I've been "trying" to launch a podcast for 5 years. I wasn't clear. It wasn't professional. I didn't like it. I got "bored". (That's code for scared... Just saying.) Now I have launched my podcast. I'm recording videos that are less than perfect, learning what tech works and what doesn't. What guests fit my vibe and which ones don't. It's a messy and uncomfortable process. And Imma post EVERY LAST VIDEO just to show people what it looks like to grow.

Right now I'm new and i know i suck. I've been confused about whether wanting to do so many things versus indecisiveness. There are a lot of things that i want to do, and everyone is like niche down. I'm sure if i had one thing that i could focus on I'd probably get further alone. But part of my personality and the community that i've created has been me sharing many parts of myself.

Love this! This is exactly what I needed to hear...as I put away my 12-step plan haha. The perfectionism is so real. I totally fell into this trap when I got started - binge-watching every single 'how to' tutorial, checking out the 'perfect' camera, the 'best' lenses, the 'best' mics/lighting/etc. And the best part? After all that.. I still prefer filming on my iPhone. It's easy. Simple. And quick to post or upload to my macbook to edit. This video is exactly the reminder we all needed 🫶💛 Thanks sis!

PS 16:52 - I paid $1K for a YT course and then it was SO complex that I just gave up! Let’s just say that I did NOT have that level of vision 😅. Finally started when I found out a quiet friend had built himself a second living live streaming on YT with nary a course or 12-step plan.

That’s right! I did not have views at all When I first started, I had like two or three views and I just didn’t understand what was happening, so I stopped doing TH-cam. Took me about two years to work on my mental health and I realized that the reason why I wasn’t getting anywhere was because I was doing this to prove people wrong and I wasn’t being myself.
Depending on the type of trauma. you have to work on yourself to be yourself again, because you lose yourself in the mist of everything that you go through.

i procrastinated starting my youtube channel for 10 years because i kept making excuses of when i'd "feel ready". spoiler alert, the perfect time to start will always be now! i feel like i was too worried about looking stupid and wanted to be prepared before starting but didn't realize that most of the things i learned was going to be through experience. giving myself grace and accepting that it won't be a perfect start has helped me so much and allowed me room to grow in whatever i'm doing ✨
you should've put one your old videos clips in the part where you explained you are going to suck from the get-go....that would make your videos more impactful 💯
