In the last few months I've been rediscovering the show. From the first moment here that you see Michael Landon all of a sudden you knew this guy had what it took to play this character. You can just see it. Despite the fact that the actors absolutely hated this pilot, you can really see the beginnings of something very unique happening here.

I see why Pernell Roberts wanted the show to be more sophisticated…but the summersaults into the furniture was fun to watch!
