Because they don't write their own music, they get a really shitty share of the royalties. They don't even get anything but per diem until the recording and distribution costs are paid off. Many of them never get out of debt.That's how that the record companies operate: Manufacture 5 bands and hope that one of them makes enough money to cover what's lost on the other 4.
There are people just as telented that are completely overlooked. 6 million is a great number. I think they deserve a lot more but it's still an amazing achievment.

Saw the band last night supporting Simple Minds in Cardiff…..magnificent! Justin’s voice still immaculate! They put on a hell of a show! Still as brilliant as they ever were! Always such an underrated band…..always deserved so much more! ❤

Then heard Always the last to know, then Kiss this thing goodbye. Then When you where young. Finally realised they were not one hit wonders. Now regret I didnt know about this great Scottish band when I was there in 2019. Woud have been looking for all things Del Amitri if I was wise at the time!!!
This is one of the most perfect songs in terms of an emotional arc that I know of. Without analysing the chord changes, vocal range, or synthesis between chords and vocals this song provides an excellent musical and narrative journey. Great work well done!

A drive that has never left my heart 💔😢 it’s a very hard song for me to listen to as I end up drifting in the realms of melancholy but each year I come back to it, perhaps as some sort of penance. I still remember the smell of her perfume, the softness of her hand and the way her hair gently caressed her face as we travelled in a deafening silence. I loved that lady more than anything but after this day we were never the same… the moon fell and continents collided and after this day my life was changed😢
remembering listening to this album more than 20 years ago again and again. still certain feelings and situations popping up. that's what's about good music. blessed to have seen them live.

Oh how I love it when the videographer truly understands the depth of the lyrics in a song. This is exceptional art. Great imagery and insight. Reminded me of Jesus in the desert for 40 days being tempted by the devil. I loved the imagery of the man riding solo on a bicycle built for two. Just brilliant. Well done. The world desperately needs more art like this. Soul searching art. No easy answers or simple fixes. A mirror held up to humanity without shoving it in their faces. Just like the life of Jesus does. Brilliant - just brilliant.

But I never had the balls to tell her, I was even given the perfect chance to and still didnt. I still regret it even now, this is a reminder every time I hear it, it's also a great song as is just about every Del Amitri song.

Another fantastic highly recommended European band that makes awesometastic music btw like DA their sales are only 11 million as opposed to DA's 6 million but the music speaks to the heart ❤️💜
