My last trip to the marsh just as i was leaving the boardwalk a prothonotary warbler landed right on the railing not 3 feet away from me. Absolutely my favorite place to go birding!
As soon as Ryan rated the nachos, I thought “this is giving Dave Portnoy Pizza Review” vibes. I laughed hard when shortly after, Derek said “one bite, everybody knows the rules.” 😂😂😂
Good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. In the New Territories of Hong Kong 🇭🇰, there are at least the Manchurian Reed Warbler, the Alstrom’s Warbler, Yellow-browed Palla’s Warbler, the Two-barred Warbler and Eastern Crowned Warblers. Though I have not seen them with my own eyes, but these birds are on the Hong Kong bird list in the app as well as in the book of BIRDS of HONG KONG.
Very cool area. Many many many many ..many years ago before vast areas surrounding Sandusky Bay were drained it was a wildlife haven. Conserve and care for wildlife.
Great shots of the Screech Owls. I got my lifer Screech Owl there two years ago, saw Mom, and 3 chicks hiding. Can't wait to go back, love your videos!
Lucky enough to live two hours away and have been going since it started in 2009, it is one of my favorite places to go! Nice video, my daughter started with young birders and it was a magical experience … they were able to band birds and get up close to them and then release them!
Ever catch views of a. Whip-Poor-Will sitting on a branch during the day time? I think that's cool you got the great looks at the Protholonotary Warbler they are so cool to look at.
@@BadgerlandBirding that is fair as even some of the locals here say Magee is better, but if you schedule to be in the morning on a Friday between April-May/ September-October, you can come visit the bird banding station there.
We go every year to bird week, it’s hit and miss depending on weather and fallouts, but I’m never disappointed. I live about an hour and a half away. The food choices are rough! Sometimes there are food trucks in Ottawa National Park. There is actually a wetland behind the creamery that can have some cool things! As a very beginner birder starting in my 60’s, I stumbled on Magee Marsh about 5 years ago on the last day of the festival. I was literally blown away. I’ve since become a full on proud “bird nerd” and bird photographer. OH has so many great stops during the migration, it’s literally exhausting for a few weeks, but what a blast! If you come back, Try Sheldon Park and Pipes Creek too. It’s very cool to see you filming close to my home! Nice work!
In Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, near the mangroves area as well as at the Hong Kong bird sanctuary, there are the Pacific Golden Plover, the Pied Avocet ad well as the Egrets.
Love the video. Would be great to attend some day. Are there vegan options available at the festival that you know of? Or maybe in the vicinity? Thanks in advance for your answer. Greetings from The Netherlands.

@@ilikethebearwindow6757 they really stole the show while we were there!

There’s definitely some inspiration there. Wait until the actual pizza review on our next biggest week video :p

I love how you end, at sundown, with the buzzy, nasal “preent” of the male American Woodcock. Nice!
It’s always a good way to end a day

Thanks so much! Must have been so cool to see the chicks too!

That program is awesome! As a young birder myself I can relate. What was your favorite bird to see
I think on this day the prothonotary warbler was my favorite but there were so many cool species that it’s hard to pick!
It was fun walking and talking with you guys - (that lifer was nice too)
Great meeting and birding with you, Sam!

Only once have I gotten to see one sitting out on a branch. Very cool experience
If you ever are in the area the mentor marsh on the opposite end of Ohio is really good
We didn’t even hear anyone talk about that place when we were there lol

@@fisheyesquarepants3738 cool! Will definitely keep that in mind 👍

We heard about pipe creek but just never had the time to make it out there :(
I've always seen yellow headed blackbirds at Howard Marsh, to my surprise. Enjoy your videos; thanks.
They were a little harder to find this year!
So, Ryan, did you get some good photos with that setup? Do you post those anywhere? Looked like a great time.
That’s Derek with the big camera and lens

Awesome! Bring on more videos! I really love watching these! 😊❤
Also love seeing young birders. I usually don’t see birders my age.
Oh they’re on the way lol
That was awesome! One time I saw a gray-cheeked thrush during fall migration.
It’s a good bird!
542 is insane, I am also a young birder but mine is only 256 after around 2 years
Yeah he definitely has a crazy list for being so young. 256 is certainly not bad either!
Seems like the good life

Nice❤
Thanks 🔥
I really hope to see an owl still this year, I’ve never seen any owl species
They’re definitely tricky to find. People know where they are, they just have to be willing to tell you
