WOW! Amazing video! =D I was listening to the song "cut" by Plum at the same time I was watching this, and the two went together really well! lol! =D 5 stars! =D
@AquaEyedDolphin I'm not denying the fact that there probably is a bond between the trainers and the orca, though it's really no substitute for its family in the wild, one that it grows up with since birth. Not like us, where we leave eventually. And yes, I went to Sea World starting from when I was 2 years old. I've loved orcas since then, and I'm now 22, lol. I also volunteered to help a few dolphin trainers and got to see what goes on behind the scenes as well.
@LauieChan Wow, this brings back the conversation about 7 months ago, I was confused when I got the message. But I get what she was saying, and I also get what your saying too. But I think there is a special bond between trainers and orcas. Have you gone to SeaWorld before? just a question.
@AquaEyedDolphin Not that I know anything about the bond between trainers and orcas, though I assume there most definitely is one, as social creatures tend to create bonds in general (see: Luna), but not attacking something doesn't exactly equate to love. Orcas don't attack everything they see, it's not in their nature. They're not aggressive. The same could be said of a lot of animals, but most people equate it to indifference, not love.
@eniiline agree wid ya and tili (before the inccident) was preforming purelyfrom love as instead of training with food he just trains now with rub downs and love
If orcas love their trainers, it is Stockholm Syndrome. How much would you love the person in charge of your food source? What would you do if you were hungry? They keep the whales and dolphins hungry on purpose in these parks to ensure they perform. What kind of a bond is that?
@14dlns But still, not all. and the ones that happen are because people disobey rules. And it rarely happens at all. Orcas and dolphins are aslo bred now and not captured in the wild.
@AquaEyedDolphin I think what he/she's saying is that hundreds and thousands of years have produced certain instincts, movements, and intelligence, and being unable to use them causes undue amounts of stress, as it is unnatural. Imagine being restrained from doing things that are purely natural to you, such as being in a hospital and being fed through a tub. Only able to get up and walk during certain periods. Never being able to leave. Think about that for a minute.
@14dlns Lol, ok. But i still think if the ceracean animals didnt like the trainers, they could simply just not perform or just stay away from the trainer.
@freewilly2jesse Nobody is allowed in the water with Tilikum. In fact, that was the case even before the incident. Except now, no one's even allowed near his tank, lololol. For the rest of the orca family, it's a different story. Fortunately or Unfortunately, depending on what side of the fence you're on about it, it may not stay that way.
How many of these Orcas saw the horrors of Taiji. Perhaps tasted the blood of their loved ones while seeing the water turn red and hearing their screams? Lets get real here.

If the orcas didn't love their trainers, they would just attack them and then eat them. They don't do that.

Orcas kill sharks, seals and so on. Why not their trainers? Because they love their trainers. Do you get it? I'm takaraatako in a new account.
