  • Here's my favourite moment in NewsRadio (S04E03 The Public Domain).
    Trivia: Phil Hartman didn't actually play the piano, the musical score was played by a professional and later synced with Hartman.

    Phil Hartman was excellent but this show's entire cast was very good overall and they had great synergy with each other too.

    This was the first episode rerun that aired on Wednesday June 3, 1998, the week after Phil Hartman's death. Immediately after that last scene, they showed a photo of Phil holding a microphone, with his years 1948-1998 written below it.

    I'm not sure but I think Matthew falling off the piano was ad-libed, based on Hartman's and the chick's reaction.

    • @jt7250
      @jt7250 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I believe that's Lauren Graham (Andrea). Her reaction is because when Mathew fell backwards he grabbed the coffee mug on the piano and splashed Lauren.

      It's very rare but yeah. Also it's because Phil Hartman was extremely savage and a great comedian that could pull it off without the higher ups pulling it off air.

      EVERYBODY mocked Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and even before and after it. SNL and Conan did it all the time. I’d say that about 50% of SNL’s material during the first half of 1998 was mocking Clinton.
