When I watched this episode, I viewed the curse as a metaphor for racism in general. Diana first experiences racism and she is cursed immediately after. She's being chased by something she doesn't understand but when she tries to speak about it, no one listens to her. The older adults in her life are desensitized to racism so they dismiss her pain. This is probably due to the fact that they expect her to know how to deal (without considering that she's a child). I believe I view it this way because I grew up with a similar experience. Racist stereotypes weren't as prevalent where I was but people would make offhand comments about me that I didn't understand. Overall, I think this episode was really good but also deeply saddening.

You snapped. This episode was deeply unsettling , haven't felt like that since watching the wiz as a kid. It was the caricature. The culmination of every time I've been made to feel a way seeing it.

It really wasn't and the storyline did not really go well with the so called "Lovecraft" story they tried to make. It is more of a wannabe resident evil movie than an actual lovecraftian story.

thank you for voicing my feelings. no one else seem to talk about how unprotected the little black girl was. or the fact that the darker skin sister gets used.

The Jig-a-bobo episode creeped me out in a familiar way. A way that I’ve always been running away from stereotypes of people’s depictions of me. I’ve always been creeped out by these images and have seen them a lot as child on tv.

It really sucks how black ppl look in anime... it's getting a little better but that weird red frosting lip thing will not die.

This is the 2nd video I've seen of yours & it was brilliant. I had no idea that KK Harris was featured in this episode! And thanks for introducing me to Bianca Brewton.
