David might not known how to start a Model T but I'm pretty sure he could have stripped that flat fender down and put it back together without a manual.
I heard Henry Ford bought one to see what Chev was up to, and kept it in his museum when GM recalled them. Almost all were taken out and dumped in Lake Michigan.
the video about hand cranking does not make clear that one way to hand crank a car is fine but the other way is very dangerous. If you already know what I'm talking about, you can sort of see, but it is not explained, that the crank han dle should be grasped with all five fingers on the same side of the handle. Nhe thumb should NOT be over the top of the handle. Why,? Because cranking is using the crankshaft to drive the cylinders, If one explodes out of sequence, the crankshaft - and the crank in your grasp - will be driven backwards - a backfire - and it very likely will break your thumb or worse. By not having your thumb over the crank handle, a backfire will simply throw your hand off the handle.
I've always thought a car has soul based on a certain smell, and mechanical honesty, old Fiats, Peugeots, Maserati's just sitting in the. Car you can tell if it has soul.
Great job on your quest to interview Jay Leno. And you have an excellent video for proof. And you let Jay talk at his pace.
I love that Jay Leno lives in a world where he thinks that anybody watching the autopian youtube channel hasn't already watched his 😅
Jay is a walking encyclopedia of automotive history- god bless Jay!
Hand cranking a Model T with Jay Leno at the wheel is a bucket list item for sure!
23:10 - did Jay just drop an F-bomb?
"what the f***" 😂
I backed it up 30 seconds and it made me smile. Someone needs to clip that for a ringtone
I think you said look in the front ..look in the back .
But i understand why you thought that 😂.
Perfect video, WELL DONE!!!!!!
Good Questions Sir. Jay loves the young enthusiasts like yourself.

Fiancée? Congrats. Great interview.
As for the copper-cooled Chevy - pretty sure GM still has one in their collection...

Careful, he'll steal your show.

I blame Leno for talking Biden for a spin in his car
First
congratulation, fellow connoisseur..
In no dimension or universe is Jay Leno the GOAT of anything.
no, but he's pretty masterful at his passions
