Discipline is essential. Singapore is just doing that. Initially they implemented the rules very strictly and now they are relaxing them gradually. Unfortunately discipline is limited to only schools here. We don’t imprint them in our lives. So agar discipline hai to rules ki zarurat nahi hai. But if not it’s very important

Rules toh hamare yaha bhi hai hi. Jab tak log khud se nahi sudhrenge kya fayda. Indore is one such example. Waha log genuinely chahte hain har saal to top the cleanliness ranking. This was there 6th year and you can see the difference. It's amazing.

@Divya I stay in Mumbai and I have been to Indore Several times. Problem is between strategy and execution. Indore mein sadko pe roz raat paucha lagta hai.. if you want to throw something there are dustbins nearby. In Mumbai despite of willingness you will end up throwing waste because even if you want you will not find dustbins. So Leaders of States have important role to play here
@@arpitjain45 that is true. Mumbai is all together a different case. Even in our small towns people aren't doing their bit. Even in my town the municipality people are cleaning the roads twice a day. But why and how much should we be dependent on them? Why can't we make a habit of keeping a toffee wrapper in our pockets until we find a bin? The mindset has to change.

People can sense when these people fake it. There are sometimes wet waste which I have carried to find dustbin and later on had to dispose of because there is no proper infrastructure. I understand people should take accountability but that's not how masses work. I live in Kerala and I'm okay with my quality of life. I don't need to move to another country and work as a slave there.
1) Some gums are allowed in SG mainly for medication purposes such as therapeutic, dental, and nicotine chewing gum. It's technically not banned if you chew gum in Singapore but rather banned to be imported & sell.. Some people do manage to "smuggle" in some chewing gun for personal consumption from nearby Malaysia
3) Many people seem to be able to watch some of those without issue
4) Durian is banned on public transport firstly due to its scents (either you love it or hate it there is no in-between) which tend to linger in the area for a very long time (like more than an hour) esp in air-conditioned area

Minor correction, Durian itself is NOT banned in Singapore. Merely carrying Durian on any public transportation is banned. You can enjoy it in your home and at various food and fruit stalls around the city-state-country.

More than the laws it's the people there. They have that respect for the law and love for their country. They have a very strong sense of social responsibility towards their country. That's why the country progressed.
I can relate to it when I first visited Singapore in 2010 when i was like 8 years old i used to really like chewing gum so i asked for a chewing gum from a shop the shopkeeper said it's banned. It actually gave me realisation later on how disciplined Singapore is we can learn a lot from Singapore as a nation

Reasons for this! Singapore is smaller than UP hence it is easier for implementation of laws and regulations! India is a vast country with different cultures and heritage every 10 kms so it's much more complicated for implementations! However India is doing really great! Despite of having so much complications it is evolving in the positive side of the table!

As a Singaporean let me explain some of these things. The chewing gum ban is not true, here chewing gum legal but the sale of chewing gum is illegal. That’s why a lot of Singaporean’s stock up on gum when overseas. As for the smoking it’s not banned we have places for people to smoke we just don’t let them smoke in certain places. For durian it’s because the smell is very strong, different people react differently to it.
