    Thank you so much!!! Ive red the manual focus point stuff and red a bunch of online articles and not one of them addressed this damn lock button! I've been trying to figure out what I did for 2 days. Thank god I saw your video the night before my AM wedding. I will be thanking god that you are a generous man with your knowledge.

    This was the clearest and most helpful video I have seen to explain how to select, move and use the focus point on the D7100. Many thanks for posting.

    You have no idea how happy I am right now. I was searching online forever, found all these (for me) difficult descriptions and then I learn in 1:39 how to change it so simply, wonderful! Thank you so much!!

    Autofocus lock... seriously... thankyou for the help! I was starting to get a bit frustrated because I remembered being able to change the focus point for the auto focus but couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.

    When you refer to the button on the front of camera which side of the front of camera and what button? Also when you say when it's in auto focus you can't change the focus points, are you referring to when the camera is set on auto focus mode? Just trying to make sure I do the correctly. Thanks

    This video is old. I don't know if you'll see my comment, nevertheless, I wanted to say thank you! I just bought a D7000 for macrophotography. Autofocus was literally making me insane. I found the manual focus switch, but didn't realize the focus lock switch was a thing. I don't want to throw my camera into the woods anymore, yay.

    I don't know why I didn't look up this video months ago. My point was stuck on the farthest left it could go....I started to notice that in a lot of the photos I was taking, my subject was to the left of the frame since it was pretty difficult to keep the focus and move the camera to where my subject was on the right. Not cool.

    On the D7200 as far as I can tell you have to hold the damn thing up to your eye to see which AF point is selected. I really hate what they've done to the displays on the D72.

      +syousef True. I couldn't find a way to do it on the back screen either.

    • @chrisjesss
      @chrisjesss 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, good to know I am no the only one. I really miss this feature on the D7200. So stupid that they left it out. Especially when you are handing the camera to someone else for them to take your picture, that display was really helpful to quickly check if the focus is still where you want it to be without having to look through the eye-piece or switching on the LV.

    WTH, I asked how to set the autofocus point WITHOUT the touchscreen. Why is google showing me how using the touchscreen. I don't want to be poking at a touch screen, I want to be taking photos. My old Nikon let you set the AF point by scrolling the little wheel, which was ideal when the camera was up in my face with my eye in the viewfinder.
