This is the most straight forward intro to wheel building I've seen and the truing covers stuff people just don't do. I'll use this standard to have a go myself sometime. Thanks for the time effort and keeping it simple for us mere mortals 👍🏼

Wow, you made that look easy. I've never laced a wheel before but I'm going to have to do it soon with a wheel that needs repainting. I'll definitely use this video as a reference. Those wheels are going to look great on the RM.

Fantastically done video! I am going to try this soon on my bike and reuse the stock hubs but get them powder coated. Once you put a new set of wheels on your bike and ride a couple times, do you have to retighten the spokes again? If you do have to retighten them, do you have to take the wheels off the bike again and put the rim back on the wheel balancing stand? Thanks for the very informative video. You make doing this look easy and with the help of your video I’m going to go for it myself. Also how have you likes the excel rims? Have they held up well? Also what spoke brand would you recommend?

I had a go at doing this. I found the actual lacing to be quite simple, and I could get the side to side adjustment to within a mm, however, when it came to the up and down rotation it was like an egg, well not that bad, but bad enough to have cut my losses and take it to a bike shop. If it wasn't for your video, I wouldn't have even tried, so thanks heaps, I will have another go later.

Im a little confused, im new to this but my excels on my 2022 450f are way out right now. So do we torque it down to torque spec then check for side to side and the hop? Then tightenin would put us over torque spec which in my case is 1.8 which seems awfully low.
